    Amazing and delicious!

Love Hozys! We can't get enough of their amazing food dishes and drinks. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. Reasons why we keep going back and having a great time. Highly recommended!

Came by Sunday morning around 9:30. Packed inside. But there was one table open for us, yay! Fast friendly service. Ordered the chilaquiles and coffee. Chilaquiles had different flavoring than other places, a little spicy, but great! Large portions. Would get them again!

What can I say, this place is so stinking good. Hidden away in an industrial complex, when you walk in you are transformed to a lovely oasis. We had reservations for 2 of us at 5pm and when we arrived there was a line at the door of people waiting to get in. We ordered abalone (farm raised because it is illegal to catch them in the ocean). Oh boy was it good (and expensive) and worth it. It came with a perfect classic beurre blanc sauce (so good I wanted to lick the he plate but did not do that) and some sliced tomatoes. It was lightly breaded with seemed to be like a tempura batter. The veggie rice was really good, tender, creamy and so tasty. We had asparagus (good but typical and we heard afterward you can request them grilled) and lovely heirloom carrots cooked perfectly, tender but firm with a light butter sauce. The bread is yummy, not homemade but sure seems like it. We started with shrimp cocktails which came with 3 large shrimp. So give this place a try but leave a table for me or I can also eat at the bar.

I recently came here for dinner on a Thursday night with a fairly large group and we all had the best of time. I got the halibut and my husband got the Thai pork chop which were both tasty. But the winner of the show were all the desserts and wine/pina colada! Their sushi appetizer was so fresh, I couldn't believe it. It just literally melts in your mouth! The tart that took 20 mins came out in 15 mins and was a star meal. Also loved the French toast which is normally a breakfast item. The blended pina colada tasted so good but still got me tipsy haha Overall wonderful service in a small community

This is my third time to this restaurant and have always wanted to try their fried chicken. All the previous times, the food was amazing. Service was great, I sat at the bar and was greeted quickly by a friendly server. I ordered the white meat fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. I guess it was an off day for the fried chicken. The skin was bland and the meat was a little over cooked. I did make it work with the gravy on my mashed potatoes. So all in all it was great. Will try the chicken again on my next visit.

My boyfriend and I used to really enjoy coming here, but this last visit was incredibly disappointing. The service was poor, and our server, Julianna, came across as rude and unprofessional. When I asked a simple question about the menu, she went over to the hostess and appeared to mock me, which was completely inappropriate. I also asked for a side of regular butter with my waffles, but instead received something with a strange, almost melted-then-frozen texture that was not appetizing, especially since not everyone enjoys walnuts in their butter. To make matters worse, there were flies everywhere, making it hard to enjoy our meal. When it came time to pay, Julianna avoided our table and kept walking back and forth without checking in. My boyfriend eventually had to go up to the front to settle the bill, and even then, when he tried to politely wish her a good day, she cut her eyes at him and went back to her phone. Overall, the experience was frustrating, and unfortunately, this kind of service reflects poorly on the establishment. People like this have no business in the service industry.

Had an 8pm dinner reservation 10 minutes early Said they were fixing the table Decided to hang at the bar till table was ready Got seated at 8:25ish. Had to ask for a waitress after 10 more minutes No greeting just a " Are you ready to order". Don't know who waited on us all evening. There were a few Salad came out. The girl who brought it asked if we wanted an extra plate. It never came. Food came out about fifteen minutes later. They close at 9. Food was great. Surprisingly! A lot of staff running ariund without their heads! Nice little restaurant. The outside seating is bigger than inside Great menu Prices are ok $$$ Very close seating inside Service was terrible even though they were friendly enough. Nice bar If the food wasn't good I wouldn't recommend it but that was their saving grace! Go at your own risk! I may be back someday.

Had such a great experience here on Mother's Day! The restaurant was super busy with a huge waitlist, but the staff handled everything so well and stayed so kind and organized the entire time. The service was amazing, the food was great, and you could tell everyone was working hard to make sure guests still had a good experience despite how packed it was. Definitely appreciate how well they managed such a hectic day. Will for sure be coming back!

What a fantastic find! I'm still thinking about those fish and chips--perfectly cooked. The watermelon martini was the cherry on top of a great meal. The staff was welcoming and attentive on top of everything. I'll definitely be back!

I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit!

It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon.

Finding a restaurant that can handle our motley crew including a senior citizen with a walker and a very camera ready little dog has its challenges. Today, on our way back from central CA we stopped off at Cafe Nouveau for breakfast. I think we were their first customers of the day. They helped us navigate thru the back patio with the walker to a well situated spot. Jason, our server was attentive and knowledgeable providing recommendations on what to order, spice levels, and comparisons between breakfast options. You should find it too. All of the team will make you feel welcomed.

Curiosity got the best of me because it looked like a house so I decided to dig a little bit more into it. Apparently, it's a 1920s Spanish bungalow They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service is attentive and very friendly. Now the food... Oh man, it was delicious!! I was eating healthy and got just a plain chicken bowl and that was really nothing to write about, but that was my fault because who gets that when surrounded by such yummy food like Strawberry Matcha pancakes or Churro French Toast with kiwi, banana, berries and chantilly cream ‍ Anyways, we got the maple bacon beignets for the table and wow, that was delicious. Warm, fluffy, sweet, salty... yummm!! My son got the 2+2+2. At $23 it was a little pricey for two eggs, 2 bacon and 2 pancakes, but the pancakes were huge and barely fit on the plate. The bacon was also very thick and tasty. Warning: That the house made vanilla caramel syrup they serve is super addicting and you're gonna want to drizzle everything with it!! Everyone else at the table was really happy with what they ordered. Someone also ordered a biscuit on the side and that was by far the fluffiest biscuit I had ever seen. Usually they can be dry and hard, but this one was quite opposite. I've seen other pictures online and I guess it can be a hit or a miss because they don't seem to be consistent. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town and this time actually try the other plates I was eyeing

The food and cocktails were excellent, and it's clear the restaurant is striving to create an elevated dining experience. One thing that stood out was how thoughtful and inventive the menu felt. You can tell the chef has put a lot of creativity and care into the dishes, balancing familiar favorites with unique twists. It's definitely a cool and welcome addition to the Moorpark dining scene. We particularly enjoyed the Tropical Bird, Emma's Punch, Lemon Drop, and Mango Margarita Mocktail. The Crispy Calamari Strips were a great starter. For entrees, we enjoyed the Lamb Ragu, Parmesan Chicken Milanese, and Wild Mushroom Risotto with added chicken. All were all flavorful, beautifully prepared, and well-executed. The servings were huge (awesome!) and we had leftovers to enjoy the following day. The reason for the 4-star rating comes down to service details. While waiting to be acknowledged, we were overlooked by the hostess for other guests entering even though we were standing right in front of the host stand. Not a big deal, but didn't love the eye roll the hostess gave when I politely piped up that we had been waiting. Was not a great first impression. While our server was wonderful and friendly, there were several moments where empty plates and glasses accumulated on our table for an extended period of time. Our entrees arrived while many of our appetizer dishes and drink glasses were still sitting on the table. With several staff members circulating throughout the dining room, it felt like an opportunity was missed to provide the attentive table maintenance you'd expect from a restaurant aspiring to a fine dining level of service. These were relatively minor issues and seem more related to training and coordination than a lack of effort. The food, drinks, and atmosphere were all very good, and with a little more polish from the support staff and greeters, I think M on High Street could truly become the upscale dining experience it's aiming to be. We'd definitely return and look forward to seeing it continue to grow.

(No other patrons that I saw were subject to this scrutiny) The Ugly: we each had one drink and shared two yellow tail sashimi starters. The sashimi eaten we took the indignation in stride and decided to wait until the barmaid deemed it acceptable to serve us again. It also came with thick cuts of bacon. Definitely recommend this. For the tartare, it was also delicious and fresh. It was mixed with avocado and turnip. We thought the turnip would be off putting but it actually meshed well with the flavors. Came with fried wonton chips. For the main course we shared the NY strip and Lobster Malfaldine. The steak was cooked to perfection with a very nice sear and flavored well. Probably one of the better steaks I've ever had. Definitely beats out any steakhouse steak. The Lobster Malfaldine was also absolutely delicious. Most of the time, lobster pasta is usually a bit bland and lacking in lobster. NOT HERE. They included big chunks of lobster and the sauce was so good. Lastly, we ended our dinner with the Strawberry Hand Pie. This is basically a warm strawberry strudel with vanilla bean ice cream. They used locally sourced strawberries and I'm still thinking about it as I'm writing this review. Adrienne was our server and she was very nice and attentive. When asked if we could take one of the many-many tables open again, they shared they have reservations. Surprised that 13 tables would be occupied outside (plus those inside), we decided this place wasn't for us. The young lady at the entrance was who was "helping" us, and she was the reason why we ultimately left. Other employees seemed fine, but she seemed profile-y.

But it truly was met with the skepticism of a hostess trying to prevent someone from scamming their way into the establishment. When she ultimately found our reservation, she seemed shocked and suddenly her tone shifted. But it was a weird few minutes of feeling like we were some kind of con artists pulling a fast one. The place was jam packed, so service was very slow - we waited probably 15 minutes for our server to arrive. Which was strange because it's not like they were unexpectedly inundated with a crush of people, this place had been booked solid for weeks! The amount of activity was 100% predictable. Nothing about the menu was really explained, but we were prepared so we just helped the person out by giving our full order immediately using the internet for guidance on what to get. Again, once the food started coming out, it was genuinely fantastic. Not a bad item on the menu. But be prepared to know what you want and be ready when they have time for you. And absolutely come with proof of a reservation! You'll be glad you have it. And get ready for a delicious meal!
