Ribs, brisket and sausage plate! Bbq sauce was really tasty!

Good barbecue in a small, quiet setting. The sausage was some of the best I've ever had! It's dusted w/ Cajun seasoning that gave it that extra little punch that sausage needs. Brisket was good and the ribs were just ok. Give this place a try if you crave bbq, you won't be disappointed!

What's not to like about a BBQ joint situated in an old gas station building in the shadow of the interstate where they put a plate of hot cornbread in front f you before going and getting you a menu? Answer: Nothing. Especially when every minute of the dining experience makes you question how you managed to pull off the road in Casper Wyoming and end up somewhere between a garage BBQ IN Tennessee and a juke joint in South Louisiana. We have another winner here, and one worthy of a cross country culinary search. We ate ribs, beans, and Mac & cheese. In my opinion this is the Holy Trinity of BBQ. UNLESS you are in Texas where brisket is the mandatory meat. Any other side is a waste of human vitality when you are contemplating fine BBQ. Q in Casper has well earned its title as the community favorite restaurant. The food quality is matched by enthusiastic service. Great job all!!! Go for a sauce of your preference, traditional, sweet, spiced, it's all great. I don't remember when I was through with my plate and spooned the remaining sauces from the beans, Mac, and meat trying to figure out what made each of them so tasty. Just a point of reference, there was nearly as much meat in the beans as the legumes. These are absolutely world class until you get into Southwest Anasazi, but that's a whole different world of legume love. Overnight in Casper? Don't miss this joint. Get there early or expect a wait for seating. But the wait will be worth it!

Well I had the brisket and Q with salad and drink. Every thing seemed to taste alright except the drink. I made it home and that is when everything went south. I am not sure if I will ever be able to eat BBQ again. I have never been that sick for a long time. And still lingering on today. I hope no one else had that experience yesterday.

I was in Casper for a conference and found this place by chance and it was fantastic. Service was great, food was great. Probably the best sweet potato fries and creamiest Mac I've ever had. Ribs and brisket were good. Just overall great food, service and atmosphere. I'm in Casper 1-2 times a year and this will be on my list of places to eat from now on when I visit.

We stopped in for lunch. $30.71 (+ tip) bought a double appetizer of onion rings and zucchini fries, and a 2 meat (brisket, ribs), 2 sides (steamed broccoli and mac 'n cheese) platter, with a refillable soft drink (Pepsi products). We started out with very good cornbread topped with honey butter. Yum. The zucchini fries, while a bit too salty, were nevertheless as tasty as they were unusual. The onion rings were standard commercial fare, but paired well with the mildest of the three excellent house sauces. Both meats had good smoke, but the ribs did not separate cleanly at the bite, and needed the spiciest of the three sauces provided to bring them to life. The same was even more true of the chopped brisket, which otherwise tasted like tender but unseasoned pot roast. There is limited seating here, and the service was slow. For us, therefore, there was not enough here to warrant a return visit.

Had the Monday special-- full rack of ribs and 2 sides for $20. I couldn't believe the value. Excellent dry rub and cook on the ribs, and the baked beans had substantial pieces of brisket. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Casper to stop by.

Long day that ended in a fantastic meal! Wow! AMAZING! This does not say enough! After 10 hours driving we were looking for a place. I'm glad I found this. We had Prime Rib, an HQ burger, and the Q Plate. When we first got there, we were welcomed with fantastic warm cornbread. Each bite was more amazing. Do yourself a favor and stop and give this a try. I live 7 hrs away and just might bring a group back to have dinner.

We went to this restaurant for dinner and I ordered a plate of brisket. And they gave me pork and "brisket". I wouldn't call him brisket. It was just shredded meat with bbq sauce to give it flavor. I don't like pork. They only deceive people by selling their shredded meat. They don't know how to cook a good brisket, don't be fooled. And they are not cheap

Stopped in for a bite while traveling through. Lots of parking available as it looks like its in what was an old gas station. Somewhat small inside but good if you have a large group too. Their menu boats fresh squeezed juice every day. We asked what the juice of the day was and found out it was pineapple, strawberry, orange spritzer. It was tasty and refreshing. My husband ordered "the top two" which includes the ribs and brisket and two sides. He opted for the zucchini fries and the brisket chili. For meat that is supposed to be smoked each day, he found very little smoke flavor. He got the bourbon habanero sauce and found it to be good with a weak kick at the end. The chili had barely any meat in it - in fact he called it "salsa." The zucchini fries were delicious. Would ordered those again. Perfect crunch although some were a little saltier then others. I tried the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese. The pulled pork with very moist and the bun was delicious. I got the sweet sauce and really enjoyed the tang. The mac n cheese was decent. White cheddar - although it could have used some more salt.

Oh my!!! We drove 12 hours today and needed a good meal. HQ BBQ did not disappoint! We had the Bonedaddy with zucchini fries, sweet potato fries, brisket chili and cornbread. The dry rub on the ribs was perfectly balanced-not too salty with great seasonings. All three bbq sauces were equally amazing! It was truly difficult to decide how to best savor every bite. The only reason I gave 4 Stars was because we had to wait 45 minutes for our take out order. In retrospect I would wait ALL DAY for food this good! read more

It's not the best BBQ in the world but it is the best BBQ in Casper (excluding some outside food truck that may role through). All the meat is flavorful and tender. The sauces are excellent and the sides are also good. The location is a little odd but so are most businesses in Casper. read more

Stopped by for dinner while passing through Casper and went with 2 other work colleagues. Ordered the potato skins Q style which had a generous portion of pulled pork. I ordered the rib and brisket plate with beans and Mac. The portions were very large and probably could share this dish between 2 people. I wind up taking home most of the brisket. My buddies each got a sandwich and again both were unable to finish their meals. Felt the prices were in line with bbq you get in Texas...who would have thought Wyoming could offer the same great taste as the major bbq cities. read more

Great food, and even better service! Visiting Casper on business and dropped by this little joint for lunch. Excellent pulled pork and the bourbon habanero sauce went amazingly with it. Mac and cheese was good and love how they serve it in mason jars. Definitely a must visit if you are passing by or in the area. The service is warm and friendly as well, you can't go wrong stopping by here for your next BBQ craving! read more

I had a great experience here. Most all the food is made daily so don't show up late or they may not have anything left. A little tricky to find, i enjoyed the atmosphere and use of an old Gas station. Napkins were dish rags, brilliant idea IMO! I had dry rub chicken wings and they were really tasty with a cold beer... A little salty but packed with flavor and tender! I also had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with the regular BBQ sauce and was blown away my the flavor of the meat complimented with the sauce!... Even at the end of the days the pork was tender and filled with smoked and charred yummy bits! I will deff be back to this place again to eat BBQ in Casper. read more

Walked in an we're greeted immediately, we were looking forward to eating here. There was a small family still waited to be seated when we walked in. About 10 min of standing in the front entrance still waiting to be seated we decided to leave. there were only 3 other couples in the building with plenty of places to be seated an the employees kept walking past us. It wasn't until we started to walk out that we we're spoken to for the second time. We left. read more

Located in a cool remodeled gas station, it is definitely delicious. We just got takeout: pulled pork sandwiches with fries, and chicken wings. They have a great menu, so I will definitely come back to try more the next time I am in Casper to try more. read more

I ate here for the first time yesterday. I did not catch the name of the server, but he was amazing. Incredibly attentive and thoughtful. Me and my friends sat outside and I had my service dog with me. He offered her water and offered to refill it when it was empty. I ordered the half chicken with Mac and Cheese and beans as my 2 sides. The food was inexpensive and likely the best Mac and Cheese I've ever had. This will be a regular place for me when I visit Casper! read more

Came here for lunch on a Friday. Was sat right away and service was nice. We got the top 2 with Mac and cheese and zuchinni fries. The sides were the best things we ate. The ribs were DRY. I mean it came with 4 ribs and there were 2 left on out plate. The brisket was ok but seriously lacking flavor and there was no hint of smoke in either meat. Like none. We come up to Casper a few times a year and maybe I'll give it another go bc I'm thinking like how could the reviews be so off. But based off of what we ate today I would say Texas Roadhouse is a better bet. Sorry I hate giving bad reviews especially when it seems like a local favorite. read more

Best barbecue around! I make it a point to stop here every time I come to town and have never had a bad experience. I have also brought many first timers and they now all stop religiously as well. The dry rub on the ribs is a great way to go and the bourbon habanero sauce is excellent on any item. Add an andouille sausage and put yourself in a meat coma. read more

I would have given it no stars if I could have. Not because the food, that has always been great. HQ has for a long time been my favorite place to eat. I have recommended it to countless people, my wife and I have had countless anniversary dinners there. My grandkids love the Mac and cheese, HQ has great food but the people serving the food make it hard to enjoy. My wife said I should leave it along but I can't, I have loved this establishment for years. But back to the case at hand, my wife and I decided to go out the other day ( first time in months). So we chose HQ, easy choice right? Wrong! We walk in and a woman behind the counter was on the phone, so we waited Patiently for her to finish. Once she had she looked at us very annoyed and ask what she could do for us. We asked to be seated and she proceeds to roll her eyes and walks us to the table. I brushed it off she was probably having a long day. We sat over by the bar our server was Olivia, she was amazing but sadly we caught her at the end of her shift. But she still served us with a smile and loads of laughs. I had almost forgotten about our run in with Lana, I ended up hearing Olivia call her by her name. But I went to go wash my hands (the ribs are amazing but definitely messy). As I was walking back I over heard Lana talk to another employee about how why should they care if Doug and Heidi don't ( I'm assuming that's the owners ). I also heard her talk about how she has Heidi wrapped around her finger and how Doug is just worried about the bottle. I proceeded to walk past them to my wife and paid our bill. We had asked for boxes for the rest of our food and yet again Olivia was amazing. We left her a nice tip and said our good byes. As I was walk out the door I realized I for got our food and when I turned around I watched Lana grab some of the tip and put it in her pocket. The other one went behind the bar in Olivias absence and pour shots for them. Out of sheer discussed I left without my food and will not be returning. Not because of the food but the people 1 out of the three people I dealt with was nice. One of them literally stole from another and if that's the people the owner will hire I cannot imagine what they are like. Except now I understand why every time I have tried to order a drink there it's been out( the staff and owners are drinking it all). I do apologize for this super long review but I wanted to express that the food is tremendous some might even say godly but is ran by sinners and thieves. read more

We were very disappointed, considering HQ has a stellar reputation. My brisket was tasteless the shrimp was poor and the silverware was dirty. The macaroni and cheese was good as were the baked beans, but overall, the experience was disappointing. We're not coming back. read more

Best barbecue in Wyoming. Jacob was a friendly and helpful server. I had the brisket sandwich but could not decide on the sauce so he brought us all three to try. The portions are more than generous and the onion rings are excellent. It looks like a gas station from the front but don't let that deter you. Great food and great atmosphere!!! read more

Great barbeque in Wyoming. Brisket is as good as in TEXAS.service lil slow, and chaotic but there are not that many choices in this part of USA. Easy on off from the highway. Definitely A+ barbeque. read more

I have been to this place quite a few times, and they have the BEST macaroni and cheese in the world! I would go there just for the mac and cheese. They have a great selection of sides too, there really is something for everyone. I usually get the Q sandwich which is very tasty, but the meat without sauce on it is pretty bland. You pretty much have to order extra bbq sauce to cover up the boring meat. I love the building, they have turned an old gas station into a restaurant. The roll up doors and industrial look are still intact which I think looks great. I have been here a few times where the wait staff was very unprofessional. Another time I went in there, my drinking glass had not been washed properly and had apparently come in contact with some super duper hot sauce and when I drank from it, my face felt like it was on fire. All in all, great food, poor service. read more

The Wings my dining partner and I shared were great! Smokey, tender and full of flavor - not greasy... Pretty tasty stuff My burger, while a little over cooked, was nicely seasoned, and flavorful. The pico and avocado were fresh - In fact, I think they slice the Avo to order. Ribs were tasty. I felt they could have been cooked a bit longer, but at least they were moist, flavorful, and while not fall-off-the-bone, tender enough to be ripped from the bone tenderly and without much trouble. All in all, fair 3 stars in a place with culture - Solid 4 stars for Casper. read more

Very good BBQ tucked away in an old gas station building. Friendly attentive staff. Rustic yet inviting interior makes you feel comfortable. Had the top two plate which was Memphis dry rubbed ribs and chopped brisket, both were great. Ribs were great with just dry rub but I liked the brisket with the original sauce. Ultimate Mac n cheese was cheesy and tasty and onion rings were crisp and light. Highly recommend this joint to anyone looking for some delicious BBQ in a laid back atmosphere. read more

Great place for traditional slow smoked bbq. The side dishes are excellent too. It can get busy with its interstate location. I recommend the dry rub ribs or brisket. The epic Mac and cheese speaks for its self. Full bar available as well. read more

Excellent bbq. Service was fast and friendly. Glad we stopped in as we traveled through Wyoming! Good selection of sauces, appetizers and entrees. The cornbread muffins our server brought when we were seated were great. The HQ skins are out of this world and were its own meal. The Epic mac n cheese lives up to its name. Our brisket sandwiches were generous and delicious. Highly recommend. Will make a point of coming back in the future. read more

Great atmosphere, great staff, and good food. I didn't expect to find this quality of BBQ in Casper, WY. The kids had pulled pork and ribs and it was all top notch. I ventured into the finicky world of brisket. It was not the worst or the best I've ever had. The sauce was good, but it was in the dry side. I will come back again, but will stick to the ribs. read more

Great, locally owned place for REAL barbecue. It's not very big, so there may be a wait at peak times, but it's worth it. The meat is smoked, slow-roasted, and amazingly delicious. Their homemade sauces range from sweet to spicy. The ribs are delicious, but my favorites are the brisket and pulled pork. They are both to die for. The only thing I've ever had there that I haven't absolutely loved was a prime rib (it was a special). I thought it was pretty average. But when everything else on your menu is amazing, it definitely stands out as less than stellar. Definitely worth checking out. read more

I almost don't want to leave a review because I don't want to wait when I get to my favorite BBQ place (in Wyoming, definitely. nationwide, not sure yet.) But this is a great place to get your fill of BBQ, burgers, chicken. I have a colleague who worked in Casper for a duration of two months and he went to HQ almost every night for dinner. I recommend getting their chicken wings for an appetizer. My husband loves their shrimp poor boy, second only to their ribs. I've not had anything I disliked here. Also, the staff is terrific. Ask what they would recomend if everything looks good on the menu and you can't decide! read more

Best BBQ in town. Don't miss out on the chicken wings they are the Bomb. I'd give 5 stars but honestly sometimes their meat is a little dry. My best guess is it happens when you get the last of batch off the q. Even with that being said they are delish. read more

Traveling through Wyoming we stopped in Casper to ride the Platte River Trail. After 20-plus windy miles on our bikes we were looking for good food and cold beer. We found both at HQ BBQ. The staff was excellent: service was prompt and attentive. The ribs and brisket were smoked perfectly, tender, and delivered with a tangy, not overly sweet traditional BBQ sauce. The fries were hot, coleslaw crisp, and baked beans tender. HQ BBQ offers a nice selection of local craft beer as well as national brands. Has anyone else noticed that all the serves Stink like weed every time. Hey I use to that stuff to when I was a kid but you know we left it at home. went there for the first time Sunday and you had people sitting at the bar drinking turns out they work there funny right. Our serve jake I think he name was came over greeted me and my kids. He I think tried to flirt with me it was painful to watch. I love BBQ and it is so hard to find good BBQ; I have been to HQ now twice and I can say it was ok but I was hoping for much better. The pulled pork just was dry and didn't have enough flavor unless you drenched it in sauce. My friend said his hamburger was good but this is a BBQ place and the pulled pork should be better than a hamburger. The first time I went there I ordered the ribs and was unimpressed but ribs can be hit or miss and I understand this from my own rib creating adventures. I will give them another try! read more
