Our family loves Huckleberry's, and this location is no exception. We had the fried green tomatoes and the beignets to start - both were so good! The beignets come with berry jams which were delicious! The portions are HUGE here for the price. And I've now tried just about everything on the menu. I love their catfish dish, snd both the catfish and shrimp poboys. I also love their Louisiana omelette. Honestly I love everything on here except their breakfast burrito. That's the only thing I would skip. But huckleberry lemonade is to die for! Get it! The servers are always nice, they're pretty busy trying to get everyone in and out as happy as possible. This is a fun tourist spot in the Anaheim Gardenwalk with an interior loaded with swamp decorations and gators. Definitely stepping into another (super kid-friendly) world. The menu is Southern food and the portions are hearty. The tasty Bananas Fosters platter gets you eggs, bacon, or sausage, and the bananas, Foster French toast plus a couple of fried green tomatoes. I have to admit, the fried green tomatoes are my favorite thing I've had on their menu. My husband really enjoys the catfish - he lived on the Mississippi when he was in the Army and this is the first place he's found in California where he always orders the catfish. In fact, he calls Huckleberry's, "The catfish restaurant." The Mardi Gras beignets are good but too expensive for what you get -- spends that money on a side of fried green tomatoes. Brewed iced tea! Nice spot for breakfast, brunch, and/or lunch. Lots of options and although we stuck to breakfast, several of the lunch items looked very tempting. Ham lovers will delight at the thickly sliced cuts and waffle cravings will be more than satisfied. Service was good, but spotty. Food came out quick, but servers seemed to be attending to tables in a scattered way. They have a Happy Birthday bot! It was fun to watch that thing milling around on its own. The restaurant is located on the south end of the Gardenwalk property, closer toward the restaurants on Katella rather than Disney Way. I really like the decor of this place. It really fits into the theme of what it is trying to portray. Service was really nice since we were the only ones at the restaurant at the moment. For food we got the beignets and also the fried catfish with toast and also the soup of the day. The beignets were alittle too doughy and it got a tad mushy in the middle for my liking but I thought the additional jams and sauces they added helped with the dish in case it got dry. For the fried catfish, it was fried well but it was just alittle bit on the dry side but not by much. The tortilla chicken soup that we got for the soup of the day was really good though. I would come here again to try their other menu items since you don't see a lot of southern cuisine brunch places in general. read more

We had the best waiter ever! His name was Chaz, and he was everything a wait staff should be and more. Super responsive and friendly. The restaurant is in an outdoor mall on the 4th floor. It seemed like a newer mall, since there were several new restaurants and shops opening on the floor. The menu provides many fun options for breakfast or brunch. We had fried green tomatoes Benedict, biscuits and gravy with eggs and fruit, chicken tenders and fries and fried chicken and waffles. Oh, and let's not forget their signature beignets, which are a must for any visit here. Sadly, I don't have a photo of the beignets. They were eaten fast, but I can tell you they were giant, puffy, fried delights sitting four to a plate with vanilla crème, peach, huckleberry and strawberry jam on the side for dipping. My family aka most licked the plate, I swear. We were probably not starving after eating the beignets, but continued on, nevertheless. The chicken had a nice crunchy, crust, but was a little dry I hear. The biscuits and gravy had a nice chicken sausage patty, plenty of gravy atop a huge biscuit. The fried tomatoes were the best. Crunchy ontop of avocado mash and perfectly cooked poached eggs, all seated on an English muffin. There's a lot more to explore on this menu. And it all looks good. read more

Huckleberry is a good spot for breakfast, and they definitely don't hold back on portions. I had the Mississippi Skillet--it was just okay. The onions were a bit undercooked and too crunchy for my taste. I also tried the chicken and waffles; unfortunately, the chicken was a little dry. On the bright side, the customer service was excellent, and the atmosphere was really pleasant. I was surprised. I thought the food would be better. First we just wanted blueberry pancakes but they have huckleberry which is fine but not what we wanted. I got the French toast and eggs with fried green tomatoes. The fried green tomatoes were bland, when I have had them in the past they were sweet. These had no flavor. We went on a Saturday morning & for a party of 2, we didn't even wait, we got seated right away! I for one, enjoy the decor. I love the crocodile they have on the wall & the big tree at the cashier. We ordered coffee & OJ as we looked over the menu. We ordered Banana Foster French Toast Platter & Crab Cakes Benedict. It came at a timely manner. I loved the green tomato patties that came in my platter. Along with the sauce, I don't know what it is, but it's good!! It's a good amount of food! French toast, bacon (or sausage) eggs, and the green tomato patties. The crab cake came with two cakes, choice of potatoes (hash browns/house potatoes) I liked the French toast, very sweet. The bacon tasted a little salty but it could have been because I just had taken a few bites of the sweet French toast. The crab cake was crispy, tasty but the egg was a little overpowering. Came in today with the family, ordered fried green tomatoes and beignet's as an appetizer. The fried green tomatoes were super crispy and the sauce that they provided with it was amazing. It was so amazing, my 6 year old even liked it, and that's saying something. The Beignets were great as well, we tried them out here (somewhere else) and the wife said that these were better. As for the meal, I ordered the French Toast, and so did my 9 year old, they were excellent. Otherwise, the rest of the family had bacon and eggs, all which were cooked to perfection. The waiter was friendly, and very patient with us. He was on top of it, and got us everything we needed/wanted. The restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms. My bf has been wanting to try this place for a bit now so we stopped in. We came on a Sunday morning around 10am. Wasn't too packed and we got seated within 10 mins. I got a tea and he tried the gator juice. Employees were all friendly and since I was indecisive I asked the waiter for his recommendation out of 3 things I picked from the menu. He recommended the sweet cream pancakes and OMG they were so yummy . My bf had the spicy chicken sandwich to which he was disappointed. The pancakes were the perfect sweetness and soft, hash browns were cooked perfectly with a little crisp. Chicken sandwich just didn't have any kick at all. Just a mild buffalo sauce on it but the breading didn't have any kick to it either. He expected some kick and it just didn't deliver. Outside of the spice the chicken was good. Not over fried or anything, fries were crispy. Not too loud in the restaurant , decor is cute. Would definitely come back again. We came to Huckleberry's in Anaheim for the first time on a Friday at 11:45 AM. The restaurant was not busy, yet from the moment we walked in, we were completely ignored. A man stood at the front counting something and didn't even bother to look up, greet us, or ask if we needed help. First impressions matter -- and this one was terrible. Service throughout the meal was just as disappointing. My son's food was brought out without any forks, knives, or silverware. No one checked back to see if we needed anything. The staff came across as disengaged and frankly rude. The cleanliness was unacceptable. The floors looked dirty, as if they hadn't been swept or mopped in quite some time. For a restaurant that charges above-average prices, basic cleanliness should not be an issue. As for the food -- it was average at best. Honestly, it tasted like something you'd get at Denny's, except at a much higher price point. The quality does not match the cost. Overall, this experience was a major letdown. Between the lack of hospitality, poor service, dirty floors, and overpriced mediocre food, there is absolutely no reason to return. Management seriously needs to address customer service standards and cleanliness at this location. The strawberry lemonade was good. I told the waiter that the French toast didn't taste like cinnamon it tastes like just eggs, bread and lots of butter he replied this is just French toast. lol read more

Ambiance is like old school Cajun Bayou style with a robot that will service you food. We did see the robot delivering food to other tables but not ours. I wanted to experience the robot bringing us food. We started off with drinks. The huckleberry tea and peach tea. Both teas were huge and filled with fruit. They come in giant mason jars that are sugar rimmed. The peach one was ok. The huckleberry one was good and I enjoyed it. It had lots of fruit in it too. This place serves big portions. It is located inside the mall and they validate parking. For food I had the eggs Benedict Cajun style which was sourdough, sausages, eggs and eggs Benedict sauce. It was good and delicious. I've been here before for the beignets and wanted my boyfriend to experience them. We were in the area and decided to make it a whole meal. I got the iced Carmel machiatto and it was made with REAL espresso. My boyfriend loved the spicy chicken sandwich, saying it was flavorful and moist. The chili cheese fries were a huge serving and full of flavor. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs as they were fluffy and the hashbrowns were nice and crispy. I was disappointed with the chicken tenders and the waffle. The waffle had a strange aftertaste and the chicken was VERY rubbery. I thought it would be cause it got cold (from eating the eggs and hashbrowns first) so I brought it home. Heating it up, became even more rubbery. Our server was very kind and made sure we were always taken care of. The restaurant was busy but it didn't seem to affect the service or speed the food came out. Had the bananas fosters French toast and it was absolutely heaven. The added crunch from the nuts on top with the banana and the sauce that came on top was chefs kiss. I was looking for a new kid friendly brunch place to check out and stumbled upon Huckleberry's on yelp. We arrived around 11 am on a Saturday and standby waiting time was around 20 minutes. I enjoyed the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. It definitely gave off the "southern" aesthetics which enhanced the dining experience. Our server was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I had high hopes for Huckleberry's. I love Southern-style restaurants. But I definitely ordered the wrong thing on their menu. I had the Louisiana Catfish dish. My first mistake was ordering something that wasn't fried or a classic breakfast. I should have gone with the po' boy, but I was trying to be "healthy." I probably would have given another star if I ordered that instead because the catfish was just bland. The whole dish was rather unappetizing actually. My second mistake was not asking if there was pork anywhere in the dish. I didn't read the description carefully enough, which says the catfish comes on jambalaya, which has sausage in it. I get really sick when I eat pork. So I had to eat around it. They should really spell it out for people. But as it is a Cajun restaurant, just assume there's pork unless you ask. My husband got the Louisiana Omelette and really enjoyed it, so at least he had a good meal. Also their coffee was great, as was the blueberry muffin we shared. But don't be like me. Go for the decadent stuff. Not the broiled fish with a side you can't even eat. Service was great despite my distaste for my meal. Our server did ask if I wanted something else instead, but I didn't want to make a fuss. Ambiance is also fun and their booths are comfy. Service was terrible. We came on a Thursday morning and the restaurant was not too busy. But my husband & I were sat in this weird side room all alone. No music, no other people sat in that section. Almost like they didnt want our service. Drinks took forever to come out and our server (mid age lady white short curly blonde/gray hair) was slightly rude. Food was mid.
