We found Hope's on a Google search. So happy to have a good old fashioned yummy breakfast place in Central Phoenix. There are very few. It's really well designed inside and spotless. Hope herself greeted us. Evidently she's a "family owned" chain. She has other locations in other states. The biscuits and gravy were delicious. They came with hash brown. Me and my husband split an order and then we got two eggs on the side and one pancake. We both got a regular black coffee.. 28.00 plus tip. Bargain!!! They serve this really beautiful blue bottle of alkaline water for the table. The glasses and dishes were very well appointed. Elevated from a typical diner. Our friends got the enchiladas and the steak and eggs, and they ate every bite with the exception of part of the enchilada side home style potatoes, because there were so many. We visited here a few weeks after their opening. We stopped in for lunch based on the positive Google reviews. I'll eventually learn to stop doing that. It's a nice sized place that has a diner-style vibe. The one unique thing they do is bring you a complimentary bottle of water for the table to share. This was cool. Unfortunately, that where the food stopped. We had the BHS omelette and the California toast. Neither of these were particularly good. I'm not sure how to make an omelette this dry but they have found a way. It was also confusingly bland. You'd think 3 types of meat & 2 types of cheese wrapped in the middle of the omelette would have some type of taste... but no. The California toast was also pretty lifeless in the taste dept. Maybe we caught them on an off day or we ordered the wrong thing? Pretty sure we won't be back to figure it out. As we headed out, my wife said, "That wasn't very good." ‍ The server was nice and did well. If you're headed here order something besides what we did. Amazing at every level. Fantastic service, fresh, delicious food with portions that are filling but not overwhelming. The smoky grits are a highlight if you're OK with bacon. Fresh fruit is always fresh and not mealy! Omelettes are so good! Do wish they would partner with a better coffee roaster but even without it, coffee is passable for a breakfast place. read more

Their menu is huge so it makes it hard to decide what you'd like to eat. The food was very good. Our server Mat was very attentive and very friendly. They've done a great job remodeling the restaurant and using a lot of browns. They have nice sayings on the wall. Very clean Restaurant and everyone is very friendly. I had heard from neighbors that it was good, so a group of five of us went on a Sunday morning to try it out. It was crowded, but not full, so we got to sit down right away. The food, atmosphere and the service is immaculate. It's rare to walk into a restaurant and not only your waitress, but the entire staff serves you. It's really affordable and the food is good quality. The restaurant is family owned so you get to see the whole family work and you can tell they're passionate about their work. Not sure who's leaving all these 4.9-star reviews, maybe they ate somewhere else, because what we got was straight-up awful. My eggs Benedict came out freezing cold, with actual ice shards on the tomatoes. Love a side of frostbite with brunch. There were three of us, and somehow every single meal managed to be cold and disgusting. My friend's BLT was swimming in mayo, and when he ordered a Dr Pepper, the server insulted him offering him a Diet Coke. Real classy. We complained, nothing was fixed, and we still got charged full price. For a place hyped up with nearly 5 stars, this was a total joke. If you're into cold food, bad service, and paying premium prices for disappointment, you'll love it here. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. read more

VERY extensive menu with many options. The 2x4 breakfast was delicious and I appreciated the option of pancake flavors. Also, sampled their biscuits & gravy! Wonderful lunch! My group of ladies at work made a reservation for 8 and we were sat immediately. The owner was kind and was sure to make sure we had everything we needed. There was complimentary soup in addition to the side salad I received with my club sandwich. It was delicious and came out quickly especially since we were a large group. Went this morning with my partner and it was nothing but a positive experience. Waitress was attentive and friendly. We both ordered steak and eggs and it was one of the best steaks I've had from a diner, fluffy eggs, potatoes looked and tasted like they were prepared in house. Will definitely be going again. My husband and I enjoyed one of the nicest and tastiest lunches we have had in some time. Service was impeccable, everything clean and concerns attended to immediately. Very friendly staff willing to help any way necessary. The remodel was done with an eye to relaxed atmosphere, quiet and peaceful. I had the crepes sampler and the fruit was so fresh I could have settled to a bowl of berries and been very happy but it was great to get to try all the crepes on one plate. I took my mother as first time customers. We were pleasantly greeted by Hope and her mother. The portions were generous, flavorful, nicely presented, and most importantly, the ingredients were fresh. The restaurant was extremely clean considering the fact the breakfast run had already occurred, but as former restaurant owners, we especially appreciated the clean bathrooms. We googled breakfast places after Easter service today. We went to this restaurant for brunch. The atmosphere was nice, clean and staff super friendly. I looked around and thought, "Hope" it has to been someone's name. The menu was great with lots of healthy options and served with healthy water too! Food was delicious we all enjoyed our meals. Towards the end of our meal a lady came to our table to see how we enjoyed our meals. I told her it was delicious and that Hope had to be someone's name. It was hers and she was the owner. Food was great & prices are very reasonable as well. Wasn't overly crowded too which was nice. Only complaint is that I'm a vegetarian (obvi ordered a vegetarian meal), and as we walked out the front noticed a sign that says "we cook everything in beef tallow" .
