We luv Ice Cream Luv. In fact, it's a frequent stop for us after school to meet up with friends. For a long time there wasn't really a place we could walk to for something like this and it's been a real treat for our family. I see people below making comments about how it's not as fancy as some of the places in Highland Park. Yeah, thank goodness! I just want a delicious scoop of mint chocolate chip at a decent price. I'm not really into all the weird flavors my kids never like anyway and appreciate this place has all the favorites, a few fancy ones, and sorbet that is a huge hit. It's so nice they have vegan flavors, flavors for people with allergies, etc. Besides the great menu and fair prices, Ice Cream Luv has an adorable interior, lots of seating for everyone, free cold water, a nice bathroom, and just an overall good vibe. The people who work here are cool + nice, including the owner who we have met on a number of occasions. The one time I made the mistake of ordering my youngest child "Mexican chocolate" instead of regular chocolate, and she began crying because she didn't want the cinnamon, the sweet woman behind the counter replaced her cup of ice cream free of charge. Awesome spot! We came here this evening for a quick treat for my brother's birthday. And this spot is reminiscent of a classic ice cream shop with a hip, IG worthy flare. The flavors stay true to form, no outwardly experimental flavors, just good old fashioned and creamy ice creams. Aside from your typical dairy fixes, they also have selections that dairy dairy-free and gluten free (sorry I don't believe that have sugar-free, yet I hope!). It's a bit on the pricey side, however compared to other fancy ice cream locations, their serving sizes are well priced. I had a single scoop that was easily the size of a half a pint of ice cream that I almost thought it was too much for a single serving! Not that it's a bad thing. Also when ordering cones, they have 3 different types of cones, from your classic sugar cone, to your waffle cones. It's simplicity with all the options! Our server worked alone but she was super attentive and nice and really took the time to offer tastings of their selections. Even though it feels like this shop just opened, I was surprised to learn it's been around for almost a year--it took me way too long to finally try it. We walked into bright lights, a bold and fun design, and the smell of sweet ice cream in the air. The owner greeted us with so much energy and kindness. He encouraged us to sample as many flavors as we wanted, which made it even harder to decide what to get. We ended up going with Almond Fudge in a waffle cone and Rocky Road in a regular cone. If you get the Rocky Road, make sure to ask him to tell you the inside joke--it's a good one. The ice cream was really enjoyable--not too sweet, just the right balance. While we were eating, someone came in and ordered a Luvzookie (a warm cookie with ice cream and toppings), and we immediately knew we had to try that too. No regrets--it was delicious. With all the ice cream shops in Highland Park and Pasadena (and great ones at that - Jeni's, Salt & Straw, Wanderlust Creamery, Kinrose, Magpies, Scoops), it's somewhat surprising that Eagle Rock didn't have an ice cream shop till Ice Cream Luv opened. Yes, there are froyo shops and places to get ice cream (e.g., Colorado Donuts), but not an ice cream shop. Ice Cream Luv offers fairly traditional flavors (16 flavors a day - 2 of these were sorbet) that you can get by the scoop, with a waffle cone, as a banana split, sundae, or sandwich with toppings and whipped cream. They also have floats and milkshakes. Ask for samples. I don't believe that they make the ice cream but it's locally sourced. Lemon sorbet ($5.25, single scoop): The texture was off. It wasn't a ball of smooth, dense sorbet but was loose and icy like shaved ice or Italian ice. There were large ice chunks. The flavor was fine: tangy, tart, and a bit sour like a good lemonade. The flavors were too basic for me, but would probably satisfy the families in Eagle Rock. The space is simply decorated, but it does have one striking ice cream mural. Seating is limited and you may have to look for street parking (there is no parking lot). read more

Spacey location but not a lot of inside seating. We grabbed two high chairs at a high table top that overlooked the front window. Nice servers. Been here 3times now and service has been consistently warm and so friendly. Eagle rock needed an artisanal ice cream shop and one with such a warm inviting atmosphere too. You walk in and you can smell the waffle cone and the bright vibrant colors on the wall definitely invite you to stay.
