First time visit. Wasn't planning on lobster, until I saw the Lob-tober-Fest specials. I chose 2 8 oz tails + fingerling potatoes and vegetable medley for $75. Vegetable medley was mushy summer squash and zucchini with a few tomatoes swimming in oil; overcooked! Fingerling potatoes were tasty. I only ate 1 of the tails, took the other to go. The next day I looked closer at the tail, it seemed rather small, so I weighed it. I expected some shrinkage after cooking, but it was only 4.9 oz Disappointed! Wait staff very helpful and efficient. Carrot cake didn't taste like any carrot cake I've ever had before. Frosting was more buttercream than cream cheese. Again disappointed. Will try again, but not for lobster. I was very excited to finally see Hook open for business! Brought a group of friends and we had a wonderful time. The food, service, and ambiance was perfect. Loved the live music and frankly everyone was in a great mood which made the whole experience just right! Expect to wait a little, they are very busy and still working out the details. Today was our first time visiting Hook and it was wonderful. I had my 90 year old mother and her best friend with me. We had a nice table by the window. The food was fantastic. I was super excited to try Hook. I've been a big fan of Chef Bobby from seeing him on the local Fox affiliate. I made advanced reservations for Friday August 11, 2023 for two at 6:30. I drove an hour from the west side to come to Hook SCS. First, the parking is difficult so choose the valet if you go. They might also want to have a smoking zone AWAY from the front door. Bad first impression. Upon entering we were quickly greeted and taken to our table The sushi bar was empty and the restaurant was not packed. We had a few servers come to our table not sure who was going to be our server. We started with two stoli dolie's and the signature crab cakes The crab cakes came out BEFORE our cocktails. Must have taken at least 30 minutes for drinks. We ordered our meals and ask for some bread and ordered another cocktail in anticipation of another long wait We again waited 30 minutes for another drink. The service said the bar is really backed up. I don't see how it was with so many empty seats. The food was good but I wouldn't say outstanding especially for the premium price. The ambiance of the restaurant was good but not Uber impressive. The real problem was the service. Although nice, she never refilled water without me having to ask. She never took away our used dishes and only AFTER we finished our meal did she finally bring the bread. I'm was so disappointed and over this place I didn't even get dessert read more

Our waitress Christina was very nice and you could tell she felt bad if something took too long but honestly we didn't wait terribly long for anything. I am very disappointed to hear about the situation when Mandy was fired in front of friends and the rest of the people in the restaurant area near the bar. First of all, she is a fantastic person as well as an excellent bartender. For owner chef Bobby to humiliate her the way he apparently did is appalling!! Apparently, things aren't going so well as bobby had apparently expected!! Count me out of anything associated with bobby including television events in which I will promptly change the channel!! I used to think this guy was pretty good but no more. I've also heard his "fresh" daily oysters aren't so good either and sometimes they don't even have them!! Great location. Food was decent. We ordered an appetizer (calamari) and a sushi roll. My issue was with level of service. Our waitress was very kind and apologetic, but it took forever for food to come out. And they seemed to have trouble keeping tables bussed... tables were left without being cleared to the point that flies were buzzing around (not to mention it was unsightly and all around us). And customers were being sat in a covered outdoor area with open trash buckets overflowing... and lots of "stuff" piled about... There were at one point 3 hostesses outdoors, on their phones, taking selfies... they weren't busy... and nothing being done about the mess around them... Overall, it was not a great experience. I was so excited to come here, especially since it was chef Bobby's restaurant. what a disappointing experience! we chose to eat on the deck, mistake #1! Be aware you will be served your drinks in plastic disposable cups and eat with plastic utensils! We Should have eaten inside with white table cloths , real glasses and silverware!! Vastly different experiences for the same high end meal! SEVICE was terrible! waited 30 minutes just to get cocktails and drinks! Another 40 minute after placing our order to get our food! FOOD, when it came , 3 out of 6 of the entrees we received were just luke warm ! Must have been sitting in the kitchen for a while waiting to be served ! Scallops , seafood pasta and fries all just Luke warm ! Burger the size of a Burger King burger. The lobster roll. had literally a smear of lobster filling on it! Our waiter was unapologetic when we complained. The only saving grace was the manager/ business partner? apologized and brought a new order of hot scallops, but by then we all had finished. My friends and I went to Hook on a Friday night. We had reservations and didn't have to wait. When we were walking to our table we saw Chef Bobby who welcomed us and said "Happy Friday!" That was pretty cool. This was my third time going there and I love it! The atmosphere and ambiance is great and the food is always amazing! I started with a bowl of Hook's Signature Chowder. This clam chowder was fantastic!!! It had bacon and green onions on top that enhanced the flavor. We all had the crab cakes appetizer for our meal. I added Garlic Asparagus with mine and my friend had the Rosemary Fries. The crab cakes were so good! They had big chunks of Maryland lump crab in it and came with an old bay aioli. Very tasty. The garlic asparagus is one of my favorites and the rosemary fries were so good! My friends really loved it! While we were waiting for our food, Chef Bobby came by our table and greeted us as well as took a picture with my friend who is a big fan of his!! He was so personable and stayed for a good minute. That was a plus. I took home a slice of their carrot cake for dessert and man oh man was it good!! Whew I will most definitely be returning! The complimentary valet parking is also a plus! I can't wait until the weather gets warmer so I can enjoy eating outside with the amazing view! I definitely recommend!! The last time I came I had the Maine Knuckle & Claw Lobster Meat w/Jumbo Scallops in a lobster cream sauce over Bucatini which is a new dish to the menu. That was delicious too. Since I'm a sauce person, I wanted more sauce for my pasta and they accommodated and brought me some. The dish had huge scallops and plenty of lobster meat in it. Another winner! The first time I went they had a black ink pasta dish that was so good! The black ink was a little messy because it turned your mouth black LOL but the flavor was not lacking!!! Emily, I visited the facility yesterday for a birthday for a family member and it was the worst experience ever in 20 years of eating out. We arrived at the facility and sat at the bar where an extremely older man waited on us. He made the worst margarita I have ever tasted. When I told him that it was terrible he didn't do anything. He had the worst attitude and customer service skills I have EVER witnessed. In addition we ordered crab cakes and PAID FOR THEM. We eventually got a table outside and NEVER received the crab cakes until AFTER our meal came. Now on to the meal my food was freezing cold and dryed out due to it sitting so long. My cousins steak was ordered rare and it was well done and her food was also cold. This was a birthday celebration and my cousin does not live in this area so this was her first impression of your establishment. Now I have lived and ate at ALL of the places up and down Jefferson and this was by far the worst ever. Not to mention the staff when I asked the bartender outside for a Togo container she said she only had 3 left and to go inside and ask someone at the hostess station. Are you kidding me? This was our first time dining at Hook (for dinner). We had a party of 4 celebrating a birthday. I'm sorry to say overall we were disappointed. Starting with the positive, the food was very good. We all enjoyed our entrees (ribeye steaks, filet, and lamb chops) as well as an appetizer and dessert. However, the service was disappointing. We felt it was not specifically our waiter, but issues with the overall restaurant's operations. Our waiter was very nice and was trying to be helpful but he seemed to disappear for lengthy periods and everything seemed to take a long time (to get our drinks, to order wine, to get a steak knife for one of our entrees). In addition, empty plates and glasses were left on our table for a lengthy time. The atmosphere is a key driver in my overall rating. There was extremely loud music playing all throughout dinner to the point that it was hard to hear one another. The sound level of the music was just odd given the dinner time hour and the type of restaurant. It made us feel like we were in a club/bar, not a fine dining establishment. Also, we were there during dinner time, not a later hour when loud music would be more appropriate. While we enjoyed the food, given the negative factors of the service and the atmosphere, I would rate the price/value low. When I am paying for an expensive meal I am expecting the whole package: excellent food, stellar service, and great ambience. Unfortunately, Hook was not able to deliver on 2 out of 3. I do wish them the best. We may come back for a cocktail this summer and sit outside but for now will pass on dinner. read more

5 Strikes your OUT. Our Visit was on June 30th... So, the food was on point but everything else was lacking. 1. They said Valet was full and made us park by the Guard Gate where the employees park. That would have been fine if they had a golf cart waiting for us but we ended up walking instead of waiting for a cart. We saw more than 4 empty valet spots as we were walking to the door, a .2 mile walk. 2. They were discussing where to sit us.. mind you we made a reservation. This was our first visit. They sat us at the worst high top in the place. Near the kitchen. Right under a speaker blaring loud music. We had to ask for the music to be turned down so we could hear each other talk. 3. Every runner walked past our table with our food and had to ask for help on where to take our food. 4. Two people ordered Miso Soup.. one person got it. 5. 3 out of 4 meals were brought to the table. The 4th meal was Sushi, but it arrived after everyone else was done eating. Extremely disappointing. As much as, the we were apologized to.. there was no offer to comp anything, there was nothing taken off our bill. We won't be returning and as it stands, we won't be able to recommend this place to others. read more

Let me start by saying that for two people we spent a lot..... over $500. Service was alright, atmosphere felt too big for what there was, food was horrible. They really need to work on training the staff better. A simple Caesar sale was soggy. King Crab very expensive, was over cooked and dried out. Oysters took way too long to come out and not cleaned by well. Cocktails were the worst. Couldn't make a simple gimlet. Key Lime that was no where near as good as tire one available during the soft open. This one was small and not properly chilled. Very disappointing. We had so much hope for a good seafood restaurant in the area but were left denied. We will not be returning. read more

Our friends, husband and I went boating and decided to grab a late lunch early dinner around 3:30. They had 3 hostesses, bar was full but open tables everywhere but was told they were all booked up and only had the option of sitting at the chefs table which is a long bar overlooking the kitchen not the outdoors which I thought was the point of a waterfront restaurant. The hostesses gave us the wrong menu's so the waiter put in our friends order, our sushi order and then had us reselect. Did I mention they had 3 and by the time we left around 5 had 6 hostesses?! They needed more wait staff not hostesses giving out wrong menu's. We got our entree of course about 20 minutes after our friends got theirs and they were done when ours arrived. Had to stay on top of waiter to get other stuff like more drinks which that last round never arrived and we told him to forget it. The actual food was not bad, our friends liked the burger and fish & chips. Our sushi was good and the steak was good but under seasoned as was the asparagus. We asked for salt and pepper but that never arrived either, thus the 3 star rating. They need to get their service act together. Outside seating wasn't even open so obviously struggling for help. The last thing I would say is that they spent bucks on the remodel but doesn't looked like they hired a professional otherwise I believe they would have designed it much differently. It is a very dark and masculine space without many seats with an actual view. Bar stools are restaurant generic, shinny black granite and some really odd lighting/disco ball made it in the decor. read more
