    Bibimbap

A casual Korean-American fusion brunch spot, this was the perfect spot to catch up with my friends in Toluca Lake. The portion is decent and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. The space itself offers a fun mix of high top table, window, and single table seating. I ordered the bibimbap and Korean fried rice. Both were excellent and made with such care. The bibimbap was served in a hot stone bowl and I loved the crunchy rice at the bottom. Highly recommend for a morning out!

Came back to Hungry Crowd to try more dishes. This time it was their Bibimbap. It was great! Loved how the rice got crispy at the bottom of the hot stone pot. The protein of choice was spicy pork. The fresh veggies + rice + spicy pork made for a lovely lunch experience. The ambiance was energetic and fun. The reason this wasn't a five star review is that my friend ordered the chicken sando and he wasnt a fan.

Was in town visiting our son, daughter-in-law, and our new granddaughter and they took us out for dinner to celebrate the new grandpa's birthday. My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. But with 5 adults and a baby carriage, we had to wait for the right table because the somewhat small restaurant was full. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.

For a small local spot, it has quite a fun and inventive menu of Asian-American fusion. The fried chicken plate was nicely fried and had a good slaw. The Mac n cheese was creamy with a nice breadcrumb topping- it had a little funk from what seemed like Brie cheese rind (but maybe it was the cauliflower?). The katsu burger was nicely fried on the outside but came out overcooked on the inside. Overall, the restaurant is clean and has good seating both indoor and outdoor but the ambiance is lacking overall; surprisingly bland compared to the abundance of flavors on the menu. Looks like they have an extensive brunch menu as well. Service was nice.

Staff are very accommodating. Kind to our keiki. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It is kind of hard to find street parking though. Food is worth it. We got the dirty fries, fried dumplings, chicken wings, and the bibimbap.

This is a spot I would like to revisit. Overall a really nice experience. Food: -Galbi Burger ($17): 5/5; easily one of the best burgers I've had. I wasn't expecting it to taste this good. The buns were soft, and the patty was big, juicy, and packed with sweet-and-savory flavor. - 3 Cajun Jumbo Shrimp Tacos ($15.5): 4/5; each taco comes with two shrimps. The shrimp is fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. That said, there's loads of shredded lettuce and tomato bits and doesn't add much to the overall flavor. - White Kimchi Clam Pasta ($24): 2/5 I was disappointed. Portion was small, and the soup was bland. Only the clam and kimchi had flavor.

The service, and food were great! I will definitely be back. If you are looking for a quiet place this is it. Love it

Another meal was had. Obviously it's also a simple yes whenever brunch arises. It's our go to for an easy decision and to top it off, the food and mimosas makes it even better. It's basically coming to see friends who have become somewhat of family. Michael, Justin and Ann all have hearts of gold. Seeing their faces whenever we come alway makes the experience better. They've taken care of us for years now and each time it's alway amazing. The friendly smile, the welcoming, catching up and just the usual chit chat. That makes a places worth coming too as it's more relax when the staff knows their patrons. And it looks that way with a lot of customers. You know it's a good place when it's all the regulars. Anyways, the food is alway amazing. Every meal has alway been a hit for us. I have my regular which there's no point in looking at the menu as they already know...lol... But besides the food which they have loads of amazing dishes, the mimosas. Also the kimchi biscuits is a must with the honey butter. The favorite of course, the honey fried chicken meal with Cole slaws. Nice juicy meal and the crunch level is great. Drizzle with honey, the extra touch. Each order has alway been amazing. We also had the smoked salmon avocado toast with a side salad. That's another regular dish that's alway been a hit. But the main reason, the mimosas. Not in your regular champagne flutes but in pint glass. Let's just say we normally could do 2 and that's enough. For the price, it's well worth it. Food has alway been great. The restaurant itself is cute. Not overly big but decent. Nice patio seating along the sidewalk and two tables on the main patio. Inside, there's a communal hi top table right in the middle with a good amount of tables on both side. Michael, Justin and Ann are the sweetest. They're basically family now and will take of everyone. Hence we alway come back for more.

We crave this place during our visits to LA! We've gone to this restaurant two times now and both times were an absolute hit. Location is on a Broadway with several store fronts including Hungry Crowd, on the street. Parking can be a little tough since it's street parking. We had to go and park in a close neighborhood which looked really nice and had some cool Christmas lights up. The restaurants itself is fairly small (and the bathroom even smaller, practically kissing the wall with my knees) but the service is always fantastic. We came around 5pm when they opened in the evening and there was no wait and we got seated promptly. The place filled up rather quickly but it didn't slow down how fast our service was since the owners and other employees took our order and proceeded to check up on us as we ate our food. I usually like to get their breakfast menu, (such as their Kimichi Biscuits or their Breakfast Burrito) but since we arrived later in the day we ordered the Mac and Cheese, Galbi Burger, Risotto, and the Truffle Honey Fried Chicken. All were excellent and tasted great. During our first visit we had a really good interaction with the owners but didn't really speak to them too much this time around since they seemed to be busy and were probably winding down for the Christmas break. We will most definitely be back again when we travel to LA in the future!

Came here with a bunch of friends for dinner. We decided to order one dish each or so and share everything. All of the food was really good. Nothing really stood out because all of the food all stood out. Flavors were phenomenal. Service was fantastic. Place was clean with ample seating. I would love if they opened up a location in Northern California.

This is a nice Korean fusion restaurant right in Toluca Lake. There wasn't really a crowd during lunch time on a Tuesday but parking can be a bit tough to find. Service was great. Our server was friendly and regularly checked in with us. As for the food, there were so many items I wanted to try off their menu but I ended up ordering their Korean Bulgogi Taco and Bibibamp with hot stone this time. Both were solid 5/5s. I'll definitely be coming back here to try the other items in their menu that caught my eye like the japchae and loco moco. Note: On Tuesdays, they have a special on their tacos. You can get singular tacos at a discount #TacoTuesday. They also have happy hour Tue-Thu from 5-6:30pm.

What a nice, delicious discovery! While there's a lot of choices on on Riverside Dr in Studio City, Hungry Crowd is one of the more interesting, unique restaurants there. A blend of mostly Korean and American cuisine, you get the classic dishes like Bibimbap, as well as fusion twists like Kimchi Biscuit and Eggs Benedict with Bulgogi. Sadly, I forgot to take a photo of the Kimchi Biscuit, but I have to say that this shareable appetizer is a must have and my favorite fish that we had! It's a surprisingly complex blend of that Kimchi pickled tartness and sweetness from the cinnamon butter, along with some savoriness from the bacon and cheddar. It almost sounds like it shouldn't work, but it's nonetheless delicious! The Eggs Benedict is also a very nice blend of Eastern and Western flavors that work together rather than compete with each other. The Garlic Edamame with Garlic soy is pretty solid but not as big of a wow factor as the other dishes. Lastly, the Bibimbap is pretty good, but I think it's the least memorable. I want to say that I have had better versions of the dish at a more traditional Korean restaurant, so if anything, I'd explore the more fusion side of the menu here at Hungry Crowd next time.

First time here. I would come back. My bro and I had the bulgogi dirty rice to start. That was delicious. Then we had fried pork ribs, kimchi fried rice, and the burger. We ask for some chilies on the side to add a kick. The food was delicious and the service was great!

Food was really good especially the Cajun shrimp tacos. Very fresh, plump and well seasoned. A lot of really interesting dishes. The chicken sandwich was good but the shrimp tacos are my favorite so far.

Going in to Forman's Whiskey Tavern, I had 5 choices from the menu that looked amazing to me: 1. TAVERN SALAD with manchego, apple, candied pecans, and a champagne vinaigrette. 2. GRILLED CHEESE sweetened with butternut squash and a sage brown butter. 3. TAVERN (Impossible) BURGER with avo, arugula, pickled onion, and honey mustard dressing. 4. BISTRO (Impossible) BURGER which is like the French Onion Soup of burgers on a challah bun. 5. PATTY MELT, but I'd let my carnivorous side indulge with beef vs. Impossible meat. Thankfully the menu special that greeted me at the front door reaffirmed my choice that I should choose a burger. The Weekday Special from 12-3pm: Any Burger or Sandwich, Side of Fries or House Salad, and a pop was just $16. Plus, the bartender encouraged me that the burgers are really good. So the TAVERN BURGER with Impossible meat, a side green salad, and a lemonade needed no coin toss for me to be decisive. Ordering my meal at the bar was easy, there was no line, and service was quick. I loved that it was chill for a mid-week lunch hour. However, I imagine it gets busy later on in the afternoon and during a non-holiday week. Most of LA was already heading out to campsites for the 4th of July week from what it seemed. Beyond the burger, I really loved the fun decor. Inside, it felt like a Southern Hunting Lodge with its trophies hanging on the wall. Outdoors, it had my kind of charm with its lush greenery, flowering blooms, rustic decor, and picnic-style benches that felt like you're in someone's backyard. I'm sure the big tree in the center helps make the twinkle lights amazing at night. Plus, if you bring your furry friend (service dog) then the outdoor patio is a nice place to chill, and there's a bowl of fresh water just for them. As for drinks, there are plenty of beer choices on tap from Old Rasputin Stout to IPAs. Malbec and Opolo Zin looked enticing too. Since this is a Whiskey Tavern, there are lots of options ranging from low to high-end spirits to choose from. I recommend you take a peek at their menu beforehand to avoid deliberating for a while before choosing the one that speaks to you.
