I love this restaurant, especially around Halloween. They have the best themed cocktails. Food is very good, diner style.

Would love to review, but we ended up walking out. I made a reservation with a preference to sit outside. I let the hostess know when we walked in. She went to seat us as a small table in the middle. I asked for a table near a wall, as it was pretty empty. she said those were for reservations. she said she can sit at a wall table.. we weren't thrilled, but we did. A waitress came over and asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. No greeting, no asking if we wanted a drink, nothing. My husband who grew up in this town decided to leave. It was not a friendly environment. Again, we had a reservation and it was only 6pm.. Not crowded at all!

Absolutely fun place to visit. Went on a Halloween weekend and the place did not disappoint. Old school decor and atmosphere and the staff were all friendly and attentive. Food was fresh and delicious and did not take long to come out. One hour wait to get in, this place is popular. Had the burger and fries here and it was honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had in my life. So good! Also tried one of their pumpkin ale beers which also hit the spot very nicely and I don't usually even drink beer. Looking around inside is like a little monument to everything spooky and classic. Take the time to check out this spot you will not regret it. I will definitely return.

Another 5 star review. Half BBQ ribs. So good (it's on the appetizer menu) with mashed potatoes and horse radish. And the Stonington Scallops over rigatoni. With bacon and cream sauce. I could seriously drink the cream sauce and be happy! This. Is. Da. Place!

I visited this place late September so it was starting to get a little busy based on the start of spooky season. They do not take reservations so keep that in mind if you want to visit. The inside is amazing and set up perfectly for the fall and the town of Sleepy Hollow itself! I loved all of the details. I ordered a black garlic and cheddar burger and let me tell you, this burger lives absolutely rent free in my head. It was the BEST burger I've ever had. Ever. I need to make a trip back here just for this burger. Awesome little joint with great food. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Knowing we'd be here for Halloween weekend, we looked up places to eat and this one came up at the top of every list. With good reason! We walked in just before lunch rush kicked in, got seated right away, and had tasty cocktails in hand quick! Being torn on what to order for lunch, I went back and forth before one of the servers convinced me that the boneless bbq ribs on a bun were the way to go, and a side of horseradish mashed potatoes too! Dang, it was good! The ambiance was old school tavern meets Halloween, all the servers mingled through the room helping whoever was closest at the moment. This place was great. Two thumbs up!

Current review from Jan 2026: Mediocre and expensive bar. Sure the beer list is fairly long but they're all mediocre choices and all in bottles or cans, not a single draft. $7-9 for a 12oz can of nothing special and they didn't even have the 2nd or 3rd things I ordered. The barback who greeted me had a personality but after he walked away, the bartender was inattentive and devoid of personality. Overall, it got worse since my last visit albeit this time was only the bar and no food as I couldn't bring myself to their price point for a snack while I sipped overpriced meh beers. Still 2-stars, so maybe not as inconsistent as I thought, just not that good period. My original review from 2016 - 2-stars: Really inconsistent. I want to love the place as I have fond memories from my childhood of a place with the same name, that I can't even swear is the same establishment. The place has no tap beers, and pretty big offering of acceptable but not actually desirable bottle beers. I'd rather drink tasty choice brews from my fridge at home.

My group and I arrived at Horsefeathers at 6:20pm on a Friday night, and it was packed, with people on the waitlist standing outside. We had a reservation but were running a few minutes late because the parking lot behind the restaurant was full, so we got street parking at the nearby public park and walked. We were sat in a cozy wooden booth at the back of the restaurant, which was all decked out with cute halloween and fall decorations! The seasonal menu was also filled with ciders and donuts to match the autumn vibe. As it was packed and busy, the server took a while to get to us for our order, and then it was again quite a long wait for the food to arrive. It was 6:24 when we were seated, and when I received my food, it was 7:12. I thankfully wasn't that hungry, but my group was starving when we got there, so next time we'll make sure to take the long wait time into account. I ordered a cold apple cider and a turkey pot pie, and both were very good for the price! Everyone else loved the burgers and chili, which I'll have to try next time! This place is apparently an institution, so I'll definitely be coming back to try their other popular menu items!

It feels like you stepped into history. What I mean by that, is that the books and artifacts within this restaurant come straight from the 1800s. It's so charming inside, a little gloomy and that's just what it needs. As far as the food, forget it, everything you order is delicious and some meals feel like thanksgiving. The staff is so knowledgeable and attentive, even let you sit inside to cool off, even if doors aren't still open.

We had the calamari to start and it had tasty batter, the calamari itself was soft and I actually liked it. For my entree I had the Cheese It burger. This was one of the best burgers that I ever had!

We haven't been to a Horsefeathers in many years and this was great! There is parking out back of the building, but it is at your own risk. There is street parking you pay for at the meter. The atmosphere was nice and I loved the old books and the vintage building, it was nice. Our waiter was excellent, friendly and attentive. The food was awesome. My burger was spot on and tasted great and my sweet potato fries were perfectly salted and crispy. My husband said his food was very good. The portions were decent sized with the price we paid, which are similar to other places we have been. We shared the Strawberry Shortcake and it was with fresh strawberries and a real old fashioned biscuit! Everything was great and glad we stopped by!

I love it here! Service is always super quick, kind and patient with our litter kids. Burgers are great but I really like the chicken wing appetizer. Great value too!

Their rating is well earned - doing everything right - amazing service, super groovy old wood cozy vibe, 60s soul music videos on TV, & the food is killing - too many good things to try ...but the salads, chowders, scallops, burgers, & sandwiches all were fire - the desserts & coffees also looked amazing - that will be on the return trip in winter !

They're also committed to cutting out the middleman, such as a store, market, or distributor. Located in the heart of Tarrytown on Main Street, we decided to meet up for brunch at Sweet Grass Grill. The reservation was easily made via Yelp. Al fresco seating filled the sidewalks in front of the dog-friendly eatery, and the open door allows chitchat to move freely in and out, creating a lively yet comfortable vibe. Upon entering as first-timers, the wooden bar commands attention, where my partner, his family, and I were greeted by the staff. The bar top is made from a slab of wood salvaged from a single fallen oak tree on the Rockefeller Preserve. We got a cozy table at the front window inside a bright, airy interior with earthy accent colors. Their menu features rustic New American cuisine with many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options that change with the seasons. We decided on the Veggie Buffalo "Wings" with a side of fries, the Grass-Fed Cheeseburger, the Mushroom "Cheesesteak," and Maine Mussels. Complimentary vegan banana bread started our meal. Every dish at our table was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and full of flavor. Reasonable price, and the service was attentive, warm, genuinely welcoming, and patient. Our server was Terence. Voted Best of Westchester, it was a wonderful experience, and we can't wait for a repeat performance.

Even though this was not a vegan dish, who could pass on a collosal cheese biscuit. The egg was a nice accompaniment to this cheese biscuit also. The lady that gave me the biscuits said, wow! The menu(s) had a wonderful selection of food and drinks, along with some specials. They do use a QR code for their menus, but noticed they also had paper menus upon request. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other members of staff would also check in as they passed by. My boyfriend enjoyed the PB & J Latte along with the creole shrimp Benedict. He said it was seasoned well, right level of spice, stated the eggs were poached perfectly, and really enjoyed how moist the cornbread was. I indulged with the "Tipsy Palmer" which is an Arnold Palmer with Bourbon in it. To be honest, there wasn't much of a bourbon taste to it, if any at all, but for a summer brunch drink, it was refreshing. For my entree, I chose the chicken Caesar sliders. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as the brioche buns seemed a little on the stale/stiff side. The homemade caesar dressing was delicious, but they only coated the lettuce in it which resulted in a bit of a dry slider. I believe the sliders would benefit from a bit of the dressing at least on the bottom of the bun. I asked for (and received) a side of the dressing to bring home to dress up my remaining sliders. Lastly, and I know this is extremely minor, but the silverware was placed incorrectly (knife and fork reversed with the knife edge in the wrong direction). Again, I am WELL AWARE this is minor, but for me, sometimes the minor details are the things that stand out. Overall, a wonderful experience and will try them again at a later date.

There is a lot of parking available which was great. Upon arriving I noticed right away the outdoor seating was in full swing and I loved how close to the water it was but we opted for indoor seating this time around. I will say we had looked at previous reviews beforehand and had made our choices but, upon checking the menu, it had changed so that was a let down. For appetizers we started with the edamame, ricotta crostini and the soup of the day which was chickpea and escarole. It was a bit strange seeing edamame on their menu but it was deliciously seasoned with the furikake and garlic oil. The ricotta crostini was lackluster. I was expecting a bit of sweetness from the grapes but they just seemed watery once you bit into them. The soup was also just ok a bit under-seasoned. For our entrees we got the chicken Milanese, fried chicken Cesar sandwich, the gnocchi pasta with a side of meatballs and the turkey c.b.a. The chicken Milanese had a wonder salad atop the chicken with all the fixings and the feta cheese added for a nice creamy salty bite. The fried chicken Cesar sandwich was just that. A fried chicken cutlet and Cesar salad stuffed into a brioche bun served with thin cut fries. Can never go wrong with a Cesar salad. The pasta was definitely the star of this meal. The soft pillows of the gnocchi pasta paired with the robust tomato sauce was delicious and with the added meatballs added for a hearty meal. The Turkey C.B.A was such a let down. It literally looked like those sandwiches that come in plastic but just plated. For such a nice restaurant that dish definitely gotta go. For dessert we got the Key Lime Pie and the Profiteroles without chocolate. (There was an allergy at the table). The key lime was perfectly tart and the graham crust gave this nutty goodness that was just delicious. The profiteroles were also so yummy with the crunchy puff pastry, creamy ice cream and then the cherries and candied almonds made for a perfect dessert. While I can appreciate a restaurant changing up their menu often, there are some dishes that should stay put!
