Horn BBQ just proved that Fresno's food keeps getting better. We came during lunch time and we were quickly greeted at the door. Everyone was so nice and willing to talk about the menu or anything else really! I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and it came with one side. The sandwich had coleslaw and it was 10/10. It was huge, I barely ate half. Also I ordered the mac and cheese as a side... another 10/10! It was so cheesy! The place was playing some good throwback music. They checked in once in a while to make sure everything was ok! I can't wait to come again!

NOPE NOPE NOPE I was so excited to try this place. I walked in and was greeted and asked if it was take out or dine in. I advised dine in. I was told to go find a table, scan the QR Code and order through that system. I sat down and ordered. Waited 40 minutes as I thought a beef rib that I ordered would take some time to cook. I went to the counter and asked another lady about my order. She asked what table I was and I advised her. She was embarrassed to see that my order was pending in their system. When she said she saw my order, the original woman that greeted me said that the QR system sometimes doesn't work. Why would you have me try the QR system and not follow up. There was a family and two couples in the dining area and plenty of time to follow up. At that moment I knew my meal wouldn't be as enjoyable. I asked for my money and got it back. It's not hard to follow up if you know your system doesn't work. This is unacceptable and I will not return to this restaurant.

Couldn't wait to try this place out; love the aesthetic and setting of the restaurant. There is a stage area as well so I'm guessing they have live music on certain days. The staff were very welcoming and friendly from the second we walked in to the moment we left. We ordered all together (as most families do) so the food is served community style on the trays. I imagine if each person orders individually then you will get just your food on your own tray. Great food and great service!

I was scared of waiting in a long line per the other reviews, but we went on a Saturday shortly after opening and was able to sit at a table easily. You order via barcode on the table. First loss of a star is due to the wait time after ordering until the food hits your table. There were many empty tables with maybe 2-3 couples/small groups and we still got our food at the 35 minute mark despite showing up relatively early. Second star loss is due to our meat being cold! We ordered 2 separate combos: tri tip and brisket. The flavor was fine but definitely would have been better warm. This was a bit shocking because they barely just opened. AND we were super confused because the sides we ordered, Mac & cheese and collared greens, were piping hot! On the bright side, the Mac & cheese is a must order. I love how they used large shells as their pasta of choice. It holds all the cheese perfectly in every bite. I can do without the collared greens, but my boyfriend insisted, and he thought they were decent. Would I give them another chance? It's possible; I'd love to try their other sides.

Checked out this new BBQ spot in Fresno with a couple friends from work that's being run by a Michelin-rated chef and honestly, I was really impressed. You don't usually hear "Michelin" and "BBQ joint" in the same sentence so I had to see what the hype was about. First thing I noticed was how clean and put together the place felt without being stuffy. It still has that casual BBQ vibe, but you can tell there's some serious attention to detail going on. I ordered the brisket plate with mac and cheese. The brisket had a great bark and was super tender without falling apart into mush. Apparently you can ask them for a more lean brisket and I didn't know this so mine was a little too fatty for my liking. You can taste the quality of the meat. The mac and cheese was rich and creamy, maybe a little heavier than I prefer, but still really good. For a restaurant I'd say it was on point. Portions were solid and I left full and took home leftovers. Only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price point -- it's a bit higher than I wanted to spend on just one person. Not crazy, just something to know going in. Also the setup for ordering could be a little better. Line out the door but to order is right by the door so the outside line doesn't have to be so long out the door. Overall though, definitely worth trying if you want BBQ with a slightly elevated twist. I'll be back to try the ribs next time that's for sure and some not too fatty brisket.

1/4 pound of ribs, 1/4 pound of tri tip, and a quarter pound of brisket, a side of beans, Mac & cheese, cold slaw

Well, let's start off with the fact that they are new, still working out the kinks. But I was expecting much better service. We got there at 11:45, no line, they open at 12:00! Raining, freezing cold wind, could not wait to get hot coffee, surprise, they don't serve coffee! They opened the doors and directed us immediately to the carving station, we were told they had brisket, tri tip and ribs today. The people in front of us got a little of each so we followed their lead. It looked wonderful! Then the sides, bbq beans, greens, Mac and cheese, potato salad and peach cobbler. We got one of each to taste it. Then you have to order separate fountain drinks for an extra 3.50 no refills. You pay, and sit down with your tray. As they got more people they were given a number and sit and wait to order and wait. We were already eating. The Checker at the register was rude and acted like I was bothering her when I asked a question, that she could not answer. We sat down and got everything we needed to eat our lunch. We were never given a menu, nor were told that if you order a sandwich you get a free side! Now, let's talk about the food! It smells amazing! The brisket was not tender, it needed to slow cook longer; the tri tip was perfect when he sliced it but cooked more before we sat down, the rub had an odd spice in it, not my favorite. The ribs were very good, as were the bbq beans, but the beans needed to cook a couple more hours to soften a bit. Great flavor however. The cold slaw blah, nothing special, I like it better at KFC. The Mac & cheese was very good, nice and cheesy. Well done! The potato Salad is very plain, although the potatoes are cooked well and taste creamy. They need to step up seasoning and add more ingredients to all salads. Corn and extra bbq sauce would be good too. Hope it all gets better with time. We took the cobbler home to eat, It was flavorful, but was gummy, and under baked not enjoyable. Sorry not good! They only have plastic utensils not good for meat! Drinks only Pepsi products. And they don't serve coffee! I'll wait a month or two and go back and see if they improve. Happy eating!

First time here and it had only been open for 3 weeks, so let's keep this in mind. Being a fan of all kinds of BBQ and hearing that a new place had opened created a sense of excitement for me, so tonight was the night to explore the world of flamed cook meats. As you can see from the pictures there was an assortment of items to choose from with the brisket being my main focus, very tender and moist and I did cut it with my plastic fork, The pulled pork normally comes with a layer of slaw but on this occasion it was absent (a regret later) the sandwich was a tad flat but with the barbecue sauce on the table it added the needed flavor (the slaw would of helped). Regarding the sides, Mac n cheese has to be the most popular and the texture is smooth as it should be, a smokey flavor for sure and not too salty. The potato salad was typical and you can't go wrong ordering it but the collard greens were much different than I've had, I bit salty for me but worth a try. The service was absolutely a joy and the help was professional and courteous, for not having their liquor license the place was a buzz with people and the sounds of delight filled the room. Speaking of the room, the decor was appropriate to the theme and they even have a stage for live music. I'll come back after awhile to see if the menu changes or some slight adjustments are made and hopefully the liquor license will be granted and a nice cold beer will be included in the mix. My advice is to give it a try and see if you agree with me on a few things.

We finally made it to Horn Barbecue in Fresno a couple of weeks after opening, once the initial hype had died down. We arrived around 2:30 PM, so it was much quieter than what I imagine peak lunchtime looks like. That part was nice, no rush, plenty of time to look over the menu and decide. One immediate downside: not everything they offer is listed on the menu. As we were ordering, we were told there were additional items available that weren't posted. My friend ended up ordering two items he didn't even know existed. For a place at this price point, the menu experience should be clearer. Order: T* Beef rib T* Brisket T* Spicy hot link (no sides) K* 1/2 lb smoked turkey K* Side of beans * In-house pickled onions & house-made pickles(free) My best friend's total for three cuts of meat came out to just under $79. My meal was just under $19. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the hype, or the Michelin Bib distinction. The turkey was average, landing somewhere between moist and almost overdone. I've had far better smoked turkey elsewhere (sadly, not in California). The hot link was decent with some heat, but nothing memorable, definitely not better than what you can get at The meat market. The brisket was very tender, but lacked flavor. We had to add salt, pepper, and barbecue sauce just to give it some life. The standout was the beef rib, fall-off-the-bone tender and actually flavorful. Easily the best thing we tried. The beans, however, were a miss. They weren't cooked long enough, lacked tenderness, and were overwhelmingly sweet. Way too heavy on brown sugar. I was hoping for something more savory with peppery depth, but instead they tasted like dessert beans, which just isn't my thing. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, and the ambiance is nice. That said, parts of it felt unfinished. The bar area looked incomplete, and they didn't offer fountain sodas, only canned sodas for $3 each, which feels excessive. There's a stage for live musicians, which I'm sure is great when the place is busy. Overall, it felt like the restaurant was rushed to open before everything was fully dialed in. I really wish they offered a mixed platter option with smaller portions so you could sample items before committing, because if you want to try a variety here, you'll easily spend well over $100, and that's a lot to gamble on food that was mediocre at best. Sadly, this was a swing and a miss for us. We could've gone to a steakhouse, had a more satisfying meal, and still had money left over for dessert and drinks. Hopefully, as time goes on, they refine the menu, add more appealing sides, and finish building out the experience, because right now, the hype outweighs the execution.

2 beef ribs , mac n cheese, collard greens, peach crumble

Amazing to have an award winning barbecue here in Fresno. Located right on Cedar and Dakota right next to Me-n-Ed's. The line was quite long on a Friday night just a few days after it had opened. The order: I got two beef ribs which is about $45 per beef bone. It was sooo juicy, bone falls right off, tender, and the seasoning was great. The Mac n cheese were delicious. I really enjoyed the creaminess and flavor of it. The collard greens were just a bit too salty for me. For dessert I got the peach cobbler that really topped me off. The peaches were nicely cooked down and sweet. The crust and crumbs on top had a slightly browning , super good. I really wanted to try the brisket but they didn't have any. Will have to come back some other time for that. It was a packed house, and there were people dancing. The restaurant has a striking ambiance, I think it looks really cool.

Good the first time. Not so much the second time around . Came in on a Thursday and the place was empty. Should have been a sign. Service was nice but man it's gone down hill so quickly

We tried to go here a week ago but by the time we got there, they were sold out. Decided to come back on a Saturday and waited an hour in line. There were maybe 8-10 parties in front of us. By the time we actually got inside and was about to order, there was a person in front of us that kept asking so many questions about the taste of the meat even though it wasn't their turn to order (there were people still ordering in front of her). They ended up giving her samples of meat to try which I felt was unfair. Now mind you, while we were waiting, employees would come out to update us on what they still had in stock. While we were ordering, they didn't have pork ribs, tri-tip or coleslaw. This was disappointing but we understood since we came later in the day. By the time we got to the register and paid, they all of a sudden had pork ribs and coleslaw again. We also noticed people who were sitting down after us got slices of bread. It's frustrating that their selection fluctuates that much. If you say you're out of it, how do you magically have some 10 mins later? There's no way we'd go back in line and wait another hour to order more either. The setup they have is inconvenient and the employees don't know what they're doing. There's only one person cutting the meat to order, one person writing a ticket to go with your order, and one person serving sides. We were told we get 3 sides, we just wanted Mac and cheese and beans. I asked the lady who was serving the sides if we can just get a 16oz of Mac & cheese and 8oz of beans. She asked her coworker if that was allowed and he said no, we'd have to order three 8oz sides. At this point I'm annoyed so I just ask her to give it to us in 2 separate containers if that's the case. As for the actual food, the pulled pork seemed to be dry. They also don't have it in barbecue sauce already so it was different than I've had before. The Mac and cheese and brisket were the best parts. The beans were hard and undercooked. My brother in law got the $45 beef rib and it was overcooked. Random note but the lights were flickering the whole time we were there and it got to be annoying. Overall, if the new restaurant hype dies down and it doesn't take an hour to order, we'd probably just go back for the brisket and mac and cheese. The food just didn't meet our expectations and we've had better experiences at other places.

My little family and I visited today for dinner, day after Grand Opening just around 5pm. Thankfully not busy. It'a our first time here my husband and I love a good bbq and was ecstatic to hear they opened business here! Located next to Me N Ed's first you line up to order then take your seat or to-go. The menu is simple and they prepare your food in front of you. We were excited to try their chicken, brisket and beef ribs but the kind gentleman said they've been busy since they opened for 5 hours straight with the lines out the door that they sold out of everything except turkey, pulled pork and smoked ribs. Our order 1/2lbs of pulled pork and smoked ribs. Sides: greens, mac n cheese and pit beans. The smoked ribs were perfection, beautifully glazed and it was so tender. The pulled pork had so much flavor. The sides greens were a bit on the salty side. The Mac n cheese were cheesy my toddler devoured it. The pit beans were a combination of sweet and salty. But everything was delicious! Beautiful sleek interior with lights and plenty of seating. The staff is so nice. Would definitely return. Plan to come early as they can and will sellout.

This place lives up to the hype. The moment you walk in, the vibe is on point, clean, modern, and built for a proper BBQ experience. The food was insane. The ribs and brisket were tender, smoky, and packed with flavor. Easily some of the best BBQ I've had in town. Customer service was top tier. Even with a long line, the staff stayed friendly, helpful, and welcoming the whole time. Only small downside is the cashier line moves a bit slow, but that's expected when a spot is this popular. Still absolutely worth the wait. I'll definitely be back.

They also sell tons of of imported goods like olive oil, canned sauce, and marinades. The staff is friendly and you can eat your sando on their front patio or take it go!
