We got the viet crack and the cream kissed americano, I definitely recommend those, I will be coming back more often. My partner and I try to change things up from Starbucks on the weekends. Fortunately, there seems to be little shortage of cool little coffee places around Orange County. Not all of them are good, though. Since we were going to do something on the border of Costa Mesa/Newport today, I found Humanity Coffee with good reviews despite only being open a short while, so decided to check it out. Note that all coffee and espresso is organic. We ordered: Viet Crack coffee, Humanity Coffee with Sea Salt foam, and The Works from the Brekky English Muffin category. Because we tend to like our coffee on the sweeter side, the owner was accommodating in sweetening up the drinks, but what was notable is that they weren't overly sweet. The Viet Crack was yummy with a good balance between the coffee and the condensed milk. The Humanity was ah-mazing with a gorgeous, long-lasting foam topper. (I switched out the house made hazelnut syrup for vanilla syrup because I've had my fill of hazelnut from when it was super popular and it makes me cringe to think of drinking still to this day. But I really feel I should try it as is next time.) Though the coffee was so good, the star of the morning was The Works English muffin. Oh. My. God. I am seriously thinking I should have ordered a second one to go because I will be thinking of this one for a very long time! Egg frittata, provolone cheese, pesto, arugula, and avocado combined into a flavor orgasm. I mean, just look at the pictures! I am picky about pesto but theirs was just right. We also picked up the blueberry coffee cake and banana bread because I heard they are made in-house. The banana bread was deliciously moist and flavorful with chunks of banana and a nicely caramelized exterior. The blueberry coffee cake is also very moist with a lightly sweet cake accented by plump blueberries. As to the interior, the shop has a clean, minimalist aesthetic with three tables. I like that there's not a ton of seating crammed into this small space, but this could limit how many people you can ask to join you for a coffee klatch. On the upside, it is near the beach, so provides a perfect pickup spot to take and go for a walk along the beach. read more

do NOT get the matcha! i'm already wary of coffee shops with matcha having been burned many times before but i had faith in this one because of their focus on asian flavors in their coffee. i haven't tried the coffee so i can't speak to it but the matcha was 6.25 and another 1 dollar for almond milk. Matcha should be a deep green color. I knew from the moment I got it that it would be bad. But it was worse. There was no matcha flavor. I paid 7.25 plus tip for a cup of almond milk. Really disappointing and I'm bummed I wasted so much money. Egg and cheese sandwich was good and service was friendly which gives this place an extra star. read more

In an area saturated with coffee shops, Humanity Coffee is a breath of fresh, friendly air. They have drinks here that I don't see at nearby places. They have ube latte!! Homemade syrups too, so the ube tastes like ube and their espresso is stroooong. Not sure if it's because their beans are organic, or because it's freshly roasted, but my heart was beating hard for hours. We also got their matcha latte, which had great flavor. I didn't get to try their Vietnamese coffee so I'll have to get that next time I'm in the area. I've had many exceptional croissants (I live in NYC so there are bakeries everywhere) and was quite impressed with their Everything Cream Cheese croissant. I don't think they make it in-house but they heated it up for me and it was crispy, flaky, buttery and delicious. Lastly, they have friendly service. Not used to that in NYC so I'm not used to chit chatting. They're new-ish so I hope they do well and to see them when I'm back in town! Also, nice vase wall. read more

i love love loooove the avocado toast here. it's one of the things i look forward to when i can treat myself (: it's full of flavor and it's well balanced, with the crunchiness and the soft, smooth textures. the people here are so nice and kind. they really brighten up my day when i visit. it's a very nice chill, cozy place near newport beach. it's got some indoor seating and amazing vibes. oh and i can't help but keep getting the ube latte here! the flavor is super deep and rich. i get mine with oat milk and sometimes i get it without coffee if i'm feeling more like a hot chocolate sort of way, but with ube hahaha read more

This place had great coffee. It's super close to the beach and has yummy food and the coffee is delish!! I had a lavender latte and my husband had the vanilla latte hot. The service was awful we got a mess up on a drink and the blonde one threw the drink in the sink and remade it with an attitude. So rude. The coffees all sucked the chai tasted like water, and the shots were definitely burnt. Also the food is so expensive. Would not recommend, we ended up going to Starbucks after throwing those awful drinks away! Place is aesthetic though so 1 star for that read more

I love how this place uses locally roasted beans and it's organic. We tried out the Viet Crack aka Vietnamese Coffee, and loved how it wasn't too sweet like other places. We also tried the Humanity Iced Coffee with Sea Salt Foam. It was nice and light. I saw that they had seasonal drinks that get changed out and am really curious about their Pandan Latte. As for food, we grabbed a ECS, egg cheddar and sausage egg muffin sandwich and took it down the street to the beach to enjoy. Will definitely come back. read more
