If your coming here for the first time do not miss the schnitzel meals! It's a good hearty meal to fill a hungry belly! The pork is flattened thin, cooked perfectly and the breading flavorful and crispy. The fries thicker cut, skin on and nicely salted, yum! I had the Donor Kebab this time because I hadn't tried it yet and I have been missing out. It was really good! The mixed meat was on point and cooked just right. The veggie combinations were different then what I'm used to with kebabs but it worked really well. They had red cabbage, cucumber, tomato, lettuce, and pepperoncinis. The pita was wrapped in a thin, yet thick enough wrap to hold it all together and it was a perfect compliment to this Kebab! You can also never go wrong with any sausages, bratwurst or bologna. I like that they don't have a huge menu because everything you get is quality ingredients made with care. Did I mention beer? They have a multitude of glasses and form factors to pour into. The owners and employees have been consistently very kind and helpful with any questions I have about the market or restaurant since the beginning. Speaking of the market, they have always had great and fair prices with their imported items and its one of the only places in town that has quality European dark chocolates. Definitely do not miss this stop if you like good beer and excellent food!

I checked reviews and the menu on here and was torn between a Reuben and a schnitzel sandwich. I went with the schnitzel and it is a five star sandwich for sure. Pounded incredibly thin with a crispy seasoned breading and on a fresh crusty bun. Honestly I miss that sandwich. Next time, we will see how the Reuben compares! I'm never coming to Boise again without hitting das Alpenhaus.

My Rooster's bomb had amazing flavors, the sandwich was dripping with juice while eating it. Service was good. Food presentation wasn't nice, just plain but it isn't a high end restaurant. Restaurant environment was kinda plain, but clean. Bathrooms were clean, but the paper towel dispenser didn't work. We would go back 100%.

There's a lot of tables and bar type seating at the window. I loved the country type decor and all the roosters everywhere. It's a really cute venue. If I had to describe this restaurant, I would compare it to a cafeteria. You place your order and everything from that point on is self serve. We placed our order at the front register. I got the 2 eggs combo with sausage. My husband got the ham breakfast sammy with sourdough. We grabbed a table and our drinks while our food was being worked on. They has one coffee dispenser for coffee. The coffee looked really dark so I added some hot water to it. Unfortunately, with the addition of the hot water, my coffee was still luke warm. It was drinkable but it would have been nice to have a hot cup of it. My husband grabbed his drink from the soda machine. All of the straws, coffee creamers and utensils were on the side to help yourself to. Food came out pretty fast. My eggs were fried nicely. The sausage was warm but not really hot. The hashbrowns were nicely golden but not really hot. They did give me a good portion of the country gravy. The only thing that was piping hot was the pancake syrup that I got for my sausage. My husband enjoyed his sammy. He did appreciate that the ham was sliced thin and it wasn't a huge chunk of ham. After you're done, they have you clear off your own plates, silverware and cups. Tipping throws me off at this point cause what are we tipping you for? They don't fill got drinks, remove any of your plates or even check up on you. It truly is like a cafeteria. I guess I had a different impression of this joint. I thought it would be like any other breakfast joint in town. Roosters is a easy going venue if you're looking for an easy place to eat at. I'm happy I got to try it out but I probably won't be back.

Yesterday, we experienced another unpleasant situation with the quality of food prepared in the…read morestore. We purchased fish that appeared to be leftover from the end of the day. The employee who served us stated that it had been prepared that day and identified it as flounder. When we returned home, we shared the fish with our entire family, including a child. We ate only about one-third of it. By the next morning, everyone became ill, experiencing fever, chills, bloating, and diarrhea. We could not eat anything the following day except water and bananas. This was a very unpleasant experience, and we are concerned that the fish may have been expired, improperly stored, or undercooked. Upon closer inspection, the actual piece of fish appeared to be very small, while most of the surrounding coating had a grayish color and a spongy, sticky, and undercooked texture. It almost seemed as though additional filler had been used to increase the product's weight. The taste was not fresh at all, and it had an odor similar to an old fish tank. The fish seemed old and may have been stored in the freezer for an extended period of time. The surrounding substance resembled soggy breading or undercooked batter. Overall, something seemed very wrong with the product. Customers should be especially cautious when purchasing this type of food for their children. We had to throw the food away, resulting in a complete waste of money. This situation appears to have been caused by poor judgment or unprofessional handling of the product, which is very disappointing from a customer standpoint.
