This was the first pho restaurant I tried since moving from California and it did not disappoint. The broth flavor of their pho is decent and it came with all the toppings. We also tried spring rolls which were pretty good as well. The downside was my dad had ordered a Tra Mat Ong (shaken iced tea) and they forgot about it.. twice! We reminded them halfway through the meal but they never brought it out. It wasn't until towards the end of our meal when we reminded them again. I've had many a pho because...Seattle. This one was okay, but not my favorite. The service was friendly and quick and since I was on lunch from work, that's perfect. I ordered the spring rolls and a regular size pho. The spring rolls were good...pretty much like you can get anywhere else. The peanut sauce didn't stick well so definitely use the spring roll to scoop more than dip. The pho was good. It seemed to be a bit short on some of the spices (i.e. anise) that I really like about other pho locations. But overall it hit the spot. It was cold outside so it was cold inside. Seating space is somewhat limited so get there early for lunch. I got there about 11:15 and didn't have a problem. The entrance on 2nd is currently next to some construction, but you don't have to walk through it to enter the restaurant. One concern is the step going up to the door. It's literally one step and its a foot tall. For most folks, this won't be an issue, but as I was leaving there was an elderly woman who needed two people to help her get down to the sidewalk. We stopped in here looking for some relief from the cold and rain. Definitely found it in the huge warm bowl of pho I ordered. Just like what you would expect in any other Pho place - the service is not super friendly or attentive but that is exactly what I am used to from other Pho places around Eastside, therefore it does not surprise me as it is really the same at all other Pho places I go to. The waiters simply ask for your order and then deliver it. That is it, end of the process, but what else do you really need? Pho is typically in and out experience for both - dinner and lunch, so I do not need anybody trying to make a small chat and cheering my day up. The most important thing is the Pho itself which they got under their belt. The food here is very tasty and also inexpensive especially for Seattle and for the fact that this place is located in downtown. I would definitely recommend Hot As Pho and hope to come back soon. read more

I eat here sometimes, but not often enough to be recognized. When I do, I typically only get the Bahn Mi, not because the other items are bad, but I came to the conclusion that I don't feel satisfied at the price for dining out and paying a tip. Their bahn mi is pretty good but basic, and they usually make me crave a different bahn mi from someplace else which has more generous amounts of meat, or a rich liver pâté. It would be nice if they had a premium version, but I don't have any suggestions in what to put in (sorry owners). A couple notes I wanted to post as a response to for the other reviews posted here. I've never been to any parts of Asia, so I don't know how "authentic" the place is, but people who care about that are dumb and have weird expectations. One person reported an insect - that's pretty concerning to me, and I don't doubt that it happened, but for what it's worth, the most recent king county health inspection from 2/12/2020 shows they have a score of 0, which is the best score a restaurant can receive - and their overall score which is averaged on all their violations has them ranked at excellent. To the owner: I tried to come get food today, but your restaurant is closed on Saturday's. I can see that the business hours have been updated on Yelp within the last week or so, but this day off wasn't added. Update the page... maybe I'll swing by tomorrow. Solid and basic Pho spot across from Target. Unlike Target, this place is family run and has a certain charm to it. The Pho had a good broth, although not really nuanced. I enjoyed the fixings. This place is great. Service is prompt and on point. With my girlfriend- we had tofu banh mi, chicken pho and the calamari. All of the dishes were great, especially considering the price point. Also, the server who was wearing a shoreline community college shirt has great hustle. The guy busses all of his tables quickly and is there when you need him. Will definitely be back. read more

This is not a good place to get pho. It tastes very basic and plain. They don't have Vietnamese spices/sauces like every other authentic place I've been, so the broth is what you get. Additionally, parts of the rice paper of my spring rolls were chewy. I told the cashier that I did not enjoy my food (I did not have more than 3 bites) and the bowl was full yet she still charged me $20. If you get here early enough the pho broth could be used to brew your tea because it has no flavor... you get it? It's so flavorless it's like water and you need water to brew tea! Hilarious! This place is horrible and unsanitary. As I was finishing my bowl of pho I noticed a dead fly in my soup. When I brought it up to the manager/owners attention she just shrug her shoulders and said it probably just fell in. Um, excuse me? She then made it felt like I didn't want to pay for my meal of $8.99. You're kidding right? That's the cheapest bowl of pho I've had. That wasn't the point, to have a bug of any sort appear out of your soup is just plain disgusting and not except-able. To make matters worst, I gave her my payment and she proceed to throw the change back at me and said " keep your change, I don't want your business, we don't need people like you here". I've been ignored multiple times that I went here - once, I was put in the back underneath their loud TV and witnessed two tables who came in after me being served before me. I went in with coworkers as well once and they did the same to our largely Indian table; they even grabbed the (new) waiter who was in the middle of taking our order and told him to take someone else's instead. The owner claims it was because the other table came first - OK, then can you explain why I've had multiple instances of others who came after being served first? Had high hopes for this pho place based on the reviews, but was a bit skeptical since it was smack dab in the middle of the tourist area and not in the International District. Service was good I give it that. Food, on the other hand, was not. Pho noodles were cooked well, but the broth was bland. Had to put a ton of fish sauce and hoisin in there to taste anything.
