Tl,dr: Rude, unresponsive, utterly unhelpful. Horrible experiences multiple times. I actually go out of my way to not have to deal with them. Long Version: My car wouldn't start and it's pretty new (2022 Accord) I've had it for less than a year and a half and it was new when I purchased it. I'm aware it's probably just the battery but my car is still under warranty so I wanted to have it towed to the dealership to get it checked out. Howdy Honda already wasn't my first choice from prior bad experiences with them when I was trying to purchase my car, but Honda Roadside assistance wouldn't tow to Honda of San Marcos like I asked. I called the service department no less than 10 or 11 times starting from 8 AM and I think my last try was around 5:30 PM. I wanted to see if it was okay to just get my car towed in or if I needed to make an appointment - got the voicemail every single time and no one ever called me back. Eventually I called the sales department where a woman answered and when I inquired about if the service department was open I was immediately met with attitude. 'Did you ever think that maybe they aren't answering because there busy?' in a condescending baby voice - of course I know they're busy, but to the point of being unable to answer the phone all day??? I explained to her that no one had gotten back to me throughout the entire day and she agreed to take my name and number and walk it back to service - in the same condescending tone. I gave her the information and she said "I'll put this in someone's hand who is free and has time to talk to you" in that same tone and then promptly hung up in my face. Needless to say, I doubt my info ever got back to service and I still never got a call back. That's why I'd rather drive the 30 miles to San Marcos that drive around the corner to come to this atrocious dealership. read more

Shady business. Went to trade in my 2018 Honda Civic and lease a new one. The process should've been easy and transparent but it was nothing but. The finance guy Duane tried to sneak a package onto my lease. He straight up lied and said that all new leases come with free oil changes and tire protection. A closer inspection of the lease contract showed it was a $1000 add on he had ever so politely snuck in there. Another lie that was told was that I had an option of walking away with a $2000 check THAT DAY for my equity trade in or I could put that money toward my lease. I decided to take the check. After signing the papers I asked him... well where's my check? He replies oh that should take two weeks. I was given no written documentation that this money was owed to me and I had to go through several hoops and few brush offs (that took days) to finally get everything sorted out. BUYER BEWARE. I walked in there as a single female hoping for some honest business but unfortunately the stigma is true. You can't trust car salesmen. I walked away feeling disgusted and taken advantage of. It is all sorted out now but it should've never happened in the first place. Have some decency and respect towards people/customers especially during these tough times. I have leased two previous cars from howdy Honda but unfortunately after this one I will most likely go another route. They do give out free drinks in the waiting room but they're so generous with them because they're sneaking $1000 packages onto peoples leases. Good work guys. read more

Kevin put me on hold for a couple minutes to check inventory, then Kevin said come on in, we'll have it ready for you. Do NOT buy a 10th gen Civic!! There are known issues with the ENTIRE AC system yet American Honda only extended the warranty on the condenser and not the compressor! So if the compressor goes out, you are out for a 2k repair bill. Bonus, even if you do get it repaired, prepare to pay this fee again 1-2 years down the line when it fails again :) Check out the 10th gen civic forum on this and you will see numerous posts on this. When I contacted American Honda for some/any financial assistance they told me tough luck you're out of warranty. My car is a 2017 and only has 35k miles on it, yet an item that is supposed to last for +100k miles item is already broken. Honda's reliability has plummeted in the recent past and I won't be purchasing another honda after this poor treatment. Does Honda actually expect us to be paying 2k every 1-2 years to get the AC fixed? I'm trading this piece of junk in for a toyota and never looking back. read more

I just purchased a brand new 2024 Accord Hybrid Sport from Howdy Honda on Monday and could not be any happier with my experience unless they wanted to give me the car for free. My situation: I am not really into cars, I hate negotiating with car dealers, and I had a difficult trade-in situation since my old car had an undiagnosed problem with the transmission. I was honestly worried that I just wasn't going to be able to make a deal this week due to my trade-in issue. Let's just say that the Howdy Honda team put my worries to rest ASAP. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Annyce at the front desk who promptly referred me to Ted who would immediately prove to be the coolest car salesman I had ever encountered. And get this... the sales manager, Marshall, was working his butt off right up front across from Annyce. That's right... Marshall was actually right there on the front lines with his team instead of hiding in the back and only coming out to intimidate and tell us "no" in so many words like so many sales managers at other dealerships. And as busy as Marshall was, he always had time to politely and efficiently help out when needed. Most importantly, they assured me that the transmission issue on my trade-in was going to be a non-issue for them since it was still under warranty and they would have no trouble fixing it after the trade-in. Ted, Marshall, and I quickly discussed which trims were available in my preferred color and Ted had my first choice pulled up for a test drive so fast that it didn't even seem possible. I loved the car, and I let Ted know that I have a certain style of negotiation that I like that involves getting the deal done in minutes without all of the drama and stalling. Ted and Marshall were happy to cater to my unique personality and negotiation style. They presented a first offer sheet, and Ted quickly and efficiently explained what I was looking at in a friendly, honest, and straightforward manner. Less than 10 minutes later, Ted and Marshall had a deal for me that I was super happy with. I was so stunned by their speed and friendliness that it took me a minute or 2 to sign it lol. I straight up told Ted that I would have kept pressing for more with the typical car salesman, but that he had earned so many "cool points" that I was happy to make an exception. Sold, baby! And yes, they backed up their talk about my trade-in by giving me a price consistent with a perfectly healthy car. Before I knew it, I was in the business office with Anne who was also super friendly, straightforward, and helpful. A bunch of signatures, and I come out and can't find Ted. I ask Marshall where Ted went, and just as Marshall is calling Ted, we see Ted pulling around in my new car that he and his team had just finished washing. Ted showed me how all of the features and buttons work, synced my phone with the car, and encouraged me to call him any time if I had any questions about using my new car. Oh, and props to Diana for dropping by a couple times to help out when Ted was busy running around getting things done for me. I thought it was really cool that another sales associate who was making zero money off of my deal was so happy to help out. Total time from parking my old car out front to Ted handing me the keys to my new car? I wasn't keeping track, but it was approximately one hour. One hour is about how much time a typical car dealership takes explaining to me over and over that my first counter offer is terrible. Ya, of course my first counter offer is going to be terrible... I am an amateur and car dealers are pros. Ted and Marshall understood this concept, and they never tried to embarrass me for not being on their level. Ted called me a couple days later to thank me and make sure I liked my new car, and I told him that I drove it 100+ miles on the first day just for fun because I loved it so much. He laughed and reminded me to call him up any time if I have questions. Finally, I want to give Howdy Honda mad props for keeping the older members of their staff on board in an era when so many businesses let them go or force them to retire. Watching my dad get forced into retirement at age 60 when he was still on top of his game and wanted to keep working was brutal for me, and I firmly believe that ageism is evil. Some older employees look forward to retirement, but many love working and don't want to stop any time soon. Loyalty to the older members of a company's staff shouldn't impress me, but unfortunately it does nowadays. And for the record, I am only 44. I have entered negotiations for a car with Howdy Honda 3 times in 2008 (for my wife), 2011 (my favorite car of all time that I drove for 12 years), and now again in 2023. First offer to handshake and signature took 10 minutes tops every time. Keep up the great work guys and gals! read more

I was very disappointed in selling my car there. While they may be good for selling cars, when they purchased my vehicle the price was fair. However it was over 2 weeks before I received payment. Several phone calls went unanswered (we'll call you right back. NOT). The salesman also accidentally kept my license--that's okay, mistakes happen. I told them to mail it with the check thinking it would be a day or 2. Over 2 weeks later, finally got the check. Now 3 weeks later, still no license. Too difficult of a task to get a check and a license into an envelope. If they service or sell cars like they buy them, I would consider somewhere else. read more

My car has been with the dealership for 6 months between two shops because Howdy Honda can not handle fixing my car. Myron Jones & Marcus the service manager never answered any of my questions and never sent me the paper work as asked. I spoke with the GM Curtis Salter and he passed me to Marcus the service manager which wasn't any help. Months of un answered texts and phone calls and still nothing. We have a 2018 pilot (Touring) that's been having issues with the collision mitigation system, which BTW [the issue] is a design flaw with the vehicle. Even though we were under the Honda extended warranty we were charged $179 to basically clear the error code from the computer (again). Pretty good scam for Honda - cause or leave a problem in the car and then charge outrageous amounts of money to reset the system (that only a dealership can do). The car was also due for an oil change, which they wanted to perform. I asked how much and was told about $65 and I agreed to that. When we picked up the car we had been charged $66 for labor, $27 for oil and $28 for the oil filter. Unscrupulous? You decide. I'm done with Honda. The cars aren't built as well as they used to be and their dealerships are clearly more interested in taking advantage of their customers than building trusted relationships. read more

I've been a Howdy service customer for several years and have found their service writers friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to please. Anytime there was an issue, they stepped up and provided great customer service to take care of it. Now in the Time of Covid, I find most everyone there is doing their best, as well, which is why I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt here, factored in with all of my other visits. I brought my Honda in to Express Service with a dead battery, and decided to wait around outside for them to replace it. While I would definitely call ahead for an appointment for any other service, when I did, they told me I wouldn't need one to visit Express Service. FYI, consider the term "Express" loosely, as we have yet to determine its true meaning. Express didn't seem awfully busy, as they would have been in normal times, and the trio of Express service writers were on top of their game, greeting customers and processing cars promptly, both in the Express and the regular service drives. They seemed to be doing double duty, and these young guys are great. The two technicians in the Express bays that day, however, were set to slo-mo, and the service drivers must have been pulled from somewhere else, because it took them awhile to run over and move the cars off the drive to the bays. Maybe they're short-staffed these days? Then my car sat there at the service bay waiting patiently for about an hour. So it took a full two hours to get my dead battery checked and replaced, while I stood out there watching these two Express technicians move like government employees on an hourly wage, working casually on the same two cars with their masks pulled down like chinstraps. The bays were wide open and they were mostly working under the hood and/or under the lift, but the real cringer was when I saw one of them slowly cleaning the inside of a car like that. If that bothers you at all (and IMO it might, especially since the dealership has a mask-on policy), please bring along some Lysol and a disinfectant wipe and drive home with your windows down, like I did. Trust no one in these Times of Covid. I grew up hanging out with a gang of grease monkeys in garages, and consequently am a bit of a stickler for details. So I can also add here that after watching that concerning display, I was super annoyed when I popped the hood to see that when they replaced the battery, they just left the red plastic protective terminal cap sticking straight up and didn't bother to install felt terminal pads first or to spray the battery terminals with red corrosion preventative spray. Luckily, I have some spray at home and did that bit myself. But how lazy. Even this interesting day at Honda is so far ahead of my Chevy service experiences that I hate to sound this picky, but I've had such great service from Howdy Honda in the past that I don't want to see them slip into quality control oblivion. This place are filled with crooks. On Oct 3rd my 2018 accord overheated during my vacation in austin. We were able to make it to the nearest honda dealer (howdy honda). My service advisor Bhavik Patel quoted me 6500 for my repairs and stated that my vehicle head gasket was leaking. Luckily for me my best friend was with me and he worked in car services for 15+years. He was suspicious on how expensive it was regarding the repairs so we asked for the breakdown. Further inspections shows that the service advisor Bhavik recommended me to replace the cylinder head($1600 parts) along with the head gasket. With questioning Bhavik said it is Honda's procedure that we do that. We've then contacted nearby honda dealerships to ask and they all said that when there are visual warping/cracking then you recommend replacing other wise you would send it to the machine shop for inspections before recommending any replacing. I felt like I was being taken advantage off and cheated for being a loyal customer to honda. So I went there to speak to their service manager at the time Donald Sparks he confirmed that we have to send it off to a machine shop before recommending it. With the bill being 6500 and the extended Warranty they provide was useless I've reach out to honda corporate for assistance. They sympathize with me and say they will help assist with a goodwill if I am qualified as a loyalty customer. I service this vehicle 47 times with Honda dealerships and my whole family has Hondas with 5 owned btw us. Honda corporate asked them to send the cylinder head to machine shop to get it inspected and provide with a new quotes. 3 weeks went by I have not heard an updates or anything. I contacted howdy honda multiple times and no one reply. Finally Donald sparks replied and told me that they are waiting on my parts to come in to send my cylinder head for inspections. I informed them that I only needed them to take it apart and send it off for inspections. Donald sparks says that it is once again "honda procedure" that we will only take things apart if we have the parts to replace it. And stated that honda recommended the cylinder head replacing for all head gasket.This was opposite of his previous statement. So I authorized the tear down. 10 days later with no responses I called them again and this time I was informed that Donald Sparks no longer works there anymore and a new manager would reach out to me. Later that day Marcus Rodriguez called and says that my vehicle is done and are being run through test drive. I did not authorized any fixing/put together of any kind. All I wanted was a quotes for corporate. Marcus sends me the new quotes of (3500) and I send it up to corporate. With further consideration corporate says they won't be able to help with the goodwill. So I contacted Marcus Rodriguez to see what he can do for me. He said two options are you can pay it all at once or get on their payment plans. I asked if there're any discounts since you guys misdiagnosed my car and try to charge me double for my repairs initially. He did not realized this was going on so he told me he was going to look into it. At this point my car was in that shop for a month and a half and I can't kept using rentals and borrowing cars. 2 days went by and no calls or replies again from Marcus I've made a decision to drive 4 hrs to austin and pick up my car. Upon rcving my car all of my seats setting for my car was changed and the car just doesn't feel like the same anymore. Attached are the bills before and after. I would never recommend this place... extremely poor website, customer service, communication, and prices were all horrible. The cost of the services of course ended up way higher than expected, and one of the biggest insults was the lack of communication of costs before services were actually performed. I only got a quote after work was started. Besides that the 'coupons' on the website are nothing more than a grab to get your information. It was extremely difficult to get in touch with the right people about my car being serviced after drop off, and the car that I was given to use while my car was in the shop ended up not working at all and not even starting. The car had so many errors on the dashboard and I wasn't able to drive it for even one second, so it was a waste of money as well as extremely disappointing when I had to miss plans because you wouldn't expect a loaner car to be completely out of service. This place is extremely shady and/or poorly run. I'd rather never ever get my car serviced again and risk dying in a horrible car collision than ever use this place again. read more

Took my car in as it would not start (towed). I told them I suspected the starter and could they check everything. They Said it was battery and replaced it even though my battery was two years old (and a high end one). Two days later would not start. Towed again and even though it had just been in for the same reason they would not even deal with it for another three days. Got the call from Howdy- it's the starter. I accused them of replacing a perfectly good battery the first time. Told them to go ahead and replace starter. They Quoted me 700. Told me it would be ready next morning first thing. When I called to confirm it was ready they said it had not even been started the day before like I was told. Would not be ready until late afternoon. When I arrived to get it was 200 dollars higher than quoted. When I asked why no one had a good answer. I refused to pay 200 more than quoted. They let me have it for what I was told the two days before. When I got the paperwork with the notes it stated I had brought my car in the first time back in March (vs the week before) because of a bad battery. Well I really went off on them and asked what was the scam here. Was this done so it did not look like they misdiagnosed the problem? No good answer. Just a lot of sorry sir. Never going back. And I was a lifer here. 2011 odyssey van that I took there without fail for every scheduled maintenance. So long Howdy Honda. Update: I now use Autotek. They do fabulous work on Honda's. They do thorough inspections and will tell you what's critical, what needs attention but can wait, etc. Hands down one of the best mechanic shops I have ever used. For Hondas they will only use OEM parts as they have seen too many issues with aftermarket parts on Hondas. As someone who does shade tree mechanic work on my Hondas they are right. I have been burned so many times with cheaper after market Honda parts. read more

The head manager MATT COLE is a fraud and a liar. After initially offering me $12,000 for my 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid, which I obviously declined as the fair market value is well over $20K, he texts me asking if I'd accept $17,500 plus another $1000 towards a new lease or purchase. I had received other competitive offers but accepted Matt's offer as I wanted to establish a local relationship with a Honda dealer. My mistake! When I called back to schedule the paperwork meeting, I was ignored...after days I finally reached a lowly salesperson who must have asked Mr. Cole to contact me. He did and to my disappointment said he could now only offer $16k...from $12k to $17.5k to $16k...all within a week after I declined other offers from honest buyers!!!! Do not take your car here for service, do not buy a used or new car from these snake oil salespeople: this dealerships sales team is setup to steal your $ by adding fake "add-ons" like ceramic coatings, nitrogen tires, lo-jack, etc to vehicles and then hiding a substantial "market adjustment" in their sales contracts. I am not joking about this. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this horrible stealership. I was quoted $42k for a new accord, of which the msrp is $34k. Then the sales person lied to me and told me it's only $4k over msrp, then the salesperson later claimed he didn't know what the msrp was for this vehicle...? Please explain why a car salesperson would not know the MSRP for a vehicle after trying to overcharge me by $8k...more importantly, please explain why anyone in their right mind would do business with these crooks. read more

A few weeks after my recommended oil change and tire rotation, my 1 year old car started to make a strange humming sound. Called Howdy Honda but the answer I got was "This is because of the tire rotation". This continued for several months and eventually I went back. The diagnose of the problem was the tires (20.000 miles) and because I didn't align the car enough, the tires needed replacement. This was according to them the cause of the issue. After a long discussion I decided to replace all 4 tires. Guess what, it didnt fixed the issue. Went to a different Honda without telling them the issue. They immediately diagnosed the car with a faulty wheel bearing. Replaced under warranty and the noise was gone. No matter how far I need to drive, I will never go to Howdy Honda again. I spend a signification amount of money on new tires that didn't needed to be replaced. read more

My wife made the mistake of making an appointment for an oil change with these idiots. 3 hours later and the job still isn't done. When questioned they said the appointment is just for when you drop off the car not for when the work is done. So essentially appointments don't actually have any meaning towards getting the job done. Go on you tube and teach your self or take it to any other oil change location and save your self 3+ hours of waiting around. read more

Our Honda Element was totalled and we were in the market to buy a new CRV. It's been flying get off the lots, so finding good the color and trim we wanted was difficult. We visited a few dealers and had serious car-buying fatigue, resigned to waiting weeks for a potential find. Then came a call from Dina at Howdy Honda. We told her of our predicament and she immediately went into solution mode. She touted Howdy Honda's customer service experience and offered to give us a loaner until she found the car we wanted. Wow. This was 6 pm and we were headed to dinner. She said she would wait for us. We turned around and met with her. Unlike the other dealers, she thoroughly walked through the myriad of new features in the 2017 CRV. We were sold. She had a great car in stock! Best of all, she BEAT the best price offered. I tried to get them to look at a squeaky belt a while back and they told me I needed a new timing belt. uh, no, I didn't. I already changed it, thanks and it is fine. I just want you to adjust a squeaky belt. Then they said they wanted to change all the belts. Uh, well, then, I wanted to see the old belts. Uh, ok, lady, I guess you don't need new belts, just an adjustment. They are very convenient to my work, so I did the occasional oil change here, but I no longer trust them to do anything. I do still like their parts counter, though. Very nice people there. read more

Our Honday Pilot started stalling out when trying to Auto-Idle. It was still under warranty (barely) so we brought it in to the dealership to troubleshoot. This issue was very easy for us to reproduce, but they claimed they tried and tried and could never reproduce it. They basically just sent us home and we wasted our time. Fast forward a couple months and we went back to the dealership and just said to heck with it... we'll just pay $315 out of pocket for a new battery which they said would solve the auto-idle issue. We did some other maintenance and all in came out to over $1,000.00. We felt they were over-charging us like crazy, but just wanted everything be done and be done right, so bit the bullet... Well after 2 weeks, the battery completely died. Like it is dead and useless (see battery test done by AAA technician). So we called the dealership to report this issue and wanted a rental car for the inconvenience this has caused and explained everything to the manager. Not only will they not supply a rental car, but they are completely out of stock for this battery and are unable to give an ETA for when it will be re-stocked. So we're stuck with a car we just paid over $1k to service, and we can't even drive it? We were a Honda family, but this is an unacceptable level of customer service by all measures. I bought a 2015 accord from a dealer in McAllen. Less than 30 days latter the starter gave out so I had the car towed to Howdy Honda here in Austin since I knew I wouldn't have to pay under lemon law. They charge $1,000 to replace a starter that cost $75 new according to McAllen dealer. Howdy Honda is using a used starter. Howdy then calls me to pick up my car (knowing the bill was to be paid by McAllen dealer. I show up and the expect me to pay, so 26 mile trip for nothing. They give stupid excuses, can't figure out how to be professional. Will never do business with these price gouging not wits. read more

There's a lot I need to unwind about. Take it from someone whose been here back in 2018. I had service done here and at least I can say inspection and maybe an oil change is the only thing I feel safe with when coming here. If only if I could extend the feeling. Last year was a disaster and I figured it was my fault in the first place but when I think back I kept thinking... some how some way, I kept needing to come back to Honda. For what ever reason if not the same one. I got one problem fixed, and another suddenly appeared! I get it fixed again, and the problem before came back! I got it all fixed, and then suddenly out in the middle of the highway my car overheats and SHUTS DOWN! Weird, my car should be fine since I passed and paid for an INSPECTION. 4 times. In one month. What do you want from me. Because honestly since the last time I went, which was 3 days ago from today, I was already broke. I have to go back again for TPMS which is an easy fix, just calibrate it through the cars system. But it doesn't work... It just keeps coming back no matter how many times I calibrate. I can't trust them. I DO NOT TRUST howdy honda. And I'm am absolutely DONE. For those of you who are looking for a legitimate review from someone who has been going there and has a few years of experience with them here it is: If you can get a hold of someone as long as it's before 4 to 5 pm, you have a better chances. The people are actually very kind and nice. The practice of making sure your car is functioning and working is decent after a couple of days or the moment you hit a good amount of miles , I'd say around 40 miles. And then something goes wrong! The practice is nothing but people with experience would tell you, "that's how they do business" it's a scheme. It's a serious accusation I'm putting on them but nobody can do anything about it! They purposely sabotage your car in order for you to come back and get it all done and till they get that amount they want or need and they'll leave you dry, it really doesn't matter if you have a warranty. read more

My coworker was talking about purchasing his car from Howdy Honda and I strongly advised him not to based on my own previous experience with this dealer. I walked in with a desire to buy a new Honda Accord. And after dealing with the salesman, they reduced the price only about $1,000. I felt this was very unreasonable and knew I could go to another dealer and find a better deal. The salesman tried a lot of stall tactics but after spending more than 3 hours at the dealer, the price was reduced only to $2,000. As I left, I was continually told that I would never find a deal for the price range I wanted. Well I went to another dealer and guess what....I found the Accord for the exact price I wanted. I didn't even buy from here- I mistakenly left my phone number on the website so I could view their online inventory. They called SO much that i blocked them and today I happened to look at my blocked voicemails and since I've blocked them, i have TWENTY THREE (23) voicemails!!! And it was much more than that before I blocked... but pro tip: that makes me never want to do business with you, that's absolutely way too much and more than annoying. read more

Sometimes they are close to price. But they were over 1K over other estimates for a starter. Wanted $1500. Ridiculous. Didn't check engine codes either as they wanted another $200 for that. BEWARE OF THEIR MAINTENCE AND REPAIR SHOP After $800. for usual maintenence + price to fix radio panel. From the beginning the panel hasn't worked right....1st time said nothing wrong...2nd time it wasn't working bad enuf to leave there. ( The van is a mobility van) Also said Hond acknoldged there is a problem.......Last time they said again it was fixed.....now it won't come on at all. The soft ware download didn t fix it........ Howdy Honda said if they get a technetion to come out it would cost me more... .What lousy service they give.... Upon maintenance and again 'fixing' the panel the left back doorr wouldn't close...of course it wasn't their fault, speaking with them the mechanic didn't know how to fix it...They jerked the car and the the magnets would match up....again another problem with Honda. I recently bought a used vehicle from here and I did all my necessary research and even pre-financed myself. I knew which used car I wanted and went there expecting a quick an hassle free transaction. I was wrong. These guys are just like all the other dealers you'll ever encounter. They will try to get more out of you even though you are already there to spend thousands. I was made to wait a ridiculously long time to verify my pre approved finance offer and I wasn't even haggling them on the darn car's price! The finance guy was a "smooth talker" that tried to add crap I didn't want. I was willing to add an oil change package because I like getting my oil changes there, but this dude wanted the stupid extra warranty and got pretty contrite when I told him my PTSD was kicking in and I was ready to leave if I couldn't get the darn car alone and nothing else. He even tried his best to show me how easy it was to cancel even though he clearly lies about answering his emails. I did initially agree to the stupid Kahu tracking service that I now am trying to get a refund on. I'm sure Parker will ignore my emails as he did my emails providing him the info he needed to submit for my disabled veteran plates. I went to go pick up my plates yesterday and they were not disabled plates. They acted all surprised, but I know he didn't even bother doing what he said he was supposed to. I asked him twice for confirmation by email and phone and even called my sales guy that is down the damn hallway from him, but he said I needed to call the main line to get transferred. Wow. Thanks Thomas. I now have to wait 2 more weeks or so for my DV plates, and I don't trust them that they are correcting the issue in a timely manner. I really wanted to purchase my car so I purposely let him add the stupid Kahu tracking, the nitrogen tire protection plan and even the damn administrative fee that they don't deserve and that I have never paid before. I even told him that I was letting him leave it because I just wanted to finish everything and he could keep it as a prize for not getting more out of me. He smirked under his mask. I will continue to enjoy my services for the oil changes since I have bought a pretty expensive package for that, but I'm pretty disappointed with the used car department. This 3 star review is pending the $300 refund and removal of the Kahu device though. It's terrible at tracking my car and collects way too much data and technically leaves you open to hackers considering it has the power to disable your vehicle! No thanks! Long story short. Service department tried to rip off my daughter when she took her car in for a check engine light diagnosis. Told her she needed a $2500 Engine Control Module repair on a 20 year old Accord. We told them no to the "repair." When my daughter brought the car to me, I realized the wires on the connector to the coolant temperature sensor were loose. A new connector cost $32 & fixed the problem. Instead of trying to find the source of the error, they proposed an expensive repair that wouldn't have fixed the problem. My wife usually gets her oil change here and every time they convince her something should be replaced or updated that and I came this time and not only does the appointment not matter but they would of taken another thousand for things that aren't in dire need. Terribly unpleasant hard sell on extended warranties. Beware if buying a new vehicle from Howdy Honda. You may think you have made a deal,after putting down a deposit and waiting for the vehicle to come in, but they will use several hard sell techniques to upsell you multiple extended warranties. I said no twice to the finance guy, before they brought in Chris Pham. He didn't explain his role, but proceeded to continue with the hard sell. I declined 5 more times. He wouldn't accept no and I finally asked him to stop and go away. He refused, berated me and said I owed him an apology for being rude. To push that hard seems desperate. It must be difficult to do business with inventory shortages, but this isn't the way. This would have been my sixth Honda purchase(four new and two used), but I am going to look elsewhere. I live much closer to another Honda dealership in town, but I drive down to Howdy Honda because they treat their customers well. The folks here are so nice, and the service department does a good job. But I have one huge complaint. I have yet to get out of here in less than 3 hours for a basic oil change and tire rotation. This is not a one time thing; it has been like this for years. I don't understand why they allow you to make an appointment if you are STILL going to be waiting 3+ hours for your car. Buying a car has to be one of the top 10 most stressful experiences, but our salesman Daniel Beasley made it fun and easy! I wasn't sure what kind of car I wanted, and Daniel patiently let me test drive a few different cars to help me narrow it down explaining all the different features of the different models. He didn't pressure nor harass me at all the way the other dealerships did, and even let me take home the car for the weekend before my purchase to ensure I was making the right decision. During the test drive, I almost missed a stop and slammed the brakes. Daniel laughed good-naturedly, and said "Hey, you gotta test the brakes!" ^^ I told him I wanted to make sure I was taken care of after the sale, and he made me feel reassured by introducing me to the mechanics and walking me through the dealership. Everyone was really kind and welcoming, and the dealership is brand new and is stock full of snacks and drinks. Daniel helped me score a great deal, and it was such a pleasure doing business with him! He always greeted us genuinely and really worked hard for us to make sure we were happy and got the car we wanted.---"Hey, friend!" "I'm here for you." "Let me see what I can do." I went to 4 other dealerships, and no place matched the facilities and people of Howdy Honda. I wholeheartedly recommend carbuying with Daniel @Howdy Honda to all my friends! :) Edit: If you buy a car from here, do not buy into the "insurance plan" that the fast-talking finance guy Hutch sells. He'll spend 2 hours talking to you about why it's worth it, but the warranty on the new car will be sufficient. This is what car dealerships make money off of. Hutch made it seem like the refund within 30 days of cancellation would be easy, but he neglected to send the cancellation documents in a timely manner, and made it more of a hassle to cancel than it was to sign up. DO NOT BUY THE EXTRA $2500 INSURANCE. Waste of time and money, and once the dealership gets your $$$ they make it extra difficult for you to get your money back.
