The moment I saw it - I told my fiance we had to go. The place was a little tricky to find honestly. But we just checked the directory in the casino and found our way. I don't know how long this has been open for but I was so happy to see the wait NOT be as long as LA locations! We probably waited like max 20 minutes?? Granted it was like 9pm but still. Food quality tasted the same as LA locations which was amazing. We got a medium sando to share and tasted fresh & delicious. Definitely hit the spot and we were really happy to have gotten to eat Howlin in Vegas. Chicken was tender and juicy for a breast! If you love Howlin or are in Vegas and want the opportunity to try - highly recommend. Medium gives a good little kick that's not too bad. We were excited to try the chicken here and luckily had almost no line. We got the chicken sandwich mild with fries and an order of the tenders medium spice. The portions are enormous. I would say if youre spice adverse, stick with the mild or country (which is the lowest spice level). Medium was actually kind of spicy and salty and I ended up rubbing a lot of the seasoning off. Suffice it to say, we worked up a sweat. I can't imagine safely and happily eating the spicy or howlin' level. The slaw and pickles are a nice way to cut the spice. Great flavor and tender chicken! We got the mild tenders and medium wings. Medium was spicy (I can take spicy but it was like the spicy that lingers lol). Normally the lines are long at the California locations but I was excited that I didn't have to wait long for this one! The menu is simple which makes it so much easier to order. When you get hot at other places here is more likely way hotter, it's a creeper for sure. We were super stoked to find out that they just opened up a location here inside the Venetian food court! I've been to the LA location where the lines are always long. There wasn't a line here! They make some fried chicken, but do it extremely well. They have six level of spices to choose from, and I would say medium is perfect. We did try hot, and it was manageable. Amazing to see Howlin Rays in vegas. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had and have had it in LA many times and thankfully it tastes the same to me. They opened up in the new and improved venetian food court on the ground floor not far from the lobby. The fried chicken sandwich is my go to but if I want to skip the bread the tenders or the quarter bird are great options. Respect the spice levels here, as even the medium is quite hot and I can handle my spice. Mild has a little bit of heat enough to give you a taste, medium feels like hot at other places but is manageable, and I find the hot a little too hot for me although I will have it once in a while. They go higher than that if you are big into spice but medium and hot are plenty for me. The staff are always friendly and food usually comes out quick once your order is in. The chicken in the sando was overly salty, even with slaw & pickles didn't help. The hot spice level was perfect. It wasn't bad just wasn't the best I've had. Onto the wings, now I don't know if the oil was burnt?! I didn't taste it in the sando but the wings!!?? They were so bitter it tasted burnt, the skin was so soggy & chicken was bland. Left a bad after taste afterwards. Now the best thing we ordered from the three were most definitely the shake fries. Perfectly fried, golden brown & delicious. Husband and I tried Howlin' Rays during a recent trip to Las Vegas. It is located in the food court of The Venetian. We are a big fan of the LA location and wanted to make sure we tried this location. I love that there was a very short line, unlike the LA location. The staff was friendly. We each got a a mild chicken sando and an order of fries. I would say that it was comparable to the LA location but less spicy? My only complaint is the cost of the drinks but I'm sure this is a Vegas problem. There's no way that a can of soda is $6. Definitely worth a try though if you like spicy chicken sandwiches and can't try the original location. read more

The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because I've enjoyed the LA original so many times that I can taste some differences that made me almost disappointed. The spice blend tasted a little different so wasn't quite what I expected. The bun seemed more buttery and softer, which made it feel like it was falling apart a little quicker. But the citrus slaw was spot on, the chicken was big and juicy, and the shake on the fries was the right amount of flavor kick. The service was friendly and really fast! They quoted us 15 minutes to wait and our food was ready in maybe 3. The chicken is insanely good. Really big chicken tenders, hand breaded. The fries were seasoned and so yummy. Even the ranch was clearly made in shop and delicious. My one warning is that we got mild and both found it to be spicy. This HR is inside the food court on the casino floor, we didnt know that so it took a while for us to find it. Many other food options that looks very good as well. Price probs $1ish higher than LA. Portion are big ( especially the fries), very filling. We got a sando n 3 wings on medium and mild. Very juicy w a bit of kicks. Delicious flavor per usual, employees are fun and nice. Sauces and fries n drinks are charged seperate, no combo type thing. We got comeback and ranch sauces cuz theyre the best! 75c each. No tap water tho cuz they want you to "buy" their expensive bottles there so you might wanna carry ur own or just go ask for one in the casino bars if u dont wanna spend $8 for a big bottle cuz u def WILL drink water like crazy eating them spicy HOT chicken. So we went there at the Venetian, it's near the Grand Lux Cafe so you know you don't have to run around looking for it it's to the left of the Grand Lux Cafe if you're coming down the escalators, there was no line which was nice. I must say the chicken tenders were outstanding, I get the mild there's enough heat but it's tasty, my son got the medium but for me there's too much seasoning on it and a little too hot I want to enjoy my chicken but the tenders were super moist and crispy the french fries were outstanding they were crinkle cut fries and seasoned wonderfully I tried the Sando because I had had it in LA years ago and it was fantastic, but the sandwich fell short I hate to say but maybe just an off night. Just opened in the new food hall at the Venetian. There chicken tenders are HUGE, we got the mild good amount of spice to them maybe next time will go for the hot. Good lawd.... almighty. THIS is some phenomenal chicken. The sandwich is the absolute best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Top to bottom, everything was phenomenal. The gentleman taking orders was so helpful and patient. He helped us understand the heat levels and explained the sauces. We went in thinking we were going to get "Hot" but ended up ordering "Medium" after he gave us a spoon coated in the "Hot" seasoning. In retrospect, I think we could've gone with "Hot" as it plays out a bit different with the chicken, bun, and sauce. Just something to keep in mind when you're' tasting testing the seasonings. The seasonings are coated and SO SO SO SO GOOD. Although they're coated everything isn't too salty but there's a ton of flavor in every bite. We also got the wings with the pickles on top. The wings were perfectly coated and great. But the chicken sandwich was definitely the star of the show. I live in LA and have been wanting to go to Howlin Rays since I learned about it years ago. I just didn't want to wait in the always long line. Vegas is great because we literally just walked up and waited behind one person to order. The staff is so friendly and great (I've heard the LA staff is also wonderful). Do yourself a favor and GO TO HOWLIN RAYS. Finally! There is a Howlin' Ray's in Vegas and my first time trying immediately had me loving it. I got two chicken sandwiches. One Howlin and one medium. The medium packs a great combination of heat and flavor. The pickles and onions help mitigate some of the heat with their acidity but also provide a great crunch. They follow the standard layout for a chicken sandwich but the rub is what makes this sandwich fantastic! If you don't mind feeling like you inhaled gasoline, go with the Howlin. The food was incredible and tasted just as good as back home. But what was more incredible is the amazing, sweet staff that work this joint. HR always makes people feel like family. They happily shout, cheer, and celebrate all their patrons with enthusiastic cowbell ringing - first-timers and regulars alike. We met Chef Moniqa and Chef Matthew (who is actually the manager of the original Chinatown location) and they were so pleasant to talk to. While eating, I noticed that the restaurant founder/owner and king himself, Chef Johnny Ray, stopped by the restaurant during our visit. My boyfriend and I ended up meeting him officially and had an awesome talk with him as well. He even "knighted" us with plastic knives LOL. I've always admired how HR operates and executes, both in food quality and customer service. After speaking with Johnny, I could tell that a lot of HR's success is due to his leadership and the values that he emulates to the rest of his team. This place was amazing! We've been meaning to go for 7 years or so in LA, but never got around to it thinking about the wait/line. We came on a Saturday night and there was only one person ahead of us in line. With how amazing this spot is, it should've had sooo many more people in line on a busy weekend night. The guy that took our order was so friendly, polite and sweet. We got to try the hot and decided to order our wings and sandwich in medium. We would do the hot for the sandwich next time. The wings were juicy, crispy and flavorful. However, the sandwich was the star of the show! Everything on the sandwich was incredible, from the buttered bun to the crunchy coleslaw and pickles. If this place was not on the strip, I'd be eating it again tonight. The food court at the Venetian is super cute and clean. All the restaurants looked great, but the pizza and cheeseburger spot definitely caught our interest.
