Too hurried. Doctor does not explain the test results. Walks in, looks in my eyes and barely spoke to me. Office staff not very friendly.

Wait time is ridiculous! With the average age of the patients being at least 70 years old, waiting…read morefor 3 hours is overkill. This is a human based business let's not over-schedule to make more money. The doctors are good surgeons, the office staff is hit or miss. They come to the edge of the overcrowded, not enough seats, waiting area and then whisper, may patients are hard of hearing, both patient names (first and last) which I think is a HiPPA violation. After they dilate your eyes they throw you back in the over-lit, overcrowded waiting room. This is not OK.

My experience is the same for most medical specialists I have seen. Specialists are busy and have lots of moving pieces in their practice that are unexpected and cannot be scheduled ahead of time. Specialists perform surgeries and skilled procedures that often are unpredictable. All it takes is one of the pieces to not move as it should and it sets off a chain reaction for all of the others in their day. There are post-surgical and urgent care issues that arise with their patients which have to be worked into an already full appointment schedule of patients. You don't have these kinds of situations as much with a primary care physician, but I sure have with any surgeon I see. Dr. Koop, his front and back staff, as well as, the surgical coordinator is swamped every day with full waiting rooms, emergency phone calls, etc and I think they handle it with grace and a pleasant demeanor. I have always had my questions and concerns addressed to my satisfaction and phone calls have been returned in a timely manner, as well. This is an experienced and well-run eye practice that you can trust to care for your sight.

I have been seeing her since 2006 after receiving a recommendation from the NATIONAL EYE INSTITUTE in Bethesda, Md. after a failed clinical trial with them due to a medication allergy. After that, I began driving to the medical center from my home in Corpus Christi. I have since moved to Houston and her office is not far. The office staff is great. Dr. Kim and her entire staff have made it possible for me to be able to do everything I need to do to enjoy my life. I can see very well. Thank you Dr. Kim and your entire staff.

I called the, was on hold for about 15 minutes, then they wanted me to leave a message for call back. Never heard from anyone. Called several times again, same experience. I spent more than 2 HOUS (Yes, more than 2 hours) on the phone to talk to someone to get an appointment. This is the record of POOR patient - customer service. Will anyone listen - read this and respond? I gave them one star because there is no ZERO star.

This was our first experience with HEA. At first glance, I thought this was a standard office building that HEA was renting a space or two out of. Nope. Instead, they own the entire building. With that in mind, they really offer everything you could want and need relating to eye care, from optometry to all your different ophthalmologic subspecialties. My mom was here for a recommended annual visit. We went to the second floor. The front desk staff was nice and prompt in getting us checked in. Highly recommend doing the previsit info through your phone so you can be settled in faster. We arrived a bit earlier than her appointment and waited about 10 minutes before being called in, earlier than the scheduled time which was great. The provider who did the initial the initial tests was informative and efficient. She explained all of the tests as she did them and without much issue. Before you knew it, we were already back in the waiting room for Dr. Lim to go over all of the tests that my mom did. Similarly, Dr. Lim was thorough and took the time to educate us on what was going on along with his professional recommendations. My mom felt comfortable making a decision once everything was done. After getting checked out, there is luckily an eyeglasses store on the ground level. We did not opt for prescription glasses there (yet) but the folks there were also friendy. Overall, as our first experience with HEA, it was great and superb in every facet. Shoutout to Dr. Lim and the staff in his clinic on April 14th.
