Was in the area and This came up on a search. We love barbecue and thought this could be fun. It is located in the quaint town of Lincoln with some old shops next to it. Street parking, no parking lot. Came here for lunch on a Saturday Around 1pm. They were not busy at all and only two other customers besides us. We walk in and wait to be seated. Really like the ambiance. It's old school decor, a little dark but fun. We bot ordered sandwiches. Hubs got the brisket and I got the prime rib dip that came with a side. He upgraded the onion rings and I added a potato salad with my fries. Wait time was reasonable. Prices are average $20-25 pp. The meats were tender and flavorful with a hint of smokey. The sides are a little to be desired. The fries and onion rings were a tad overcooked and dry, no flavor. Nothing special. Potato salad was also undercooked and a little bit on the hard side. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. While waiting for our food, I was looking at their ice cream and she offered me free samples. Solid 4 stars. Great place to try and while I would return again, it was not WOW for me that I forgot about it until I saw this sitting in my pending drafts.

I had never been inside this building before. I know it has been multiple restaurants prior to the smokehouse it is now. Hops and hogs smokehouse looked really good online . I have been wanting to try it since they opened , which hasn't been too long ago. My son and I decided to have lunch here it was a Saturday the inside is very spacious with cool decor . They have a nice outside patio with misters for the hot weather. For food my son got their chicken strips and fries. I got onion rings and the flatbread called 3 little pigs . We also order the cornbread, which was delicious. It comes shaped as a waffle form. It comes with their homemade hot honey and butter. For drinks, my son got a lemonade. They have multiple lemonade flavors to choose one and they are all hand squeezed in house. I got myself a beer I love craft beers and luckily they had one from Slice one of my favorite breweries here in Lincoln. I believe it was called Immortal Haze . Everything was very delicious. The staff was all very nice and attentive. Overall we had a great experience. We would definitely be coming back. Glad to have more delicious food in Lincoln we needed a good smokehouse .

Hops & Hogs Country Smokehouse is located in downtown Lincoln on Lincoln Blvd. It is a spacious restaurant. Big menu. Breakfast menu is only available weekends (Friday to Sunday) 7 AM to 11:30 AM. You can order a variety of both nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks here, like lemonade, espresso, mimosas, green tea, and craft beer. On my first visit, I asked to sample a couple beers before choosing one, so that was helpful. Service was leisurely, perhaps forgetful, one late Saturday afternoon. I think I spent 2 hours there. I should have looked for a server to order and to pay, but I just waited. I had a table near the window, so that made it OK. I was one of 2 or 3 parties, so not busy at all. Service was fast and efficient on a Saturday morning, which was a peak time for customers. I was seated at a hard plastic booth table that had crumbs on seats on both sides of the table. I observed the busboy just wiping tables. During my first Saturday afternoon visit, I ordered the French Dip or Smoked Prime Rib Dip. Lots of tender, juicy meat. I don't think it was particularly flavorful despite the grilled onions and bacon jam. I should have visited the Condiment Cow to get some BBQ sauces or ketchup. The au jus was too salty to drink as soup, but it helped the prime rib in flavor. Attractive sandwich. My 2nd favorite French Dip in the Lincoln/Roseville area. I would give it 4 stars out of 5. The You Scream Ice Cream Pie was out of this world! It is made in-house: butter pecan and vanilla ice cream layers, Oreo cookie crust, Heath Bar crumble, chocolate and caramel syrups. It was huge enough to serve 3-4 people. I probably spent a half hour trying to finish it by myself. Great dessert to share with a family or friends. 5 stars! The Loco Moco is part of the breakfast menu. Although the thick burger patty was made of short Rib Chuck, it was dry or overdone to me. The rice had dry, crunchy grains in it and was too small a portion. The gravy was too salty. A little salt was even sprinkled on top of the dish. At $18, the Loco Moco wasn't worth it. The overeasy eggs were perfect and my favorite thing on the plate. 2 stars. Go for the ice cream pie and stick to the barbecued meats to have a good meal.

Found a new must-stop location for those coming to play poker multiple days at Thunder Valley and want to escape the grind. Just a few minutes away, down the original Highway 65, dive into fantastic BBQ, with excellent ribs, a burnt-ends treatment to their pork belly that works really well, and pastrami so good we may never get it anywhere else. Great selection on craft beers on tap, a full ice cream bar for desserts, and we need to go back because the breakfast menu looks amazing.

I used to come in here for breakfast all the time when this was the old kim's country kitchen. I decided to try it under the new owners. The meat was great, but there were several other issues. Having so many good things about their barbecue, I decided to try the pit, master hash. Pork, brisket, and pastrami With potatoes, red and green, bell peppers, and onions, along with two eggs. It also came with potatoes on the side, but I chose fruit. The food comes, and it was a decent size portion. The meats were very very good. I can see why people are raving over them. It came with one slice of a thick sourdough, which was also very very good. However, the rest of the meal just wasn't as great. The bowl of fruit, had a three dollar upcharge, There was some strawberries and pineapple on top, but underneath, there was nothing but grapes. There was also a dollar upcharge per egg. If they were listed on the menu, I did not see them, and nobody mentioned them to me. The bell peppers were both green and red, I don't mind a little bit of green bell pepper, but the peppers and the onions, were obviously overcooked. Because they had an acrid aftertaste to them. I asked for my eggs over easy, and instead, they were over well. There was hardly any yolk to them whatsoever. For all of this, food, drink, tax and tip, was just shy of $31, and that was after the military discount. You can have the greatest meat in the world, but if your supporting cast, doesn't stand up, then there's a problem. I may come back for lunch sometime, but for breakfast, probably not. I was disappointed. Thanks anyway.

Finally a nice outdoor location with patio. Loved it. Just needs better organizing. Great attentive servers. Slow service for a Sunday, but it's ok. Food was good, but took forever. Ended up taking it home. Otherwise its a cute spot in the back patio.

    Sorry. I couldn't help myself.

First visit and definitely not our last! We came to Hops & Hogs for the first time today and were blown away. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. Our server, Maria, was absolutely amazing -- super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. We tried the Brisket and Eggs, and the brisket was delicious, tender, and juicy -- cooked perfectly. We also ordered a side of sausage, which was packed with flavor, the Texas Philly Hash, which was hearty and full of great smoky taste, and the Lincoln Breakfast with scrambled eggs and crispy bacon just the way I like it. Every single dish was spot-on. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great breakfast or brunch in Lincoln. We'll definitely be coming back!

    Chicken Strips

The crispy chicken sandwich and chicken strips were basically frozen Tyson chicken from the freezer at your local grocery store. Service was good and we''ll give it one more try and order BBQ next time. Lemonade choices were good and my wife enjoyed hers. Don't expect too much from the beer selection. The best hazy IPA they had today was Numb Numb Juice.

Came here with my family and were wowed by the quality of the food, the portions, the prices and the service. My step dad ordered the brisket and eggs and said the brisket was tender and smoked well. My sister ordered the chicken fried steak and said it was delicious. I ordered the Cali Benedict. The hollandaise was fire and country potatoes were fresh with onions. Our server was attentive. We will definitely be back. Great hometown vibe.

Two item plate with brisket and pork belly. Num Num hazy ipa too!
    Super D.

Very reasonable for a BBQ place and significantly better than, say Lucille's. I ordered the two item bbq plate with brisket and pork belly. I recommend the corn side. I also gave them a suggestion to add BBQ pineapple cos it's the bomb! If they add it I take full credit! Nice small place with a full bar and even ice cream parlor.

Was so impressed with dinner and the BBQ that when we saw the breakfast items we knew we had to return. Only served Fri-Sun it did not disappoint! Fabulous options, great portions, very tasty! Still so many items on the menu, both breakfast and main meals, to try! Will be back many more times. Staff friendly and good service.

We visited Crooked Lane Brewery just to sample this family owned and operated food truck superstar. The sandwich board menu had some delish options so I'm thankful our party of 6 was able to order the perfect cross section of food. I chose the chicken philly, hubs got the ribs, kids were cheeseburgers all the way. My 75 years young aunt dared to try the jalapeño poppers. We all shared a bit to get a taste of everything. Chicken Philly was pretty darn tatsy. The bread was soft and fresh. I'm usually only a fan of the cole slaw I make but i had to try this bacon cole slaw. It was simply perfect! I would have never thought I would ever utter those words about cole slaw...pigs must be flying somewhere. Cheeseburgers were solid. Definitely a crowd pleaser. Poppers were good. Not the best ever but creamy and just enough kick. Ribs were "off the hook" said my grill master husband. He bbq's about 4 times a week and he can make anything on the grill taste fire!! They have a Two for Tuesday deal and late night Happy Hour too in terms of deals. Yes, the ice cream is phenomenal, but don't sleep on their French fries and sandwiches/burgers, and chicken tenders! Their signature crab sandwich is famous, and if you're into eating challenges, they have the "Ultimate Daddy Dave's Challenge" (25 minutes to finish a double bacon cheeseburger placed between two grilled cheese sandwiches, a side of fries, and a 3-lb banana split). Rich's Banana Split is a popular choice for sharing, as is the Black & Tan. Aside from their Special or Famous Creations menu, there are more basic Sundaes and Simple scoops/dishes of just ice cream without toppings. For a solo appetite, I'd recommend the Matthew's Sundae (2 scoops, up to 2 flavors) in the shorter glass or the Rachel's Sundae (taller glass, 2 scoops). They make their own sauces like the caramel and hot fudge, chocolate, or creamy peanut butter. Other toppings include marshmallow, pineapple, strawberries, raspberries, and as for nuts, you can ask for chopped almonds on the side (no peanuts). They have a nice variety of ice cream flavors, and usually some seasonal/special ones. Right now they had a midnight cookie monster, s'mores, and strawberry cheesecake. Anything with Oreo in it is a fave of mine: Mint Oreo, Coffee Oreo, Peanut Butter Oreo, Cookies 'N Cream. Just discovered their "1982" flavor as well: caramel ice cream base, fudge swirl, and Oreos! This was pretty good on its own, but would be better as a sundae. Service was very good although when ordering similar items with different flavors/toppings, it seemed to me like the one Matthew's Sundae that had strawberry cheesecake, birthday cake and caramel was overflowing while the one with Coffee Oreo, Peanut Butter Oreo and hot fudge scoops did not stand as high. I suppose it could have been the hot fudge doing its melting action. Second round, the scoops of peanut butter Oreo versus the 1982 in the same size dishes also did not have equal heighths. The luck of the scooper.
