    Short rib pasta
    Devin K.

I'm actually pretty disappointed. I've been here a few times once for dine-in and a few times for take-out. The first time I got the short rib pasta it was to die for- creamy, tender, flavorful and everything was well balanced. The last few times the pasta was just eh, this most recent time the short rib wasn't even broken apart and it felt like the dish was just thrown together. Not sure if management or chefs have changed but it's not the same as it was a few years ago. Humble fries are really good topped with parmesan and chili flakes but aren't spicy. They come with some fun sauces too. Like a sweet sauce, ranch, and an aïoli. These have been consistently good every time! Location is really nice since it's in the Desert Ridge area and it's a nicer casual restaurant. Inside is smaller but there is a small seating area outside that either has fans in the summer or heater in the winter. Great place for a date night or a night out with the gals!

Humble Bistro was one of my go-to places on the high street. Listen, the food is still pretty good, but with the summer heat on the rise and the server comes by with a glass of DISGUSTING WATER with the SMELL TO MATCH!!! Of course, they want you to purchase a $5.00 bottle of Saratoga water. Please, for the love of everything, get a FILTRATION system in that place. The way that water smells, I'm sure it's not good for you to drink. Just get the FILTRATION SYSTEM!

Really enjoyed a number of factors about this place. Our server was incredible. We had some characters in our group and she kept them laughing and in check. Food and drinks were top notch with one of the best salads I've had. Only ding for me was a dirty table when they sat us down and the cushions were absolutely filthy.

All the food we ordered was delicious! We polished every plate. Only thing not pictured is the crispy Brussels sprouts which we demolished in seconds. Service was great and they took good care of us. The ambiance was nice and quaint. A little loud but not bad at all. Recommend. (My friends have gone 4 more times since I took them)

I'm not going to be humble with this one: Humble Bistro is an excellent restaurant. I've visited twice: once was my second meal upon moving to Phoenix and the other was most recently on a Thursday evening for dinner. Located on High Street in Desert Ridge, you'll be able to find free parking in the various lots surrounding this district or the garage. Since I'm within walking distance, I've been on foot both times I've visited. Ambiance (4.5/5): Humble Bistro is a good looking restaurant. It achieves a nice balance of being trendy and nice while still feeling homey and comfortable. I sat at a half booth upon my most recent visit. There's also a small patio. It's a relatively small restaurant and was packed almost to the brim on a Thursday evening. It can get a little loud, but not overly burdensome. And the lights are dimmed down a bit which creates a nice ambiance. Service (4.5/5): Our waitress did a fantastic job taking care of us. She was friendly (a smile goes a long way), attentive, and efficient. Which is all you hope for, especially when a restaurant is busy while you're dining there. I was trying to decide between three options, and she gave me her recommendation. And she was on target with it. Drinks (N/A): I had an Arnold Palmer, so not much to write home about. With that being said, they have a full bar, including a wine list and cocktails. Food (4.5/5): I had the chicken parm which is served with linguine. This is a classic Italian dish that I've had countless times over the years. And this was the best one I've ever had. The chicken cutlet was fried just right. The breading, tomato sauce, and mozzarella sauce were perfect. It's a relatively simple dish, but Humble Bistro somehow does things better than anywhere I've tried. And it was a filling portion too. While the menu is Italian-centric, there are new American options too. It's an interesting menu with a lot of appetizing choices. For the quality of the food you're getting, Humble Bistro is moderately priced. Which makes it a big winner in my book. There are a lot of good dining options on High Street, Humble Bistro might just be my favorite.

My friend and I had a quick lunch at the bar. We each ordered a Yes Way Rose, spilt the Caprese and the This Lil Figgy Flatbread. We forgot how good the Caprese was. It was a hot day so the cold tomatoes, pesto, and mozzarella were perfect. They only serve the Caprese with one piece of Forno bread so we had to ask for more. It's so good to dip into the pesto olive oil marinade the tomatoes come in. Another great lunch at Humble!

Grabbed a quick bite in between sips of wine during the Wilcox Wine Festival. Enjoyed some green chili chicken enchiladas and they hit the spot. I couldn't tell you how many I got since they were buried in lettuce. But they were tasty! The bar service was great and my food was out fairly quick.

From the variety of seating options to the chandeliers to the copper ceiling, I really enjoyed the aesthetic of Humble Bistro. It gave me vibes of NYC, but I was told it was designed as a French Bistro. Whichever it was, it works! We were greeted as soon as we entered, and seated immediately as it wasn't too busy. (We usually eat early when we go out to avoid the crowds.) Our server, Alexis, was awesome! She was witty and charming, and chatted easily with every table. She's exactly the type of server every restaurant should have. We ordered the Forno Bread, Humble's answer to garlic bread - house made sourdough with garlic, cheese and olive oil, plus a kick of heat with calabrian flakes. Great flavor and plenty to share. The menu had so many delicious looking options. I decided on the Pasta Rosa and Meatballs - pappardelle pasta with 3 meatballs, whipped ricotta and fresh basil. Now I can be a bit picky about meatballs, but these were excellent. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the only thing I might have liked was a little more ricotta. (I'm a big fan of ricotta.) The portion size was perfect. So often it's a huge bowl of pasta and 2 measly meatballs, but this was an even ratio of pasta to meatballs and yet I still had enough to take home for tomorrow's lunch. Hubby had the Forno Short Rib, which is a 12hr braised short rib over Humble Fries. He loved it! The short rib was fork tender, and practically melted in my mouth (yes, I tried a little), and the fries are well cooked and full of flavor. Combined with the short rib - a flavor explosion! We also split a creme brulee for dessert. Delicious and a nice size for one, but as we were bordering on full from our meal, it was a perfect sharing size for us. We know we'll be back!

Humble bistro is located on High St in Desert Ridge which is a really cool street with restaurants, bars, and shops. This is such a great location to grab dinner and drinks with some of friends which is what brought us here! The server was very friendly and helped walk us through the menu and explained each dish to us. Ultimately, we knew we wanted to try the pastas which sounded amazing to us. The Cremini Sacchetti was our favorite! I loved the truffle taste in the brown butter sauce, the truffles weren't overpowering and complimented the pasta perfectly. We also loved the Short Rib which was braised for 12 hours and falling apart. I would love to go back and try the bruschetta dishes that they are known for!

My second time here and it looks like they have a new addition to Humble Bistro which is called Humble Oysters and Bubble. Me and my coworker shared the appetizer meatballs , humble brussels, and gentlemen pizza. All were good except for the humble brussels, it tasted burnt so it had a bitter taste to it. But the meatballs were perfect seasoned and the pizza was full of different flavor profile from savory to sweet to a little spiciness to it.

Girls night and this place was very nice. They have a cozy indoor/outdoor area and the music is pretty loud so I would suggest sitting outside if you don't like loud music. The service was good and they answered all of our questions and made some good suggestions, like the humble Caesar. My only complaint is that I wished the wings were crispier. The skin was a little too soft for my liking. Would like to come back here for date night and trying their pasta and pies!

My two favorite dishes that never miss are the Lasagna and the Chicken Parm. Like clockwork, it has always been impeccable. Sadly my most recent experience will likely be my last experience. I ordered the Chicken Parm and when it came out there was something missing from my plate. Instead of the usual Rigatoni Pasta with Vodka Sauce there were a couple of stale chunks of potatoes and some sorry looking asparagus spears. I asked the bartender where is the pasta. She responded that it no longer comes with pasta and that I could order some at an additional charge. It was at that moment that I knew I would never return again. Never in my entire life have I ever ordered Chicken Parm at an Italian Restaurant and not have it come with pasta. That is like ordering a hamburger and it doesn't come with a bun. Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.

We each had a wine spritzer... may I say that the very few such concoctions I've had bearing that name didn't do justice to what we were served. I've never had anything like this, a "Sgroppino" (I'm partial to strawberry!) and it was perhaps the best adult beverage I've had in a very long time. Many different nuances in a glass. Stunning subtle, many diverse flavors. Mmm. Our bartender was an artist of the mixed adult beverage, a delightful individual with a warm, genuine smile and an encyclopedic knowledge of how to do his job expertly. There is a variety of seating available, including outside and at the bar--bar has an inside section as well as outside which is a nice design for the lovely weather days. However, it's unfortunate that the outdoor seating is on such a busy traffic corner, so it's not the little retreat it would otherwise be. The lunchtime music was more like happy hour music, not conducive to conversation--maybe for the cellphones-at-the -table crowd it's okay, but being near the Phoenix Art Museum and Arizona Opera, why not add to the cultural experience of the area by celebrating its Italian origins with some Italian music? Even if just added as interludes during every few pieces, it would enhance the ambiance. We had to raise our voices to carry on our conversation, but it was manageable. However, when I came back the next week with a friend with a hearing impairment, it became more problematic. She tried adjusting her hearing aids, but the thumping rhythm kept taking precedence as we tried to find a quieter corner, but it wasn't possible as it is a small space and speakers were close to each table. I felt so bad that she couldn't enjoy a meal there--we both were so looking forward to having a fresh pasta dish, but just couldn't stay. Upon leaving, I felt I should let management know why so I waited to speak to him, offering constructive criticism about the sound level but he was not the least apologetic nor said he would take it under advisement, but was completely dismissive and harrumphy as though we were annoying problems and not potential regulars with suggestions worthy of consideration. How hard would it be to have a quieter area or make a speaker accessible with volume control? People, whether on the spectrum, with hearing impairments, or just lovers of good conversation deserve respect and when it is not given, will go elsewhere....
