    Chicken Lo Mein Container
    Lindsay K.

I lived right by this place for a year before finally trying it out. No complaints. The ordering process was easy, the menu pretty extensive, and the food was pretty good! It seems like your average Chinese takeout place, but I was very content with the chicken lo mein I ordered. I had every intention of eating half and saving the rest for later... but then I ate the whole carton. Sometimes the chicken in a lot of Asian noodle dishes can be dry and bland... but Hunan Odenton's chicken was GREAT! A lovely spot for your lo mein fix, I would definitely order again.

I'll keep it quick and simple. Ordered chicken fried rice, the house fried rice and a hot and sour soup. Both fried rice orders were outright disgusting. EXTREMELY oily, weirdly unflavored, unseasoned and the meat (The chicken and beef) looked strange. The hot and sour soup was just watery with no flavor. I would avoid this place. Not worth wasting your money here.

When you walk in your welcomed by the smell of roach spray choking you! The service was...... I was told I couldn't use the bathroom the dining room is closed. And the food was a step above dog food!!! I was impressed by the fact they are still in business but honestly there is no good Chinese food in the aa county!

I ordered from Hunan Odenton for the first and last time today. I ordered from DoorDash and after opening the closed and staples food bag, I found a tiny cockroach on the outside of the wonton bag. I immediately threw everything in the trash. DoorDash refunded my money and I placed an order with another restaurant. This is so nasty and disappointing. If there are roaches on the bags, you cannot trust what's in the food.

Don't even waste your money purchasing food from here. We ordered General Tso's chicken, vegetable delight, and beef lo mein and none of these items tasted good. For one, the sauce in the chicken wasn't even spicy at all, it was probably thickened soy sauce with sugar and the chicken was so saturated in breading that it was literally 90%breading and 10% chicken. The vegetables seemed fresh but the sauce was the same as what we got with the chicken. The lo mein was nasty, plain noodles and beef strips, no flavor what so ever. We ate two bites of each dish and everything else went in the trash.. so disappointing.

Okay so I wanna say I did not ever I think I would be a person to write a review like this but I'm legit upset. When you order food you expect your food to be made with basic decency and professionalism. Like I work in the fast food industry and I take so being responsible for others food SO SERIOUSLY and I enforce proper food safety with all my employees. That being said, where I live it's hard to find a good Chinese restaurant in this area. Today I ordered food through a third party app, I got wings in buffalo sauce. YALL WHY WAS THERE A BUG IN THE FOOD ME AND MY FAMILY WAS EATING ( pictured below) IM SO UPSET LIKE AS DRAMATIC AS IT SOUNDS I FEEL BETRAYED, like we all seen the videos and the baseless claims of what happens at Chinese restaurants and I can not believe it happened to me. Getting a order wrong is one thing BUT A BUG ! No do better like I legit threw up thinking omg how many did I eat and it was UNDER A WING!!! I don't ever wanna take food outta no one mouth or stop no one from getting a bag but this is absolutely disgusting idc if it was small it got NO BUSINESS BEING IN THE FOOD I PAID FOR, I KNOW FIRST HAND THE INFLATION GOT PRICES GOIN UP AND I DIDN'T PAY FOR WINGS PLUS BUG

Unarguably the best Chinese in Odenton! Inexpensive, great food, awesome customer service, fast no-charge delivery (told 45+ min delivery, received in under 30) Sweet and Sour Chicken is pretty good, the chicken is like most other places but the sauce is what makes it better than others. The fried rice wasn't that great, but my roommate said it was exactly how she likes hers cooked. Just depends on how you like your fried rice. Ordered the lemon chicken on a whim and I'm glad I did. Holy. Crap. The chicken is amazing. Was not expecting for it to taste that great. Definitely was not expecting the lemon sauce to make it twice as delicious. A whole tub of this sauce (consistency like sweet and sour) is enough for the chicken, broccoli, rice, and to store in fridge for other food to be dipped in. Please try this dish out for the lemon sauce - you won't regret it! Egg Drop Soup - Best I've had. Roommate agreed. The cat agreed. You'll agree. Order of two egg rolls and received an extra one #thankyou #ily

We had our dad's birthday celebration here, we usually do since it's one of favorite Chinese…read morerestaurants. We had ordered a good amount of food, beef brisket, deep fried pork intestines, roasted duck, sauteed Chinese broccoli, calamari, and deep fried porkchops. We also had salted fish fried rice. Everything that we ordered was so good. We enjoyed how well received we were today by the servers. The place is huge and plenty of eating spaces.

We had the freshest and most delicious shumai, shrimp crab claw, beef chow fun noodles, and Vietnamese spring rolls I have EVER had (including 7 corners and Ellicott City)...and the grossest bathroom and general eating area cleanliness I have ever experienced in an Asian restaurant EVER. I don't get how they get a 100% health score, when the window screen behind my sister's chair had a dead roach, the air intake above us was moldy and filthy, the women's bathroom sanitary sanitation products container was filthy and didn't look like it had been cleaned in about two years, and the floors were disgusting. I am not sure if the ice in my iced tea was dirty, but I can guess it might be, based on what I saw. So, question...do I go back and just get carry-out risking food poisoning??

Tried this place and wasn't sure about the reviews since they ranged from a few months ago to many years ago. Took a chance and sadly it was a miss. The food was not disgusting but it also wasn't memorable by any means. Everything was bland and in desperate need of seasoning. The fried rice looked strange. The general tso wasn't crispy and the sauce was bland. We ate the meal out of hunger but not satisfaction. And it will be the last time I ever go back sadly. I wanted this to be good but spent the whole time convincing myself it was good than actually enjoying it.

It's been just over a year, and it's been rough finding something in the area that can even come close. It's gotten to the point that I wasn't even about to try Hunan Express, because of how terrible the other places in the area have been. However, I'm glad I did. The food here is not perfect, but it's decent. They have huge portions, and the food actually has flavor. Last night we ordered the General Tso's chicken, 5 pc wing combo, and sweer & Sour chicken. We also ordered fried wontons, and the meals came with egg rolls and soup. The General Tso's chicken came in a container filled to the brim with pork fried rice. The chicken could've been crispier, and less saucy, but it was decent. I feel like if I specified how I wanted it, they could easily adjust it for me as other have in the past. I just don't like my chicken swimming in the sauce. The sweet & sour chicken was spot on, and actually tasted similar to the carryouts around where I grew up at. A little soy sauce on the chicken and the salty from the soy sauce goes well with the sweet and sour combination of the sauce. The wontons were meh! Hard over fried and not that good, but the hot and sour soup was on the money. The egg rolls were decent, but a little greasy. I wish they were crispier, but outside of having to remove some of the grease they were pretty good. The wings were also solid, my only hold up is that they break the wings down into flats and drumsticks and count them each. So a 5 pc wing is only 2.5 wings (3 flats and 2 drumsticks or vice versa), and the fries were soggy. I feel like even though the food isn't perfect, it's still solid. It's not just completely bland or bad. I'm okay with adding soy sauce to something I feel needs a boost, but I am against food that is just not prepared well, and I think that's where Hunan Express edges the other guys out. On top of that the store is clean, and that's something I feel you have to pay attention to these days. The thing is I'm not looking for authentic Chinese cuisine, I'm looking for good Chinese carryout food. I'm looking for something quick and reliable, on a night when I'd rather hang with the kids and be lazy. I can't say that this is going to be our new weekly replacement, but atleast between here, and 2 other spots that require some driving, we can get by...overall I'd give the food a 6.5 - MAYBE 7 out of 10
