I really don't understand all the fuss about the Huddle House. The food is very average, depending on the time of day you're there it could take a long time before you get it. My wife and I went there for breakfast, it took a long time for just basic breakfast food and there were items that were cold. This was not our first visit there, but there's a good chance it will be our last visit there. If you don't mind institutional type food, then this place may be OK for you. I would have to give this place a solid 3 stars. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, I heard this place recently opened this past summer, and since its in the New Landstown Centre shopping center near my work i wanted to stop by and check it out. I wanted to start off my day with a hearty meal. My friend and I came here on a weekday around 9 am. It took our server a while to greet us bc she was busy with other tables. We waited about 5 minutes :( thumbs down. We shared a Country Fried Steak Platter which comes with eggs, hash, and grits and added side of pancakes. Food took about 15-20 mins to make. We were the only ones there at the time. It took a while probably bc they're new. Anyway our server was friendly and attentive. The food was good but it wasn't amazing or anything. I saw their dessert menu which looked pretty good. I would probably come here if I wanted waffles and ice cream. Overall it's a quaint, clean, 50's themed, modern breakfast joint. What I like here is their combo platters. I would still go to IHOP though. read more

This is my second time going here and both were equally as bad. Food came out cold. When I told the waiter. His suggestion was to microwave it. Extra charges were on the bill and service sucked. Family and I decided to dine here for brunch and our experience was beyond acceptable. The waiter greeted us promptly and got our drinks promptly. That is where the prompt and good service stopped. We waited for our order and when received it , it was wrong and cold.. The kitchen placed bacon on a non club sandwich and gave it to a person in our party that doesn't eat pork for health related issues. Our grits, waffle, and eggs were so cold they looked like a still picture in a magazine. And to make matters worst there was hair in our food. When we quietly and respectfully addressed with waiter she never offered to change food, or for us to talk to supervisor, her reply was and I quote " well I'm sorry so what are we doing here?" Given that reply we thanked her for her service and left to go to IHOP, thank goodness it was right across the street. With that said save your self the time and money. I received half cooked bacon, a tiny portion of hash browns, and for the final insult, NO BUTTER! The meal comes with toast & a pancake, both useless without butter! This morning at 11:35 we entered. A waitress yelled at us from the kitchen "Hi, just sit over there" (not sure where there was, but sat down anyway). She and the person who waited on us had a discussion as to who was going to serve us. We ordered. We waited; and we waited; and we waited. In that time, a woman by herself entered; 2 men entered. They both received their food as we continued to wait. At 12:00 when the food was lost somewhere, we mentioned to the waitress that we were really not happy having to wait so long as others had been served. One waitress (the one who yelled) said to anyone who was listening, well, when the food comes out, the food comes out! Then our waitress apologized explaining that they were short a cook. Fine, anything can happen; however, then the waitress who then brought our food said in our conversation with her, that not having staff was not her fault. We got up, paid for the coffee my husband had and left. The brunette in the orange or pink shirt, the heavily endowed waitress with the biggest attitude need customer service training or you need to find people who are good with the public. Maybe they had a bad beginning; it was our first time there and it will be the last. We will also express our experience to friends, family and anyone else who wants to know. The gentleman who was cooking did come outside to apologize profusely. He was the only bright spot in a really bad experience. We have been here a few times since they have opened and the food is what to be expected from a chain. Our wait is usually 15-20 minutes and our servers are what you can expect from a chain they are just waitress/waiters taking your order. My food has never been cold but nothing to rave about either. I like them better then IHOP and the price is great for what you're getting. I have always gotten breakfast/brunch food. I do really enjoy their waffles and the large scoop of butter. We get coupons that we use every time we come so our brunch is always less than $20. Which if I don't want to cook is well worth it. read more

We have been to this location a couple of times. Although the parking can be an issue at times, the food is always good. Hopefully the parking will get better once the construction next door is completed. We had a great experience last night (Thursday 11/12) while dining here. Our waitress, Michelle, was great. She was very friendly, interacted and joked with our children, made us laugh and feel welcomed. Our drinks never had a chance to get empty, we had everything we needed, and the check was brought to the table without having to be asked for. Thank you for making our night an enjoyable one and we will be back to see you and so our son can "drink the syrup bottle" again. If you have not been to this, check it out. Typical Waffle House-like breakfast. Made fast and tastes great. This place is in our regular rotation for Saturday morning breakfasts with IHOP, Cracker Barrel, etc. There are two drawbacks: first, parking is a nightmare so we don't go as often as we might otherwise and second, the tables are so close together. You will feel like you're sitting with strangers. Otherwise decent breakfast for a fair price. read more

I've eaten here three times. They have pretty good service. I love their sausage gravy and biscuits! But I've not had anything I didn't like here. Nothing is on the light side of dining. It's all stick your ribs- make sure you worked out today - calorie count, but at least it taste great. Prices are reasonable, and the place is very clean and cozy. read more

We will not be going back to Huddle House. We had terrible and extremely slow service. When the food did eventually arrive our order was wrong and merely lukewarm. My husband had to send his back and by the time the correct food came out we were completely over the whole place. read more

Went to Huddle House for the first time today with my brother and father today. The food was okay...not great, but not bad. The server was a little slow on my dad's coffee refill...we had to flag her down to get her attention. Overall, an okay experience, but if anyone were to ask me "Where do you want to go eat?" this would not be my choice. read more

Extremely disappointed. Cannot rate on food, because after 45 minutes of waiting we paid for our drinks and left. Table behind ours had to re-order twice and a young boy across from us actually fell asleep waiting on his food. Parking was atrocious - had to park in vicinity of Jersey Mikes. Watched manager having to comp two checks. We're talking breakfast on a Saturday afternoon. Waitstaff was friendly, kitchen inadequate by far. Someone said IHOP and we followed suit. Shame - we were anxious to try the stuffed hash browns. I understand a new restaraunt, but they've been open for awhile. Would only recommend if you need to kill off a few hours. read more

If you like Waffle House you will like HH. Waffles are good and get plenty of food for your money. Place is small but clean and has a lot of seating. The food was good. I don't mind the huddle house. Used to go there when I lived in South Carolina. I have kind of missed the place. Was glad to see one opened at the beach. Large portions of food. I thought this place was decent. Comparable to breakfast places like IHOP. Andrew and I were in the area, so we decided to give this place a try. I saw the signs for their sirloin tips, so I decided on ordering that. I wasn't too impressed, and wasn't a fan of the flavor. Andrew ordered the Smokehouse Platter, which was pretty good. Huddle House is quickly becoming a family favorite. I would describe it as a cross between Denny's and WaffleHouse, but better. I especially recommend HH for breakfast. Their waffles and hash browns are amazing. The only item I wasn't impressed with was their burgers. They were somewhat small compared to other restaurants (Red Robin). Make sure to look into their rewards program to earn points for future visits and complete the survey on the receipt to receive free mozzarella sticks. read more

We had a large 11 person party. We had to get seated at separate tables which we were ok with. We put the kids together at one table. It didn't take long to get seated but our waitress was rude. I think her name was Darleen. We had coupons and she rolled her eyes several times while we were ordering. When we asked for refills we said Thank you and she didn't even respond. The food took longer than usual to get to us and it was cold. The prices are good for a family but it doesn't accommodate good seating for families. We had a variety of things. I had some pretty bad service here, twice. This is the worst Huddle house I've been to. The most recent visit, I had a waiterss named Amber who seemed inconvenienced by me. Our food was cold, and I had to send two items back that were incorrect. I still left 20% because I'm not an jerk, but I installed yelp just to leave this review. I had to re-review this place. We went this afternoon for a late lunch. No wait this time and got a decent parking spot for a change. Got the "cool" circular booth under the neon sign the kids wanted. I didn't hear how the waitress (I don't want to spell out her name but it began w/ the letter 'D') spoke to my husband as she was wiping it down but he said she was rude. He wanted another waitress or leave after but I convinced him to stay anyway. I wished I had agreed to leave when he wanted because it was just downhill Fr there. Not all of us had finger foods but still no silverware. My philly cheese steak w/ bacon didn't come w/ bacon so she took it back. After I had eaten the first half I noticed a piece of hair on the 2nd half. Needless to say I was done after that. My onion rings were also over cooked. My husband 's triple decker was half the size it normally is and rubbery. His fries had so much salt on them that you had to brush the fires off before eating one. We had an issue w/ the extra bacon we ordered for a dollar. The same waitress said she could not honor that deal because she already rang up the ticket. My husband called her out on her laziness of not wanting to go back and ring up another ticket so he asked to speak to the manager. She comes back w/ a revised ticket and never go the manager. This place was pretty decent the first few months. We loved going here for the food and customer service. But these last 3 visit have turned us off and we will not be returning customers. read more

Have eaten here twice for dinner with fam in town and both times the food was quite tasty; in fact, it was better than I thought it would be! This is my second time at this particular Huddle House and I have to say I am disappointed. The first time I came for brunch on my birthday with my husband. The service was great, food was hot and delicious. Today is Valentine's day and we were seated almost immediately but it took almost 30 minutes to get our food and when we did get it the food was cold like it had sat forgotten. Our whole order was not brought out, in fact, several items were forgotten. The waitress spilled water on my 3 year old. It was just a not good experience. read more

Since they opened at Landstown, my wife has been wanting to give them a try. With our kitchen in middle of a remodel, we decided to give them a try for breakfast this morning. We entered the establishment and were immediately greeted by a smile young girl whom found us a table. Then things took a turn for the worst, we sat for 10 minutes before being asked if we wanted something to drink. The patrons at tables around us must have taken notice to our lack of service, because they helped get the attention of a waitress for us. We placed our order and it arrived in a timely manner however almost non of the food was what I would consider even warm. Toast was just plain cold, cold enough that the butter didn't even begin to melt. At least I can say I tried it, but we won't be back. read more
