I refuse to eat seafood in Dallas because it is not a coastal city, and every time I do I am ALWAYS let down. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE HERE. Stopped in after a shopping trip to Highland Village. Great atmosphere, nice staff and great menu. I had the Ahi Tuna which was fantastic, perfectly seared with a delicious green tangy sauce drizzled underneath. The shoestring fries were also a hit. Seasoned to perfection and nice and crispy. Husband ordered the lobster roll which was just OK, wouldn't order next time. We had the cocktail shrimp as an appetizer and it was so good - very large shrimp and two sauces to dip. Staff was very nice, but the restaurant is obviously understaffed, so took quite a while to get drink refills etc. read more

Hudson House has probably the best bang for your buck Happy Hour food. For $10, you get an amazing burger that is for sure to fill you up. You can also take advantage of their amazing Oysters. The food here was exquisite as well as the service! I ordered the salmon and substituted the broccolini for au gratin potatoes. To drink, I had a glass of chardonnay. The salmon was flaky and clearly fresh. Omg, the glaze is to die for! I should have ordered a side of it. Salad also accompanied the entree, and surprisingly, every leaf was coated with dressing. The potatoes were cheesy and delicious, but they had a bit too much butter near the bottom of the dish for my taste. Chardonnay was a perfect pairing with the main course. (As an appetizer, some of my party shared a tray of oysters, but I did not partake. They seemed to enjoy them!) Overall, this was a fabulous dining experience. Our server took time to answer any questions we had about the menu and made suggestions. The atmosphere is nice for catching up with friends or date night alike. INCREDIBLE. This was definitely one of the best dinner experiences I've had in dallas all year. A HUGE thank you to our server Marco not only for his incredible menu knowledge but going above and beyond with my parents and I and guiding us through our amazing meal. We had shrimp cocktail (amazing), clams casino (amazing), tuna tartare (some of the best I've ever had), their lobster bisque was THE BEST I have ever had, the steak (perfect), the trout (really good), and the popcorn chicken (you can tell they make these in house, very fresh and juicy with some great dipping sauces). Came in here on a mid Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. Bartender was friendly and professional. Answered all our questions in regards to the menu. Assisted me in picking out a half dozen oysters and my better half got the cracked crab appetizer. The ambiance is old school with wood paneling, nice tall booths, beautiful bar. The oysters came displayed beautifully. The sauces that come with them ( yuzu vinaigrette, champagne ginger pink peppercorn mignonette, and classic cocktail) are what really kicks the oyster eating experience up a notch. The better half had nothing but compliments for the crab. Parking is a bit pain as this establishment is on the street with no dedicated parking lot. Will I go back, yes but early. read more

We went last night (6/16) for dinner. The place was packed. So make reservations. Waited at the bar while they got our table ready. Great service and very fast. There are two types of bloody Mary's. The Royal is not worth the extra 7 dollars. Ok let's go to the dinner now. Food was great. But don't get to excited about the oysters. They had a variety of selection but if you want a meaty gulf oyster they did not have them. The selection was from the east coast and they are so small you can't even tell it's on the shell. As for the rest of the foods they were very very good. The desserts were fantastic the peach cobbler is out of this world, my biggest disappointment was the oysters . Ask about the off the menu specials as well. One more thing if your pregnant or a larger person they have very few tables. Booths are the main seating. read more

food was great, decor was awesome. What disappointed me was the service. They served me a drink with an orange garnish on it. The orange clearly was starting to mold. I was kind and said I think there is maybe some mold on this I'm not sure. The server brings it back to the bartender and walks back to me and says "the bartender says it's not mold" and gave me back the drink without the orange and without any sort of apology. They then walk back a little while after and ask if I want the drink replaced. At that point, I just said no thank you. I shouldn't have to question if there is mold on something at a restaurant and if there is, they should have just replaced it without me asking. The wine list received an overhaul, added a bunch of French selections and nailed it. I couldn't have been happier with the new options and it's so nice to see choices that aren't crappa-nappa after crappa-nappa. On to the good stuff...Lobster and more lobster. The new lobster bisque looked amazing when it showed up. the micro greens set off a nice color contrast against the creamy and inviting soup. The crosshatching of the creme was a nice touch and what is that peeking out from below those micro greens...it's a medallion of shredded lobster goodness. The flavor was balanced and I'd stack this up with any of the best lobster bisque's I've had in Paris, Vancouver or Boston. Order a glass of wine, have an appetizer, sit back and watch what other folks order...give it a few minutes and you'll see a Mexican restaurant sized plate of lobster cruise by. Your first instinct will be 'wow...that looks good.' GO WITH THAT EMOTION and order the darn thing. It's perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented. The kitchen cuts it into perfect bite-sized pieces, presents it back in the shell and delivers it's buttery goodness to our table. If you don't like lobster...well...there are about 20 other choices, but lord it was amazing and worth the price of admission. Our server, Ashley, was attentive, convivial and if I didn't know better, I'd say her professionilsm was built in a Michelin-starred restaurant. read more

The quality, presentation, and value of the food/drinks is outstanding and the level of service is unparalleled. The ambience is lively and vibrant, making HH perfect for any occasion. On my most recent trip, I came in to catch up with an old friend. Katelyn (sp?), our server, was perfectly attentive without hovering or making us feel rushed in any way. Every special request/substitution was attended to with great detail, and care was taken by the GM to personally greet our table and check on the status of our modified menu items. Hudson House was awesome! We went around 3 PM on a Friday and was surprised to have as many tables as they had available. The hostess was wonderfully welcoming as well as the wait staff. They always had water my water filled (which is wonderful for a 6 month pregnant woman!) Prices were reasonable. I had a chopped Lox Caesar ($14) which was a lovely size and came with a bed of chopped romaine topped with a stripe of egg whites, stripe of egg yolks, stripe of capers, stripe of marinated tomatoes, stripe of garlic eye croutons and of course a stripe of smoked salmon. My friend ordered the Seared Tuna Sandwich ($16) which she said was awesome! Her tune steak was about an inch and half thick and perfectly seared! We didn't have a cocktail, but the list looked enticing and handmade craft style. Nice wine list by the looks of it as well. If I could eat the oysters I would have! They had 8 different East Coast varieties and all had a rather humorous description and drink pairing suggestion! In the heart of a rather pretentious town this was anything but! I've eaten here three or four times now and the service has always been good and the food exceptional! Highly recommend the oysters as an appetizer if you are a fan. They have a sample platter with two of each type to help you decide which is your favorite. They are all great so difficult to choose. I recommend all of their fish dishes. Each has been very tasty. It was our first time stopping in to Hudson house. It was ok but we found the dishes we ordered were over dressed. I had the French Chicken; the chicken was good but had areas that had too much seasoning which made it salty. The salad that it came with also had too much dressing. I have no complaints on the fries. My husband had the American Tuna Tower the salad portion was also over-sauced. I think if this place could find the right amount and not overdose the food the dishes would've been much better. I gave them 2 stars because we ordered 2 espresso martinis that labeled the ingredients on the menu- the ingredients labeled described a dark espresso martini- no mention of baileys init. We received this milky concoction which was not good at all. I sent mine back as I'm lactose intolerant and told the waitress it was not described correctly on the menu, she explained that it was a premix drink and basically oh well! You really should fix your menu or make the drink as written. Overall this place lacked flair so I doubt I would return. read more

This is a very interesting location, good food, great service, nice decoration, the only thing that didn't like me that it was too noisy, so if you want to have a peaceful dinner, this is not the place, long waiting even that I arrived after 8:15 (maybe because is new and was Saturday) but is worth it. As a lover of Hudson House in the past I hate to leave this review. I brought my parents from out of town because my dad still raves about the oysters. Our waitress couldn't have paid us less attention. We dined at 5:45 on a Sunday and she practically pushed us out the door. We had to beg for more cocktails and condiments that should have been brought in the first place. At the end of the meal she did not even offer dessert but slapped the bill on the table. I had the pleasure of dining at Hudson House with my wife, mother and son for his birthday. It was one of the best new places I have been. The weather was nice so we sat outside and were promptly greeted by Tonya, our server. Tonya was not only very pleasant, but very helpful in guiding us through the menu with wonderful explanations and recommendations. We began with some featured martini's, We also enjoyed cab cakes, popcorn chicken as starters. The sauces with the popcorn chicken were divine. Especially the wasabi vinaigrette. I enjoyed the Halibut which was very fresh and tasty also with wasabi vinaigrette. My mother and son split the Beverly Salad and my wife enjoyed the delicious Tuna Tartare which we all agreed was fantastic! My mom is not a big sushi eater but really liked it. The bread tips that came with it were a wonderful accompaniment. We all agree that the atmosphere was relaxing and semi formal making it a great place for couples or first dates. Prices are reasonable and the service was attentive but not invasive. Tonya is one of the best servers I have enjoyed in quite a while.
