We love the food here and the service has always been good to excellent. We were disappointed however on our visit this evening. We always sit in the bar area and there were only 2 people there when we arrived. We were told that there would be a 25 minute wait to be seated. I pointed out that the bar area was wide open and that's where we always sit anyway. We were told it would still be 25 minutes because they didn't have enough servers. It was 6:15 on a Saturday evening.....come on....really? We left because we didn't want to stare at all of that open seating while we were waiting to be seated. read more

I really enjoy this eatery. I have been coming here for many years and about every 3 weeks go for lunch to get the same menu item. It is very large and keeps well. (it becomes lunch for the next 3 days) But the last few times I have gone, dine in or drive thru, the quality seems to be getting worse. My usual is the warm chicken potpourri pasta salad. The last time I ordered it, the chunks of chicken were incredibly dry and overcooked, dry as if it had sat out under a heat lamp for 8 hours. SO Disappointed. The time before that I didn't get many vegetables, Even after requesting extra as I always do. I never complain and don't have the time to write a review but I feel like they are losing their appeal for fresh quality food. read more

South Ogden location: We have been speculating about the pronunciation of the name Hug-Hes, so had to come in and find out, especially after reading the reviews. We came for a late lunch today and sat out on the nice patio. It got a little warm, but we enjoyed being outside; it was quieter and the flowers make it a pleasant place to relax. We shared the Cafe Burger and were really glad we shared! It was huge, was cooked to perfection (no pink), and delicious. The salad was cool and fresh, the ranch dressing well made, and the fries tasty, albeit a little cool. Our waiter, Keith, was very attentive, refilled my water glass (Thank you!), and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. The prices seemed a little high to me, but not when you consider the amount and quality. A nice place to go for a slightly more elegant meal. read more

I came in for lunch with my friend today. It was around 1:30 P.M. so it wasn't very busy at the time. We waited about five minutes to be seated, which isn't a big deal, but there were several employees that made eye contact with us but didn't bother to help us, until our waiter who was having a conversation with someone behind the bar and the same guy who noticed us walk in right away came over to seat us. We were given drinks right away, which was great. However, our waiter only came to the table to check on us when he was dropping off drinks, our food and then the check. He never checked on us unless he was dropping something off. Again, this wouldn't be a big deal if it were busy, but it was far from busy, we should have gotten better service. When it came time to pay for the bill, we friends meal was overcharged. She requested no bacon, but they charged for extra bacon. Not a big deal, but at this point we were annoyed. Our waiter asked if we wanted dessert and from my understanding and past experiences the meals came with sugar cookies, so we asked for those. He brings us two big sugar cookies, which aren't the one's that usually come with the meal, and charged us for them. At this point, I was over the experience and just wanted to leave. I'm usually pretty understanding when it comes to serving, because I myself used to be a server, and it's not an easy job. This was a frustrating experience for me, especially in the past this place has always been really good about service and being on top of things, and their food is so delicious. read more

I was disappointed with Hug-Hes tonight. We were seated immediately which was great. But no one came to our table to bring us water or get a drink order after ten minutes of being seated. Yes. It was busy. But, it will be less busy in the future if guests are ignored. read more

I don't know why they don't do more advertising because their food is damn good (albeit lightly expensive). Their bread, strawberry butter, & cookies are to die for, and they have great portion sizes, even for the hungriest eaters. Nice, quiet place, great staff, plus a decent variety of on-tap beer (for Utah). read more

I was severely disappointed today. I ordered the blue cheese burger. I've had it before and remember it being so delicious. However, it seems they've exchanged their beef with fake beef patties that taste like they've been in the freezer for months. I asked for bacon and avocado. They barely gave me 3 little thin slices of avocado and about 1.5 strips of bacon. I asked for it lettuce wrapped and all they did was added 3 soggy pieces of lettuce on top. I will not be ordering any of their hamburgers ever again. read more

I work at a credit union, and on Saturdays, no one can leave until the end of the day, so if we want food it has to be delivered. We have ordered from Hug-Hes before and had it delivered, and sometimes it's spot on, but we have had issues where the order was messed up, things were missing, and had some bad experiences. Even with these bad experiences, places that deliver are very minimum in this area, so we still on the occasion will call and order for our lunch. Today, I called, told them it was for delivery, got through my entire order for me and my co-workers, got my total, and then the worker there told me to hold on. I was on hold for 5 minutes, and then another worker got on the phone and told me that she needed to verify with her delivery girl if she would deliver to us. She put me on hold for 3 more minutes, and then came back and said that they were no longer delivering today, and that my order would have to be for pick up. I got very angry. They employee there then told me that they no longer deliver on Saturdays. I was looking at their site as she's telling me this, and told her that the sight says that they deliver until 4 and does not specify any days that they don't deliver besides Sundays because they're closed. She continued to argue with me saying it didn't say that. I took a screen shot of my computer screen and will figure out how to post that as well. With the bad experiences in the past, and then this terrible experience today, we will NOT be ordering from there anymore. read more
