I don't write many reviews, but had to share because this was by far the sweetest and kindest encounter I had at the cafe. I saw the owner putting so much care and intention into my drink, it really reflects the name of this cafe. Before just leaving, the owner asked if I was taking it to-go (which I was). Then he took out a little cup with ground coffee and explained that leaving it on the cup holder has car odor removal effects. I was so touched by the thought he put into just 2 minute to-go experience. If you grew up in a Korean household, this cafe will be reminiscent of your grandparents' cozy place - it's set up with traditional furniture, and the space is clean and inviting. I'd want to come back to work here on a weekday. read more

My friend referred this coffee spot in La Mirada. I decided to go and we were blown away by the aesthetic and ambience. I felt so calm and relaxed. We were greeted by the kindest barista who also happens to be the owner. I am now a regular and each experience just as wonderful as the last. The entire menu is superb. My favorite drinks are the salted Carmel latte, pumpkin spice latte (seasonal) and the ice matcha latte (sweetened). Highly recommend it here! read more

I love this café with the giant tables that they have which is perfect for studying and if you want to socialize with other people together. I mainly want to study when I'm there and the music that the owner plays is calm and soothing, unlike other coffee shops that can play loud music. I am not a coffee drinker, so I usually get the ades here and my favorite is the Strawberry Cooler drink which is refreshing (especially in the summer) and sweet enough for my taste buds. Cute little coffee shop! I got a Spanish mocha and a muffin. The muffin was just out of a package so nothing special. The coffee was good! He even took the time to make a design on top with the foam. The service at Hygge is truly amazing. I came in earlier this afternoon around 4:30pm. Upon walking up to the register to order, I realized the owner had already started cleaning up (washing dishes and having already cleaned up the espresso machine..). He was very kind and offered to still make my drinks. I was very blown away by the kind of service I received. I was very apologetic for his trouble but he reassured me that it was no trouble at all. This place has officially become one of my favorite cafes to visit. As for the drinks, I ordered 2 iced salted caramel lattes with oat milk and 1 iced mocha with oat milk. The drinks were delicious, no complaints at all. They're not too sweet and just the right balance of coffee and creaminess. This place is clean, spacious, and has a very simple esthetic. The owner is so sweet and actually hand crafted each drink individually. I got a toffee nut latte and it was phenomenal. The owner actually gave me a small cup of coffee grounds to keep in my car and told me it would act as an air freshener, which it did!!! Came here because other chain cafes were full. Outside looks a bit suspicious but once you enter, there are spacious areas with nicely placed tables where customers can study, talk, and relax. Ordered strawberry cooler and it definitely was worth the money. I will be coming here a lot more often as this place is quite unique. It doesn't seem to be crowded, but for sure will start gaining attention and attract customers over time. The owner is quite friendly and love the environment. read more

My buddy and I came in to chill and talk. He bought a drink and I drank my water and used the restroom. The owner got all mad at me and told us the restroom is only for paying customers. We've been here like three times. If it was closer, we'd probably be coming here every weekend. Every time we share a drink (because we're trying to watch our weight/sugar intake) but then we regret it cause their drinks are so dang good! Note to self to get my own drink next time!! We've tried their toffee nut and salted caramel latte and I recommend both 100%! The only complaint I have is that there's a little bit more ice than other places and the drink is not filled all the way. Very simple, homey vibe with a lot of space! Love the small details showcasing the Korean culture. Pleasant place to study and catch up with people. Had their cold brew on tap and surprisingly loved it! Not usually a cold brew nor straight up ice coffee kind of girl cause some places are too acidic or bitter for my taste BUT this was not really acidic and could definitely taste the chocolate/cocoa flavor. You'd never expect a coffee place located in a dated neighborhood strip mall to be the the epitome of zen. Once you walk in you immediately feel relaxed. The flowers, plants, lighting, colors, decor and quiet instrumental music on the sound system make you feel like you are being prepared for a relaxing massage. During my visit it was extremely quiet - the customers here were silently looking at their laptops or reading books. There would be an occasional whisper or sound of footsteps. I quietly ordered at the counter: vanilla latte and (after perusing the pastry case) a guava strudel. I took a seat at one of the many tables inside, careful not to make my chair screech along the floor as I pulled it out. As I removed my little strudel from its bag the crinkling of the paper sounded like thunder in this quiet space. It had layers of flakey pastry with a thick guava filling. It wasn't exactly visually pretty but was absolutely delicious. The latte was served at drinking temperature and had a wonderfully light vanilla flavor. They use Stumptown coffee which is quite good. My only quibble is that my paper cup was easily 1/4 foam (more cappuccino-y). Other random stuff: The restroom was immaculate and has a cool faux stone floor. The service here was polite, pleasant and quietly provided. Plenty of parking. Aside from pastries, they also serve a variety of sandwiches and paninis. A great place to relax and ease your mind and body of all your stress as you enjoy a coffee. read more

I'm stepping up my coffee game. Decided to go to an coffee shop that's calm, cozy, and relaxing without any frustration whatsoever. That's why it's called Hygge Coffee which is located in my own zip code. I came inside the shop and I can tell immediately it's pretty amazing. I opted for the hot mocha latte. An middle age barista (might be the owner) really know how to make good coffee. He made my drink and I was amazed by the quality of it. Heavenly good!!! I also like to add that they use Stumptown Coffee Roasters. Gotta love that stuff. Overall, while there's not much to say about this place and it's pretty new, I feel this place will be an success, and I know this place will get good amount of business from the customers. 5 stars for this place. Very nice relatively healthy simple sandwich 4.5* that is a bit pricey at $10.50. 4* Service: -so nice to be served mid-morning by a gentleman with a very calm warm demeanor. 5* Dining in -in dining available with many seating inside a roomy interior. Front door was left open. Had the place to ourselves at 11am 5* -several outdoor tables and chairs (but see and hear the busy street) 4* -big interior spaced is decorated with quaint decor of dried flowers, plants, furniture, and a record player (for show). I found this place accidentally today. When I walked in, I felt relaxed, calm, healthy and friendly atmosphere. The unique store name brought me into talking with owner's husband (not the owner he insisted) . His energy and the way he talks made me feel want to come back again soon. I really like this place. It is certainly trendy, that is it is very popular in Korea to own a coffee shop - this is a Korean run one and it's really good. The owner is the one running the business right behind the counter he makes the coffee. They've got coffee on tap and their flavor combinations are fairly unique with some things like toffee nut not offered at local shops nearby. Prices are okay and the ambiance isn't too loud it's got a great concept and plenty of seating. Would recommend this place as it is quite easy to park! read more

Bar none THE best local shop I've found. No one else compares. Brian is a magician and obviously great with chemistry and has mastered the craft! This man is meticulous and actually weighs out every shot he pours for accuracy and consistency. His ratio of flavoring to coffee/espresso is PERFECT. A cute little coffee spot hidden in La Mirada. It's spacious and has a good selection from the menu, the owner is a nice gentleman. Went with some friends and he made sure to let us know he closed at 4:30-45 it was a Sunday so most likely limited hours. I had the pleasure of speaking briefly to the owner and learned about how the name comes from the Danish word for coziness which sets up the vibe and aesthetic of the cafe. Free Wi-Fi !
