Follow-up to my review below. This is for Mike Hyde. So you want to blame me for your incompetent, unprofessional, and rude office. Good one! Can you please explain why you have multiple bad reviews over this same issue? You cannot blame that one on me as you have tried. It's not my fault you hire bottom of the barrel. I call your response to this review DAMAGE CONTROL! It's not my fault your office is incompetent and cannot handle the simplest of tasks. You obviously don't have a clue as to what is happening in your own office. Truth-be-told, I chose to no longer work with your company due to the incompetence, not the other way around. I chose another company over yours. You are just upset that you lost a $20,000 dollar Job to a competitor. Get your facts straight. Your company is not worth my time, nor are you. I recently called your office with a warranty issue and that's it. I would NEVER even consider giving your company another job. Your office treated me HORRIBLY. I hope Chris branches off and goes off on his own one day. He would be so much better off without you and your poorly run company. Bye bye! Rude, rude, rude! My appointment was scheduled for between 3:00 and 6:00 pm. Chris, Hyde's service technician, called me at 2:40 and arrived by 3:00. I really appreciated that because usually when a company gives a time frame for when they will arrive, it has been my experience that the company representative will arrive closer to the later time. Chris was prompt, professional, and diagnosed the issue with my heater within a half and hour. The work will be done tomorrow by Chris, and at what I consider to be a reasonable cost. Their tech, Maurice arrived and did a complete check of the system. He explained what he was doing with each step. I was referred to Hyde's by the American Standard website because my 2018 American Standard AC unit was not functioning and needed warranty repair. Hyde's is listed as a warranty dealer. After speaking with a pleasant customer service associate named Magdalena, I was transferred to a female service manager. When I explained the situation and that my system needed warranty repair, the service manager was quick to ask me to provide original proof of purchase. I explained that I didn't have that as I purchased the system with the home. I also explained that I had already forwarded a letter from American Standard showing a 10 year warranty for my exact unit (including serial number and model number). She said this would not be sufficient and recommended that I "call the previous owner of the house" to get a proof of purchase from them. I told her that seemed unreasonable as I already provided proof of warranty coverage and that it was not ok to put that burden on me when it is 110 degrees and the AC is nonfunctional. It could take days or weeks to get in touch with a previous owner and to obtain that documentation. She stated that was their policy and that they could send someone out to do the work, but that I'd have to pay for it if it wasn't covered under the warranty. At this point, I asked for an estimate to replace the fan motor and the capacitor. I was shocked when she stated "I can't give you any prices over the phone." I explained that I just had an AC service person at my house who assessed the situation, recommended these fixes, and also recommended that I contact Hyde's to do the warranty work to save money. Given that I knew what the problem was, I just needed to know how much they might charge me. Sounding annoyed, she put me on hold to ask another manager. She came back on the line and said "give me your serial and model number". To which I responded "oh, that's already in the paperwork that I just emailed you". Sounding even more angry, she said "sir, can you PLEASE just read it to me!" I explained that I was in my car and didn't have access to it and she put me on hold again. Upon returning from yet another hold, she stated "the fan motor will be over $500 for warranty repair." I reminded her that it was also the capacitor and she just flat out ignored me and said "do you want us to send someone out?" I then explained to her that I just had a quote to replace BOTH the fan motor AND the capacitor WITHOUT WARRANTY for $800. How is it possible that having them do warranty work would actually be more expensive than paying out of pocket for the parts AND labor? She was annoyed at this. I stated that her customer service was terrible and that she seemed to want to do everything in her power to prevent me from using my warranty. I told her that I'd prefer to take my business back to another HVAC repair place that was much nicer. I told her that I intended to write a review of this experience on Yelp and I asked for her name. She hung up on me. In summary, I was a person who had a relatively new AC unit that failed. I provided written proof of warranty to Hyde's and was told that wasn't sufficient and I should contact the previous owner of the house. All of this is happening while my house is sitting in 110 degree weather with an extreme heat warning through the following week and temperatures of about 119 degrees coming on the weekend. Hyde's is one of the only American Standard dealers and warranty providers in the Coachella Valley and they were refusing to do reasonable warranty work. Terrible customer service and really poor support of American Standard customers. Definitely would recommend steering clear of this place. read more

I needed a new A/C Heating System (Heat Pump) and called Hyde's A/C upon a recommendation. Michael Hyde initially came to my house to give me all of the options, explained prices, rebates, etc in a very logical and reasonable manner. After making the purchase, Joe and Frank came to complete the installation. They did an excellent job, explaining how the system functions and left my house cleaner than just before they arrived. The next day Michael returned to ensure that I was satisfied with the work done and completed paperwork. Installed an AC. Installers damaged pan and leaked into ceiling. Water damage and a stain. Hyde's tried painting over stain but the whole ceiling needs to be painted. No one wants to take responsibility for authorization to have an outside painter to come in and repaint ceiling Since their guy is unavailable for another week. No exaggeration but have called a minimum of 10 times and am totally frustrated. Sad part is I have been with Hyde's for over 10 years. Time to get a new AC Company as Hyde's no longer puts customer service before profit. read more

I ended up using another AC company and when I called to cancel their twice-annual AC tune-up that I prepaid I had some "foot-dragging" about my getting my money back. About two weeks after my request I did get my money back as a result of my cancellation to their credit. read more

Our new home AC just didn't seem to be working correctly. Even though the developer told us everything was fine, called Hydes to double check things. Thank goodness we did. The house should not have even passed city permit. Our AC units had been installed with the wrong units going to the wrong sides of the house, wrong condenser sizes, plus no emergency water cutoff, plus no safety cover on the power supply. James from Hydes identified these problems and along with Barry's help attached a documented list of infractions to help us get AC issues corrected. James actually felt so bad he came back to remove a register for us so room would get cool. Hopefully we can get the contractor to correct all these problems. No matter what happens, I will be calling Hydes to come back and inspect the work they do. Thanks so much James and Barry. Parts left on the ground next to our ac unit after the repairman left! No written estimate and repairman started adding freon at $90 a pound without a word to us. Hard to believe a two year old $13000 is not working and hydes wants us to purchase parts or a $651 leak test! Why? The owners grandson did our last maintainance 4 months ago and started a hardcore sales pitch about everything our unit needs but never checked in our attic and barely glanced at our unit. Spent whatever time he wasn't trying to sell us parts or services talking politics! No one cares who the hydes family voted for! We care about honesty and communication both of whichhydes lacks! Got a call from Smitty sooner than expected to reassure me my problem was temporary and will follow up with in house visit

I called Hydes to take a look at the air conditioning at my home in Palm Desert. Casey arrived and assessed the problems immediately. Within a week I was scheduled for duct repairs by a technician and maintenance work that was needed to ensure proper airflow. The day prior to the services, I was alerted via text and email of the scheduled appointments. On the day of service, Casey arrived on time and completed the maintenance needed on the system. In addition, he installed a WIFI thermostat control system which will allow us to control the thermostat remotely. The technician, Thor, called and asked if he could come early and arrived promptly, installed the new duct work where needed to complete all the repairs. Both Casey and Thor were professional, pleasant to work with, and efficient on the job. I would highly recommend Hydes to anyone. read more

This business is wonderful. I was recommended them through my homeowners association. I've seen them in my neighborhood numerous times. Once I contacted them, they got back to me right away. I had to wait a few weeks for an appointment, but that's to be expected when summer is coming up. The day of the appointment they texted me a few minutes before my tech was to arrive. Great idea. The tech was wonderful. He was very informative and never pushed any products/services on me. I know I need a new air conditioner next year and he gave me a lot of ideas on that.
