I only give this place 4 stars because of the wait time for food. The food is amazing here, but the kitchen takes awhile. We waited about 40 minutes after ordering, but I was happy when the food arrived. I had the Pancake special... One Cherry Cornmeal Pancake, one egg and one slice of bacon. I added an extra side of bacon., and it was cooked to perfection. Hubby ordered an omelet with avocado, smoked salmon and all the other typical omelet fillings. YUM!!! The food here was excellent! We appreciate that they had a vegan option on the menu (the veggie sauté). And they were able to make me a vegan breakfast burrito, which was delicious ( they should add to the menu). My only advice would be for the veggie sauté dish they should include tofu AND rice to make it a more substantial dish, instead of making the customer choose between tofu and rice. read more

Be prepared to wait- for a long time. We waited for nearly an hour to get seated, and then it took another hour to get our food, even though we ordered right away. The waitress forgot to bring our coffee. And finally, when the food came, they brought me the wrong order. It had been so long, and I was so hungry that I didn't say anything. Simply put, this place is understaffed and disorganized. With that said, the food wasn't bad, and the staff was friendly. The views out the window were nice. We both had the clam chowder which was excellent! It's more of a wine based clam broth with leek and other herbal seasonings. Not a thick creamy chowder. I would definitely come back for the chowder. I am not aware of any other place that offers this version of clam chowder, perhaps a cafe in Paris or a bistro in the south of France. read more

This place was awful. Our waitress was rude and obviously hates her job. We placed our order right after the table next to us. They got served in about 10 minutes. Fast forward another 20 minutes and still no food. We were having a boat surveyed and had to get back so we asked how much longer as we had already been waiting 30 minutes. She checked and we were told it would be another 5 minutes. We said we couldn't wait any longer. As we walked out we noticed 3 tables that came in after us all who had already received their food. Everything was soooooo good. But... For some reason, they have an almost crab Benedict on the menu. The dish I had was an English muffin, topped with crab cake and a poached egg. Randomly stopped at this little spot as a pre bake session meal, wasn't going to think too much of it. However if I could go to this spot before my afternoon joint every single day I definitely would. Let me start by saying the catfish is magically delicious. The tables are all glass maps (doesn't sound that cool but it's a great touch). The waitresses and waiters have that small town vibe so everyone knows everyone and literally that wasn't a negative energy felt throughout that entire spot other than some punk ass baby (which I understand that happens and I won't hold the establishment responsible). Long story short the place is right by the beach, the portion sizes are large in size, the food itself had me salivating and they filled every request I had with the utmost urgency. Breakfasts here are very good. I had the Boat Yard hash for $12 which came with a generous serving of bacon throughout the hash. The breakfast plates come with 2 pieces of toast which makes it a better value. The prices are all around $12-13 per plate. Service is a bit on the slow side but they are pretty friendly and the food is tasty. Nice location for locals or tourists right on the marina. The coffee states only one refill on the menu for $2.50 which seems a little stingy but they did give 2 refills. It took a long time to get coffee and refills though. They serve Sunrise coffee which is a local roaster. The tea is Stash tea which is fine but nothing special. Hudson Point is a reliable breakfast spot to have in the rotation in Port Townsend. read more

Yum yum gimme some!!! Fellow yelpers advice was spot-on about this quaint little spot at the far end of PT. IMHO the menu had a great selection of items- from light items (granola, yogurt, etc) to sweets (pancakes, corn cakes, cinnamon raisin french toast) to sides (black beans my veggie friends!) to crazy combos for scrambles and eggs. I was delighted NOT to find just eggs, meat, & toast slipping around on a greasy plate. No friends, this place does it right- how does a omelette of leeks, wild local mushrooms, avocado, red bell pepper and swiss cheese sound? Oh and it comes with potatoes or black beans (real black beans cooked, not canned, with amazing SW flavor) and choice of toasts with fresh jam, plus a little amuse-buche type of fruit salsa to boot. So freakin' good. Oh btw, the servings are enormous-- couldn't finish 1/2 of my omelette-- and only managed a 1/4 c of a full cup of black beans. Hard to start this review without sounding silly, but this may be the best breakfast I've ever eaten in my life. We had the corn beef hash (a breakfast favorite of mine) and the crab cakes. Hash first: simply put, it was the best I've ever tasted. The corn beef was thin but flavorful, the potatoes were cooked perfectly, the basic hash veggies (bell pepper, onions) were there and the flavors in tact. Usually with breakfast I like a good dose of hot sauce but I added no hot sauce/ketchup/condiments other than a dash of pepper. The flavor was just too good. The crab cakes tasted what I imagine crab cakes should taste like. Fresh crab means good flavor and, most importantly, the dish was not over-salted. This is a rarity for crab cakes as they usually have some sort of bread crumb filling and lots of salt. But not these. These were soft and fell apart. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the spinach and english muffin complimented the crab without making it tasteless. A nice, but small, side of chutney something was tasty as well. Service was quick and friendly - no problems there at all. The place had some local art up on the walls and nice view of the marina. But really, it's about the food and whoever is cooking in this place deserves a medal. read more

One can hardly go wrong selecting a restaurant in Port Townsend. This means that all the places that want your attention have to continually step up their game. Hudson Point produces good hearty food, vegetarian or not -- appetizers, etc. are all very well done. This is a good place for family and friends. Just off the water, you'll feel like you've arrived at a place that wants you there and wants you back. The regulars are happy. The visiting people from out-of-town are pleasantly surprised. We came here for breakfast and it was the most amazing breakfast I've had in a long time! I ordered the crab cakes--it came with 2 poached eggs, on English muffins with spinach, potatoes and their delicious mango salsa. The crab was fresh, deliciously prepared and I can't get over how awesome the mango salsa was. I'm still thinking about it! My companion ordered the Greek omelet, which was packed with artichoke, olives and feta--he really enjoyed it. The wait staff were very nice and kept our coffee cups brimming with delicious coffee. It was cooked on too high heat, it was literally black on top I flipped it over and the underside was not black, it was dark brown For one, I couldn't believe they brought a pancake to me like this and tried to pass it off And for two, they put the black side on top. How Weird right? I asked for over easy egg and it was over cooked I ate like 1/2 the pancake and there was no amount of syrup or butter that could save it I wasn't even that mad. I was gonna chalk it up as a loss, but what made me mad was when I told the waitress, she told me it comes out that dark. I said I dont think so, I showed her the other side which was a dark brown I realize a sweet potato pancake is gonna be a different color than an original pancake. I can see how this is a local favorite! We got there right at 8 as they were opening and there was a small line out the door. I had biscuits and gravy and my boyfriend had pancakes and eggs. Our food arrived fast and the wait staff was on point! Our water glasses never got below half empty. My biscuits were fluffy and clearly home made. The gravy was fresh and flavorful. I didn't get a chance to get a bite of my boyfriend's food because he scarfed it down really fast, it was THAT good. The portions were large, but doable. Waited three days to come here, then waited a long time when we arrived! We were seated almost immediately but no one gave us any menus for about 15 minutes. The waitress came to take our order, but this was our first time here and we hadn't had a chance to check out the menu, so she brought a couple to us and left again. The waitress finally came over to apologize, saying that somehow a to-go order had sneaked ahead of ours. The fellow sitting behind us, seated about the same time, finished his meal, then came over to apologize. He's a regular customer here and said he'd never seen this happen before. (I've read the reviews, so I know it's happened before!) The food arrived after 1 hour and 5 minutes. My eggs, ordered well done, were perfect. Husband's eggs, ordered over easy, were perfect. We ordered the Boathouse Hash and the Corned Beef Hash to share and compare. The Boathouse Hash won, hands down. Having said that, both dishes were pretty greasy. My husband never mentions a dish being greasy, so if he mentioned this then you know it WAS greasy. Lots of potatoes in these, so they couldn't be too spendy to prepare. I'd say they were a bit overpriced. If the waitress had left it with the original apology, it would have been better. But she came back to say that the problem was that we waited too long to order. I reminded her that we weren't given menus for a long time, then she blamed that on the fact that they had no bus person to double check that today. I should have reminded her that she waited a long time to come back for our order, but I was there for breakfast, not a debate. The waitress was very sweet, but not too attentive. My husband's water glass was never refilled, though he set it at the edge of the table to show it was empty. I finally just gave him my water. The view was fabulous, though we had the same view from our sailboat. The breakfast we had on our boat on Monday was better tasting, much less expensive and took a lot less time. Salmon over linguini: Again, delicious broth and wonderful sweet tender salmon. Fabulous little spot out at the point in the picturesque harbor in Port Townsend - don't miss it. My husband at went at about 8:15 on a Sunday morning and got the last window seat. Restaurant was full by 8:30. Not particularly fast service when all the tables fill up at once - but what would you expect? This is a spot to linger over breakfast - friendly service and over the top delicious and abundant food. I had the crab cakes topped with poached eggs - Sublime! Yes! Great place! When we walked over to the Fountain Cafe and found it not open for breakfast, my husband I decided to ask three locals out and about on the street for advice. Two of the three directed us here -- a short and pleasant walk to the Marina from Downtown. And, once-again, our little version of "crowd-sourcing" put us right where we wanted to be -at a truly special and worthy local restaurant. Hudson Point can be a bit crowded at times. The RV community has put the word out on its network, I think, and the views are splendid. Some days the wait staff is truly challenged. But the place is surprisingly large, and if you aren't catching a train, the wait is well worth it. The menu is impressively creative; the portions are large enough to share; the prices are surprisingly reasonable; the ingredients are fresh and local; the service is warm and friendly; and the food is simply superb. If you can't be happy here, you can't be happy. At our first visit (yes, we went back -- twice in four days!) my husband had the Oyster Scramble. I had the Crab Cakes Benedict. We shared and we both thought everything was flawless. Port T and the nearby surrounding area are full of superb restaurants. I think it is the abundance of fresh ingredients that makes this area so food conscious. Hudson Point Cafe is one of the best and a real classic of its type. Update: Try the cajun catfish with your morning eggs and breakfast potatoes. I have been to N'awlins any number of times, but I have not eaten better than this! read more

We tried this place from yelp reviews. It turned out to be pretty good. No fried foods here, folks, which was ok with me. The menu was diverse enough. I had the crab cakes which were stuffed with crab and a super homemade tartar sauce, a toned down cabbage salad, and yummy potatoes. Hubs had a yellow-colored broth based clam chowder with clams in the shell, that even the 8 year old liked. I read some of the reviews on the servers not refilling drinks, which we didn't need, but had we, I'd have been irritated because we were never offered a refill. We also went towards the end of their day, so we received prompt service and got our food timely. I would recommend the place. read more

We went in for breakfast today at 10, with 10 people on the list before us. We got a table at 11:15, ordered and the food came pretty quickly. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I ordered the white cheddar and ham omelet and hash. The omelet was really soft and more scrambled eggs than omelet. The cracked pepper inside was really big so I wasn't a fan of the surprise pepper corns. The hash was pretty dry and didn't have much flavor. Nice location at the port- great views. read more
