Grabbed a burger for lunch. Able to be served quickly and hot down without hassle. The staff was friendly and attentive answered all questions about the menu and made appropriate recommendations. I had a hickory burger which had French fried onion, bacon, lettuce, tomato and BBQ sauce. Paired it with French fries. Burger had a perfect medium cook on it and the fries were hot and crispy. Burger ingredients all worked very well together and was everything I was looking for in a burger. I'd definitely return to try some other items if I was in the area.

AMAZING and very affordable for Cali! Arrived after several days at Channel lslands NP, and wanted a meal before crashing at the hotel. Saw this option with burgers and brew on the way. It is located in a strip mall parking lot with other restaurants and shops. You order at the front, with lots of wall menus or hand menus. Then seat yourself. We had the Hook Burger and a Caprese chicken, added on some Sweet Potato fries. Limited but sufficient wine menu, about 6to 8 taps, but two were dry. Staff were friendly and checked us often. Bathrooms were clean, but need to be monitored. Amazing taste and great price.

I finally had Hook Burger again after several years. I ordered the Hickory Burger, Maui Burger, and The Trip (potato & sweet potato fries) with onion rings, all to-go so I could eat at home. Extra ranch and BBQ sauce were an additional 50 cents each. It's never as good as eating it fresh in the restaurant, but it was still delicious and satisfying after a long time. My rating: 4/5. Next time, I'll definitely dine in. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was clean!

Haven't been here in years and I need to change that. Definitely one of the best burger places in the area. Always consistent, always delicious. I had the hickory burger and added ranch.... Yummo! Got a side order of onion rings also. Crispy, crunchy and certainly not greasy. Couldn't ask for better. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant hadn't changed a bit, lol. Doesn't need to either. Clean and inviting just like I remember. I think it's safe to say I'm hooked!

Nice lunch with mom. We both ordered the Hook burger with onion rings. Enjoyed the burger. Nicely built with all the usual fixings lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. All very fresh. The onion rings were very crisp served with ranch dressing. Service was better than expected. The server came by often to refill our drinks and would ask if we needed anything else. Buen Provecho

Haven't been here in long time. Was craving a burger so I went with the Hickory BBQ Burger combo. My husband got the same burger with onion rings. The onion rings and fries were crispy and hot. Service was quick and kind. I like the seating options and big tables. Glad I went back to remind myself of how good Hook Burger is.

First time eating here after looking for a good place to eat on a Friday night. The Yelp photos convinced me I needed to try this place. My friend and I came and ordered 2 California Burgers, 2 pomegranate lemonades, 1 regular fries and 1 sweet potato fries. Total cost was just under $39. My friend got her California burger with Romaine and a few bites into my burger that has arugula as the standard greens, I think she made a good choice and next visit I would also swap romaine for the arugula. I don't feel Arugula did this burger justice. The burger itself was fantastic. It was juicy and filling. The sweet potato fries were hitting the spot. I decided to not have the sugar on them. I just wanted plain sweet potato fries. After we sat down, someone served us our order to the table ( even though they gave us a table buzzer) and even got us ranch and banana peppers. Just before we were about to leave, the same staff asked us if we wanted refills on our drinks. Of course we said "yes!" And I was pleased to know that lemonades were free refills. Overall this place reminds me of Brook's Burger in Pismo. The food seems like a good value and good quality. The staff were friendly and went beyond doing basic customer service. So glad I tipped them on the order. I didn't expect the table service and I wish I tipped a bit more. They have a nice deck outside to enjoy the cool Oxnard weather if you like.

Dang it! Been waiting all week to try their burgers and after going, it was a let down. The Bistro and Hickory burgers ordered looked amazing, but just tasted okay. It's just didn't hit the spot and we can't figure out why. Hook Burger has the right idea, fancy buns, USDA Prime meat, popular ingredient combinations and great craftsmanship, but it just didn't come together. Oh well, glad we went and tried. we can scratch it off our list now. It's a cool lookin' place with very good service. Probably won't be back. read more

Fabulous, fresh hickory burger. Establishment is focused on providing humanely raised, hormone free burgers, chicken and turkey. Shoestring fries are delicious and the side Caesar salad was crisp and perfectly dressed. This is not a sit down and be served restaurant but it's not fast food either. *late post* I came here Monday September 24th. So I came out to visit my best friend and we debated on what to eat. She brought this place up stating she heard nothing but good things about it. Me as a helper had to check the reviews. 4 and a half stars is pretty good for the amount of reviews it for we are going for sure. So we come in they greet us at the door with menus and told use the seating is open. We decided on the California burger for me and the mushroom burger for her. We also each got a side of fries. The food came out quickly. We also had it cut in half so we can taste each of them. I personally don't like mushrooms but with this burger I couldn't even taste them. It melted in my mouth. The California burger was amazing a major must have. Next time I'm out there I'm definitely going back. read more

First timers on our way to visit family in Ojai. Two folks had the hickory burgers, one had the Hook burger and I had a salad with goat cheese and added the grilled chicken. Everything was delicious. Servers were speedy and friendly. Only negative was the noise level. Busy lunch time crowds. read more

Came in on a recommendation from a client, I had the "Hickory Burger" some onion rings and fries. The burger was perfect! I would argue that it couldn't have been better. The onion rings and fries were also some of the best I've ever had. I definitely recommend the Hickory. I can't wait to come back out to try the Mushroom Swiss, the staff is great, very attentive!!! 5 stars well deserved!!! read more

i went to this place expecting it to be your typical boutique burger place. overpriced and underserved. boy, was i wrong! this place is so, so good. they have a selection of burgers, sandwiches and salads, and all of the portions are hefty and full. 100% worth a little extra buck. the ceaser salad is one of the best I have tried...i'm not a big burger gal but if it's as good as the salad, i highly reccomend!! read more

First, it's a large parking lot, but a lot of eateries close by, and they're doing lots of construction on new shops opening up... so parking is limited. We had to walk about 5 rows to get to this place. Like their other locations, the burgers are excellent! We had the hook burger with American cheese and the club bistro (chicken sandwich with guacamole). We ordered the fries well done, because they're normally a little wimpy. They fill your first soda drink up front, and then the servers come around asked me if you need refills, or they pick up your plates, etc. one thing they could improve on is their wood tables... very greasy...I had to put a napkin down to set my phone on it. My wife said the women's restroom floor was very greasy too. Other than that, the food is great!!! read more

This place feels like a lounge...they serve beer and wine....We ordered 3 burgers 3 frys and 3 beers total was just under 40bucks!!! WWWHHHAATTT U CANT BEAT THAT WITH A STICK BALL BAT LOL. If I'm ever up their again I will go there!!! It was that awesome, there's not much more I can say and thats rare! read more

I eat here a lot during my lunch break. They have never gotten my order wrong. They actively communicate with each other and provide fast, accurate and effective service. I'm am now using the app to order my food and have no complaints. The area of space they have to work with looks small but watching them work together activity talking to each other is a breath of fresh air. The only change I would love to see is grass fed grass finished beef. Thanks Hook Burger of Oxnard. read more

This is my go to lunch spot, I'm at that point where they tell me "welcome back" whenever I come in. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing! lol I usually order the Sweet Baby's BBQ Chicken sandwich on sourdough with grilled onions instead of raw and I add jalapeños. I brought my brother in with me and he let me order for him. He asked me what I ordered him once he was done eating so he knows what to order next time he is in. After I told him how I ordered it his response was " It should not be made any other way but only this way! " With that being said next time you go in you should really consider ordering the Sweet Baby's BBQ Chicken sandwich on sourdough with grilled onions instead of raw and add jalapeños you won't be disappointed. read more

Omg. My burger was amazing!!! The sweet potato fries also rocked. They did not skimp on the quality. My burger patty was think and juicy. The toppings were fresh. The buns they used were great. Hook Burger has very tasty burgers and chicken. We get the Maui Chicken which has a fresh pineapple slice and tasty teriyaki sauce. They have a grilled cheese option on the kids menu. My son is much older than the menu recommended age limit, but he has autism and food control issues. They allow us to order for him from the kids menu. We bring our dogs and eat out on the patio at times. They have water dishes and serve single patties for dogs. My only recommendation is that they put the option to order the single patty on the app, so that we don't need to go in and pay for that when we're picking up the order. Great food. Sorry Hook I love your food but the service I've been receiving lately has been horrible. I usually come here every other week and enjoy a lettuce wrap with sweet potato fries. However, there have been two incidents where I have received bad service. The First time, I came in an hour and half before closing and had to wait 25 minutes to get a hickory burger. Again today, my order was wrong and when I brought to one of the servers attention, she seemed not to care (at least that's the impression I got from her). She didn't bother to follow up with me to get it squared away. I just left with paying extra money for something I did not receive. I did not have the time to wait. Because of this I will not return to this location. It's a bummer because I really like the Hook. read more

Apart from the food being absolutely delicious, we felt incredibly safe from the clean atmosphere. The staff was ready to follow all Covid protocols and we can't wait to come back! This establishment is located in North Oxnard and right off the freeway making it super convenient. Hook Burger offers amazing sandwiches, salads, shakes and much more! At first I was like $8+ dollars for a mushroom hamburger and it didn't include fries or a drink?! Then I got the hamburger! Thick, juicy meat with lots of mushrooms and cheese. And it was hot!!! The French fries were crisp and hot! The coleslaw cold and crunchy! I had to wait for them to make my food, but it was about 8 minutes...enough to be hot and fresh! Last few times I've eaten fast food, it's been cold or soggy even. It's totally worth it to go to Hook Burger! Get it fresh!!! read more

This is by far one of my favorite burger places I've stumbled upon. The burgers were well cooked and full of flavor. The fries, onion rings and sweet potato fries were delicious as well. Prices are reasonable as well. The place is spacious and trendy. The employees are so nice and very attentive. Once my order was placed, my food arrived in a time manner. If anyone asks me for a recommendation for a burger place, I'm definitely telling them about this place. read more

My kid loved his chicken tenders but for some reason didn't eat his fries, so I ate those too, mixing them with my blvd fries. I was happy to see my wife left part of her blvd grilled cheese, which has bacon, tomato and avocado. Finally they still have the 3 free arcades but some punk kid stole one of the knobs on the street fighter arcade joystick. You can still play it, just a little trickier to throw a fire ball or uppercut. Well that's this critic's review.
