I ended up coming back for brunch on the same weekend because I loved it so much, but I think I prefer their regular food vs brunch food. Thankfully they still offer their regular menu during brunch hours. Finally finally FINALLY got a chance to dine at the fabulous Hudson House and boy did this experience surpass my expectations. We wanted to safely enjoy a holiday brunch for book club and decided on the floating magic that is HH for our Secret Santa book exchange. The decor, firstly, is breathtaking. It's hands down one of the most gorgeous ornament displays I've ever seen in a restaurant. Hudson House gives me east coast vibes, while the booths add a fancy diner twist. We arrived for Saturday brunch after booking reservations in advance a few days before. It was a group of five us us, majority had never been before. Our table ordered brunch cocktails (the Bellinis are delicious and strong!), oysters, chicken and waffles, lobster Benedict, and steak and eggs. Everyone at the table was so happy with their choices. When the check arrived I didn't even realize the brunch cocktails were $5! What a great deal. The food came out hot and fresh, drinks were delicious, and the service was amazing. Completely forgot to take pictures of the food, I guess that means I have to go back soon? FINE. Covid notes: There wasn't intentional spacing between the tables, but they seemed distant enough from us. The entire staff wore masks, and mandated them as we walked in. I always enjoy Hudson House. It's a great upscale restaurant where I can still take my kids. The cocktails and oysters are the real draw. But everything there is really good. The lobster roll doesn't exactly measure up to what I get in New England but nothing in Texas does. I'm not going to knock them a star for that. read more

The flavors are incredible and the chips are excellent. This is better than most of the avocado based dips I have had at restaurants. (App) Daily Selection of Oysters - 5/5 - Hudson House sells extremely fresh oysters. They have a rotating selection based on season and availability, and the waiters are very knowledgeable about each oyster's flavor profiles. The pink peppercorn mignonette went so well with all of the East and West Coast oysters we got. (Main) Lobster Roll - 5/5 - The lobster was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bread was excellent, as were the fries. This tastes just like it should and like what you would expect if you ordered it in New England. (Main) French Chicken - 4/5 - The seasoning and cook on the chicken are excellent. This is like a chicken paillard, but on steroids because the chicken is soft and tender (as a result of the sous vide), and the lemon buerre blanc goes really well with both the chicken and the salad. The atmosphere of this restaurant pulls off what it is trying to achieve: a restaurant in New England. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes and all of the oysters, which came in very handy when we were asking about the flavor profiles of the oysters we ordered. Came here on a Sunday morning! With reservations we were sat immediately! I had the cheese burger and it was easily among the best I've had. I also ordered the truffle fries which had a really good flavor and crisp, but shoestring fries are my lease favorite fry type . I also had an espresso martini! I absolutely loved the espresso martini and honestly it goes down as one of the best drinks I've ever had. I got 2! Half off during happy hour! Oysters!!!!!!! Definitely order. Hudson House is one of our go-to's whenever we are craving a strong cocktail and a quality meal (which is often). We've been to a few of their locations, but this was the first time we visited this one. We sat at the bar, promptly placed our drink order, and watched our bartender work his magic. Our drinks were delicious and well worth the price, as always. The lovers mule was so refreshing. We couldn't pass on the truffle parm fries, which were so good I could have single handedly devoured another order. I tried the pan seared redfish as my main - it was flavorful and fresh, but just slightly overcooked. The bite I stole from the fish tacos was also delish. My review will not be long. This place speaks for itself. When we arrived, we were waiting 30 minutes for a table on a Saturday afternoon. It was less than 30 minutes. The food was totally awesome. I ordered the lobster roll and a side salad. The bar was serving one of a kind drinks, off the chain. It was all fresh and delicious. I do think the lobster could be served hot or cold. It came with a side of butter! It also came with celery as well, It was not a complete description of what came on the lobster roll. I would highly recommend this place. Went for NYE dinner with another couple, and was disappointed the X Mas decor was taken down. Overall service and wait times were long considering it wasn't busy. Food was meh. I'd recommend sticking to oysters and getting the chicken parm. Drinks were meh. The lemon martini was the best one by far, rest were average. The environment is bustling with a sort of Frenchy/warm vibe. The noise level was busy, but not so loud that you wouldn't consider this a nice place to take a date. I ordered the French Chicken. It was moist and delicious. The fries were overly salted, but my date disagreed and said he loved them. He ordered the HH Cheeseburger that came with an in-house made pickle, plus ordered a side of fries. He let me try the burger, and it was SO GOOD! The service was a little too over the top/disingenuous, but he was trying and attentive, so who am I to complain. The main downfall at this particular location is parking. With one bite, you feel as though you're in the Hudson Bay getting freshly caught seafood. Great sandwiches - they come in threes - evenly cut with a nice slaw-like fixing of beets on top along with some very citrusy yellow tomatoes on the base. The sesame bun is very flexible and melds well to the rest of the sandwich making for easy bites (not what you'd think to be the case from its initial appearance). With a side of truffle parm fries, this is a top-tier choice. Shoelace fries (a solid 9/10 for what they are) come with a side of special sauce & ketchup. That special sauce really is SOMETHING! We had an amazing brunch today! We all shared our food and it was so delicious! Let me see if I can remember! One of the girls ordered oysters, you pay market price per oyster! She couldn't quit talking about them. Only one other girl would eat it and they were both raving about how good they were. Another ordered French Toast and over cooked bacon, they made it specific to her request. It was perfectly made and just melted in your mouth. Next, was a fish taco and it was really good, it's actually wrapped like a burrito! She paired with fries and I'm going to be honest, the flavor was amazing, but the fries are cut so skinny, the get cold quickly and you have to shove a handful in your mouth to get the true flavors. Next, was Eggs Benedict with Lobster tail I think. She loved it, it had the best presentation and I did not taste that one! Last, was me and I ordered firecracker chicken and Mac and cheese! I enjoy every location, but mostly go to Addison or Lovers Ln. I had an annual holiday dinner with a friend at the lovers location last week and the food was fantastic. We started with blue point oysters, crispy salmon rice, and avocado dip! The star of the show for me was my chicken parm which has a spicy vodka pasta that is to die for. My friend got the steak frites and was pleased. We enjoyed a variety of wines and martinis (bleu and gold being my go to). My mom was craving a lobster roll after a recent Dr appointment so we tried to grab dinner at Hudson House. We were going to get a table and have dinner, but we didn't have a reservation and the wait was way too long, even for a Thursday. The hostess wasn't the most friendly, so we headed to the car. We went by the to-go entrance before giving up and were energetically greeted by one of the managers on duty. He said he could have a couple of lobster rolls out in about 10 minutes and would bring them to our car. He was so willing to help, inviting, and pleasant that he made up for the less than hospitable hostess. The food was delicious, perfectly satisfying my mom's craving after a long and stressful visit to the doctor. I can't wait to go back, find the guy that helped us, and thank him again for turning around our first impression of Hudson House. read more
