Me and my husband dropped in for a quick lunch at the bar and the food was pretty good. It was weird that I couldn't add a piece of salmon to the Caesar salad so I just order a grilled salmon lunch. The homemade croutons was the highlight of the Caesar salad for me. They were so good. I also got a margarita which was good and only one was needed. I'll definitely be back! read more

We arrived on a Friday night a bit after 6 pm and we were told the first seating was available at 7:30 pm, which would be a 75-minute wait. We most likely would have left but we had a gift card to use. They took our phone number which they would text us when our table was ready and they suggested we stay in the lobby if the off chance our table would be ready sooner. Our experience with the staff was snooty and ridiculous. We left to do an errand and were back 20 min later with still plenty of time until our table was ready. We went to the bar to get a drink but all the chairs around the bar were full. We ordered drinks and wanted to order an appetizer but we were told since we don't have a chair at the bar we couldn't get an app. I asked if we could take the app outside but they don't allow food outside either unless the manager approves the request, which is very unlikely. We can take our drinks outside though. 65 minutes later we were seated in a booth by the bar. The service was quick and the food was good. The grilled artichoke was delicious. The Hawaiian filet was very fatty and there was a lot of fries but they were cold and not great. The ribs were fall off the bone good. We did like the hot towels to wash our hands before dinner and after the artichoke appetizer. If the maitre wasn't such a snob we might come back, but no future plans to return. read more

Always a great time at Houston's from the food to the service. The 3.5 average rating is frankly unreasonable and indicative of the insatiable clientele, not the restaurant or service. I wanted to highlight the exceptional service we received in our visit, especially since we had a mild issue in the beginning. We had a reservation but had to wait almost 30 minutes after to get seated. 1) the hostess came over to us to explain that we weren't being skipped, they just only had 2 tops available at that time and apologized for the delay. 2) when we were finally sat, we were sat by the manager on duty who was extremely apologetic and kind. He offered us an appetizer which we accepted and he brought it out IMMEDIATELY. We weren't sat for more than 2 minutes before he personally delivered it himself. We got our drinks extremely quickly and our server Brent (I think) was flawless. Food was amazing as always no complaints. Restaurants are better judged by how they handle mishaps or deviations from their norm and Houston's Boca is as good as it gets. Thank you to the manager and the team! read more

I had a deeply disappointing experience at The Houstons in Boca Raton on Feb 20 at 6:45 PM. My party of four ordered three ruby red trout specials ( that comes with shrimp) and one that does not ,I specifically requested lemon butter sauce on the one with no shrimp, which our server assured me was no problem, with no mention of an extra charge. My wife later requested extra sauce due to an insufficient amount on hers which comes with sauce. Also we ordered the ribs . When the bill arrived, there was no charge for the sauces. However, after questioning a $5 overcharge on my dish, the bill was mysteriously modified--now showing a $4 charge for sauce ($2 for mine, $2 for my wife's), a $5 reduction for the fish, and only a $1 credit. The fact that charges were added after I raised concerns feels dishonest. Manager Caroline and GM Jordan handled the situation with a dismissive and unprofessional attitude, making the experience frustrating and embarrassing. As a longtime Houstons customer, I expected better transparency and service. I will be disputing the charge and will not be returning. read more

The service was excellent as usual, I have been going to Houston's for over 30 years. at least they don't rush you out of your seat like they used to 15 or 20 years ago, by continuously asking you if you wanted anything else even if you stayed five or 10 minutes after eating they wanted you out of your seat. Everything is perfect about your restaurant, including the service except one thing which is the horrible horrible change of recipe of your peanut vinaigrette kale salad. We tried reaching out to Corporate, but they don't reply to our emails and they have discontinued the ability to speak with them directly on the phone so maybe you all can forward messages to them to bring back the old kale salad that was just mostly kale with mint and maybe a little cilantro lots of peanuts wonderful crumble cheese on top But now it's just a mouthful of horrible white cabbage with no flavor! read more

Although consistent and food very good - their portions are comparable to a kid's meal portions of McDonald's. Artichoke dip which is second to none with great dip and salsa is combatted by what 12 or so tortilla chips! Although they will give you more it's obnoxious to give so few for $20! (Yes $20). The burger size is a joke - while good - the $25 price tag for a size similar to a McDonald's hamburger is ridiculous. And the $12 miniature baked potato? They are pricing themselves beyond reason. I went for the prime rib sandwich. A favorite. This time I noticed that the meat had fat not trimmed (grizzled) The manager said that was just part of the thin slices and adds to the flavor. We wanted to take food out from Houston's Boca. I called to find out if this would be possible. I was told that they don't take Orders over the phone and that I should come in and order while at the bar. I drove 7 miles, walked in, sat down at the bar and a very nice bartender came over and handed me a menu. I told him that I would like to order food to take away and that I was told to come in and place the order. No problem he said. Then a second bartender came over and said they do not offer food to take out. At that point I asked to speak to the manager. Cold stone faced woman who I repeated my story to. I said why don't you bring over the receptionist who told me to drive over. Refused. Very poor way to treat a patron. If you are heading to Houston's for their veggie burger... don't! This was one of the worst veggie burger I have ever eaten. The bun is way too thick, the burger falls apart when you pick it up, and the taste is simply not good. Also, the kale salad with peanut dressing, has mustard in the dressing, which makes it taste disgusting. If you want a good veggie burger, go to Lazy Dog in West Boca, plus the cucumber side salad is amazing! read more

We love the food, service and atmosphere at Houston's. It's one of our go-to "occasion" dinner place! I love their chicken salad. It is SO good! Of course, the French Dip is also a favorite. We went to Houston's Boca for our anniversary and it was a great experience. The food was delicious, nice ambiance, and the service was impeccable! It was really nice having such attentive wait staff; drinks and food arrived in a timely manner, and empty plates and glasses got removed from the table almost immediately. It's been a while since I've had such great service so I was appreciative. Tips: If you're looking to sit at the bar and watch sports, this is not the place because they only have 1 TV that I could see. Next house chopped salad in now not chopped and kale is not baby kale In salad but regular kale , not the same . I ate roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. I have yet to have a bad experience at this restaurant. The menu is extensive and all of the dishes are excellent. There is a reason this location is always packed... the food and atmosphere are great. We ran into a few friends who had different fish entrees which they loved. I usually have the ribs and the slaw, but chose the salmon which was outstanding. The filet was huge and I barely finished. My wife also had the same thing and she couldn't finish it, but she loved it. The service was extremely attentive and the drinks were perfect. It is TOO DAMN COLD IN THIS RESTAURANT. Every single time I go, including tonight, I overhear at least three other people complain about how uncomfortable it is bc it is so ice cold. After looking on & off throughout the day I found someone canceled so I nabbed that time. Great dinner spot with excellent menu options and service. Waitress we had was welcoming and friendly. Started off with the emerald kale & rotisserie chicken salad and it's seriously one of the best salads I've ever had. Kale is sliced up nicely, not too chewy or fibrous. Dressing is awesome and flavorful and it had the perfect amount for the salad; portion is also plentiful as well. Got the rotisserie chicken for my meal and it was also delicious. Tender and juicy; apricot glaze gave the chicken great carmelization. Tabbouleh salad served alongside was a bright and fresh tasting accompaniment with it. Side of creamed corn was nicely seasoned, corn tasted very fresh, and had a nice consistency; not too thick or overly rich.
