Even though I live 10 min away from this cafe, I never came until recently. This cafe is pretty lowkey and I like how it's not always super packed. It has a lot of tables and outlets and makes a good studying atmosphere! It has a very homey atmosphere and is very clean! I really like their sandwiches here - I've tried the purple sweet potato mousse sandwich (pretty unique) & their chicken panini. I've only been getting their iced americano here so i'm not sure how the other drinks are, but i'm definitely coming back here more often for their food and atmosphere! read more

Just finished up lunch today and realized that we hadn't had coffee yet. Jumped on Yelp and found this place no more than half mile from where we were. Place is really clean and very inviting with some tables to sit and just chill. The coffee menu is pretty basic, hot or iced. My wife got a toffee nut Latte which was on the menu. I asked for a caramel iced coffee, this was not on the menu. The guy behind the counter looked at me like a Deer in headlights. Stating that they don't do that, I asked if they use caramel syrup in any of their drinks, he said yes, I said can you give me that in my iced coffee, he again looked at me like a deer in headlights. Well, I wasn't upset because it's his place and he can do whatever he likes (even if it's something that is not on the menu) so I said that's ok, can I get an iced matcha green tea latte, he was good on that one (it was on the menu) he made the drinks and were ready likity split! Well... I have to say this guy can make a gooood matcha green tea! I said thank you and he was very very appreciative of that. A lot of places just give you a drink and walk away after calling your name, this guy waited around to see how we liked our drinks, he truly made my day, just his demeanor and smile and of course his amazing drink making talent. Really love the vibe. The music is just right to get in some deep study. Slow and relaxing. Super clean and comfortable seating. Plenty of seating for this hidden gem in La Mirada. I ran across this coffee shop a few times on Yelp but always passed after already having my favorites for when traveling thru the area but decided to give it a go after trying a bagel shop down the street. It's really a unique shop, decorated with a lot of traditional furniture and soft classic music playing, quite a surprising vibe for the hectic area not far off Beach Boulevard, wish my parents lived out this way to try. I met both of the owners, a husband and wife, and once engaged in conversation their genuine personalities shown thru. It seems they really enjoy their business and working with the public which can get crazy at times. I can vouch for their soy cappuccino which had a strong flavor, courtesy of their brewer, Stumptown Coffee and after asking for an adjustment to more a "dry" serving they were happy to oblige no questions asked. True to their name, the vibe kept me here into lunch and so I decided to try their organic chicken salad sandwich. Delicious! It had a fresh taste and was garnished with real romaine lettuce not the cheap iceberg often used. The shop is open to 8:00 pm, just late enough to chill after work with friends or get caught up reading or web surfing or your homework. I differ with the one reviewer about being rushed out as they are in NO hurry for you to leave and there's outlets at EACH table which invite you to work or charge your device. I wish this new business a lot of success and I will return again when in the area and try out their Korean Bulgogi Panini sandwich. read more

Non-disruptive, calm music 3. The TABLES are like normal dining tables -- soooo spacious and the right height too. It's hard to work when the tables are tiny or super low.. 4. Recommend and not too sweet. And a strawberry cooler. Which tasted like a shrug. Very tasty. We also had a coffee cake to share. The coffee cake was standard "Costco" muffins. At the front where you order, there is a sign that explains what Hygge means. I think the owner really embraces the meaning of Hygge since my whole experience here felt just like how the word is described! The coffee was great - not too sweet, but just enough sweetness and tons of actual coffee flavor, as opposed to mainstream coffee businesses that use a lot of sugar/syrup. There's plenty of tables, mainly two-seaters, ideally for students or anyone who wants to get some good work done. I wasn't able to sit down and work, but I would definitely love to do that next time! They are also COVID conscious with signs for wearing masks. And of course, the owner was very friendly! Oh gosh. Where do I start? The coffee shop itself is pleasant, calm and very clean which is perfect for studying. The owner is super nice and friendly. I can see he's passionate about coffee. The coffee tastes so so good! The iced americano was not sour (which I don"t like) and was very enjoyable. The toffee nut latte is good for people who like sweet and nutty coffee. From every succulent to each quote, the owners put so much thought into creating a super simple but optimal hygge atmosphere. Not to mention that it's the perfect place to study. It's quiet, clean & full of outlets. I ordered a Vanilla Latte & Avocado Toast. Vanilla latte was good & at a perfect temperature. They use Stumptown Coffee, which a plus. Avocado toast is simple, a little pricey, but full of flavor. I stayed here for ~4 hours to work on an assignment & the owners did not fail to make me feel at home. They noticed I was cold & turned on the heater a bit, too. So sweet! They are celebrating March as it is Women's History Month. Peep my attached pictures: all women get a Cadbury chocolate heart with purchase throughout the month-- how thoughtful & cute! They also have community events! I believe the next event is "coffee cupping" AKA coffee tasting. Parking is ample. It's in a plaza in a super residential area. Not a super great location, but that's what makes it so peaceful! Delicious drinks (I recommend the green tea latte!), fast wifi, super clean bathroom, and the person who took our order (who I assume is the owner) was incredibly nice! There is a TON of seating with super clean tables that are wiped after each use. The shop is incredibly spacious and the tables are socially distanced. There is an outlet at each table. Highlights at Hygge - very friendly owner, super clean and well maintained shop, and a well priced menu. I've been to Hygge twice and both of my interactions with the owner have been great. You can tell he takes the time to make your owner and puts 100% of his attention into your drink. In terms of cleanliness, this shop is hard to beat. My wife joked that the restroom here is cleaner than our restroom at home. It would be dishonest of me to argue against that... seriously how in the world does the man keep a public restroom so spotless?! The menu has a good assortment of drinks and everything is very fairly priced. I typically order a quad shot latte and I was surprised to not see an additional charge for the extra shots. In my experience, shops usually charge an extra $2 for extra shots and then you have blue bottle coffee charging $2 for EACH extra shot. My wife approved of the hot vanilla latte (her outright approval is rare). Everything about this place is a reflection of the owners honest and hard work. One of my favorite coffee spots! The owners are the sweetest and greet you so warmly. I always feel so at home at this cafe! There are usually students studying, and there is so much table space. There are different table sizes and even a large dining table sized table if you come in a large group! There isn't a lot of noise either, which makes it the perfect place to come and concentrate. Their WiFi is consistently good, and they have outlets next to every table! This is my favorite study spot for sure, and they always play great music to help me focus. It doesn't mean coffee tasty is bad, but don't have any special point at this moment. So, I think they have the potential to be a hype cafe around Buena Park & La Mirada if they find their special way for coffee. The strong suits of this place are its atmosphere and cozy environment. The BGM list of the cafe is really my type and it makes more vibe. I definitely revisit this place soon with my friends before it gets hype. read more
