I've watched enough content creators to know what to get -- and most importantly "how" to get. NOTE: Prices will be higher as this is Vegas after all. For my meal I ordered several items: the Sando which came in at a whopping $17. I accompanied it with an order of shake fries ($6), a solo wing ($5), comeback sauce ($1) and a surprisingly lovely peach tea ($6). The total with tax came to about $37 and some change. (Oh, Vegas...) Spice level: Everything in medium. I have to say -- I enjoyed the entire meal. Of all the things I ordered, the sando was the clear winner. I was surprised how much I enjoyed all the flavors working together -- coleslaw, pickles, comeback sauce and the medium spice. The filet was about the size of a Popeyes chicken sandwich filet, nothing crazy. The wing was a bit disappointing. It had the same spice, but was cool to the touch. For a hot chicken spot, I was expecting the hot chicken to outshine the sandwich-- that was NOT the case. For this, I deduct one star. The line isn't as bad as it is in LA. It goes by pretty quickly. I think for as much as they charge in general, the sauces should be free unless people are asking for hella sauces. The chicken is juicy I'll give them that. The seasoning is good if you're a seasoning wing type of person versus a sticky sauce type. That's where the divide is. Would I get it again, probably not but I'm glad I tried it. This is located in the Venetian food hall and they're open until midnight - I think. The meat is really moist and juicy and the thin coating, both mild and medium, were terrific. The fries were nice and crunchy on the outside and tender in the inside. The counter staff were friendly and helpful as I explained that it was our first time. The sauce doesn't do much for me, but it does have flavor. I've been to chicken places where the sauce is largely mayonnaise. This is better than that. I prefer Raisin' Canes sauce. It's in a food court near the casino. The branding is really endearing and I love that their french fry bag says "Have a hot day". I will say the french fries were definitely some of the crispiest and best seasoned fries I've ever had. The chicken tenders were spicy despite having chosen mild and very crispy on the outside, but moist on the inside. Honestly, there isn't much competition on my end especially coming from Canada where true Southern flavours don't have much presence. This place sits in a the food court corner on the casino floor. I ordered a Sando and an order of their fries. The wait felt a bit long for a chicken sandwich, felt around ~20 minutes. But the wait was completely worth it. This has to be the absolute best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life, it puts all the others I've had to shame. Very generous size of fried chicken, cooked to perfection and drizzled with their sauce, covered in coleslaw and pickles. Every bite was amazing. The wrapper around the burger was also tightly wrapped, so whenever I took a bite the contents would never spill out the other side. Their fries on the other hand are very spice heavy, definitely needs to be dipped in their signature sauce to make it more bearable, but they are quite good and crispy. read more

We've also ordered between us the tenders, wings, as well as the sando. All of it is good, bang for buck would probably be the tenders for sheer amount. I liked the wings since they were nice and crispy, and the seasoning was on point. We always get fries too. They also come out piping hot with a generous amount of seasoning. We also got the banana pudding this time around at the end. Not too sweet which was great. The vanilla wafers an interesting touch to break up into bites and add some texture. We'll definitely be back as time and place lines up. Easy late night to plan around. I remember way back when I used to eat at Howlin' Ray's in Chinatown in Downtown Los Angeles. There was always a line wrapped around the plaza. It was like a line at Disneyland. It was absolutely well-worth the wait though. I happened to be staying at The Venetian and after I checked in and headed to my room, I looked at their food court and saw Howlin' Ray's in big letters. It caught my attention right away. I was so thrilled and knew I had to add it to my list of places to eat while I was in Vegas. We went right after we checked out of our hotel. Let me tell you... it was just as good and juicy as I remembered. Their sandwich is a standout for a reason. It's full of flavor, so moist, and had just a brush of heat. I've been to the OG one (LA Chinatown). Quality is comparable, without the long waits. Pros: line was 5 min long, food took another 5 minutes. Located inside Venetian in the food courts. Cons: 15-40% upcharge compared to the equivalent menu at this exact moment in LA Chinatown. With food quality comparable to LA, you are paying a bit of premium for convenience and time savings. A bit hard to find (which is partly why the lines are shorter) We got the sando and a tender, with a side of comeback sauce. Already $23, which is about 1.5x what I remembered paying (inflation adjusted for), and the portions are smaller, but I don't need to wait 2 hrs physically in line. I value my time more than saving $10 for 2 hrs line, so it evens out. I love how juicy the chicken is, and also the flavor - I have been to a bunch of hot chicken places in Nashville, and Howlin' Rays does it better still. read more

Its been a while since I've been to the HR in LA Chinatown. I hardly go to DTLA any longer, so the Chinatown location is too far. I stayed at the Palazzo on a recent trip to Vegas, and made sure I hit the HR in Via Via Food Hall. The 3 wing meal did not disappoint. The chicken was plump, and expertly seasoned with the dusting and sauce. The pickles & white bread contrasted nicely with the savory & spicy chicken. The food hall has plenty of room to spread out and share a meal. The food takes a while so be patient. I am glad the Vegas location is as good as the LA location. Located inside the casino, it wasn't a location I was expecting. However, the food makes up for it. We got the wings and banana pudding and it was all great. Almost no line when I went around 2 PM! The employees were sweet and friendly. I did not like the consistent cigarette smell (from the casino) but I know that's outside of Howlins hands. I would skip on the banana pudding because it tasted a bit too... artificial. The unsweetened peach ice tea was the perfect palate cleanser so you could appreciate each new bite afresh! Inside a food court. This place definitely had the longest line lol. The chicken tenders are really good though so I can see why! I got the mild lol. My hubby got the hottest one and they warned us at every step that it was very hot. Im a huge fan of Howlin Rays and I used to wait multiple hours in line for the one in Los Angeles. After seeing they had a Howlin Rays in Las Vegas I had to try it. I was initially worried that the flavor was not going to be maintained at the new store but there was honestly nothing to worry about. This location was as good as the one in LA and I was so satisfied at the end of my meal. I ordered a sando, a tender and a wing all medium spice and they were all made to perfection. The chicken is as tender as I remember it was from my last visit at Howlin Rays. The flavors and attention to detail on their spices and preparation for their chicken is miles better than their closest competitor. The fries are cooked perfectly and seasoned with their hot chicken spices and is something you should not pass on. They also have canned sweet tea and non sweet tea. I got non sweetened one which was great with the food. The service and staff are all friendly and the restaurant itself has the classic Howlin Rays iconic feel. The restaurant is located in a small food court in the Venetian near the casino by the North Suites. Plenty of seating. If anyone is in Vegas I would 100% try these guys out. read more
