They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!

With all the distillers upstairs and downstairs, the whole place pulls you into the experience the second you walk in. The food is honestly some of the best bar food I've ever had. This is bistro food, not your typical chicken fingers and frozen appetizers. The menu is always changing, which keeps things exciting, and everything feels like it was actually thought through. Service is what makes this place stand out even more. The owners genuinely care about the community. They're constantly popping in, saying hi, checking on guests, and making sure the food is coming out at its best. You can tell they're invested in the experience, not just the business. The ambience is awesome. Great energy, great crowd, and a beer selection that keeps me happy every time. I'm a huge sour beer guy and it's almost impossible to find bars with a solid sour selection, but they always have multiple options on tap, including some they brew themselves. They kept the food and drinks coming and frequently checked on us so kudos to them. Only obstacle was asking one of them a bunch of menu questions and food recommendations but he is vegan so had no opinions since most of the menu is meat. On to the food. The best things were the hummus/pita starter, and that's about it. The pretzel was ok but all 3 dips were not mustard based so lame. I ordered a half rack of pork ribs. While cutting them they squirted me which I thought was a good sign, but they had no flavor and basically no sauce. There is a fine line between charred and burnt and they started to cross the line, just tasted like burnt charcoal. I doused them in their original BBQ sauce and it actually made them worse; the sauce just tastes like liquid spice and also had no distinct flavor. Can't ruin fries... wrong! They were overly fried and any potato remnants had been cooked away. The coleslaw was not coleslaw, it was just chopped up purple cabbage, totally inedible. Some other food reviews from my coworkers. Fish and chips: dry Fried pickles: where are the pickles Miso cod: not good Bacon burger: also not good Chicken wings: you guessed it I also got one of 3 sour beer options, The Who Likes Orange Soda, which magically tasted like half sour beer half orange soda. I've also had the turkey burger, which is very good, and the French fries are amazing. My friend ordered the Salmon Benedict and needed a Paleo-friendly adjustment. They were very accommodating, which we really appreciated. And, of course, I had a mimosa, which was great! One thing I've noticed both times I've visited is how hardworking, friendly, and upbeat the women on the staff are. The service has been consistently great, and everyone makes you feel welcome. Parking: Street parking is available and really isn't too difficult. Some of the spaces closest to the restaurant have a two-hour limit, but there is also residential street parking nearby. Mindy ended up being our wonderful server. Despite the incredibly busy morning, she remained friendly and engaging. We watched her provide the same level of service to every table, while pleasantly managing the constant flow of walk-ins hoping to dine without reservations. It was a great experience overall -- we look forward to coming back! Street parking was tough to find. The Chase bank at the end of the block is closed on Sundays so we parked there without any issues. After brunch we explored the immediate area to find a couple nice thrift shops. Music was kinda loud that it was kinda hard to converse with friends. Bartenders we're nice, although it took awhile for our orders to be served. Quesadilla and garlic fries we're not bad choices. I Just can't say the same to the chicken tenders. Parking is residential so a little walk shouldn't be a problem. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to visit this bar again.

I did not want to write this…read more Because I understand that opening and running a restaurant is a very daunting endeavor. It is VERY difficult to create a well oiled machine. A successful restaurant. My purpose on writing this is that everyone running the restaurant see this specific day from an outsiders eyes, and hopefully make the proper adjustments to become what every successful restaurant aims to be. We live close by. Walk by it often. Hopefully the kitchen staff doesn't wait for us after this with a pot of boiling water. My wife and I are foodies. I use the word because it's the word that properly describes those who love great food, and seek it wherever it may be. I'm not trying to be cool. I'm just telling you all we love a great dish. We had very close friends come a visit. We had the whole day planed. "... and we could go to this new pub they opened close by. Supposedly the food is great." We called to make sure that it was open and to see if we could make a reservation. This tells you whoever is calling is very interested on coming to you. You have been chosen for that day. They told us it was "trivia night and it is very busy". "If you can find where to seat..." We decided to go and try our luck. After our plans for the day we head there. We took an Uber for what was about a block walk because it was raining and North Hollywood turns into Atlantis when it rains. We get there and, as we were told, it was trivia night. The place was not "to capacity". There were some tables available. So we sat down. You will order through a QR Code. A bit complicated, I would say, knowing that one goes to a restaurant to be served. QR's were ok through Covid. But Covid is well and gone. This just seems lazy and I would Imagine it creates a bunch of problems for the kitchen staff. As I point an example. We all started placing our orders. An employee, which I am not really sure what her job was, as I will explain here, tells us that "we are very sorry. Just letting you know we do not have any burgers". "I will bring you all waters." The water never came. Eventually my buddy got up and got us all waters. If you are there to let us know this, and to bring us our food (as she did later on), why can't you take our order? Just a thought. We went there for the burgers. I had an incline to leave. But my wife said we should "try the food... maybe everything is good." We all restart our orders. Two couples. Ordered pretty much the exact thing. 4 beers. 2 pork Sandwiches. 2 chicken sandwiches. 2 pretzels. Loaded fries. 1 Mexican coke. We get the drinks. No explanation. I was almost certain I had ordered a dark beer. But... what do I know? ‍ A few minutes later comes MY beer. "Oh you didn't order this one? They must've poured it extra". Some may say "hey man, you got a free beer". I did not want free food (or drinks*). I wanted great food. And proper service. We waited about 50 minutes. By a timer, I placed once I realized this was all taking too long. Through the course of this wait I noticed other tables were getting burgers. Some tables got there after us. "Maybe someone went and got ground beef at the supermarket". If this was the case, nobody told us. The food starts trickling down, with a very vague apology. "The kitchen is slammed today". I've worked slammed kitchens. I understand this fully. But even through a hectic service, it is our duty as cooks to make sure that the food that comes out is the absolute best. Especially through longs waits, and letting diners know you are short on items. Items they specifically came to try. The fries, which were the best thing we got, tasted like Target loaded fries. Which is not too bad. The "pork sandwich" had about 3 ounces of meet inside of it, it was drenched in sauce, and left a super weird aftertaste. Almost chemical. The chicken sandwich was flavorless. The pretzels were ok. You are asked to tip in advance. We tipped the QR code the proper percentage. Proper for great food and good service. We got neither. I would imagine that this would be a very painful read to whoever owns this place. I can assure you that it was as painful to is receiving it. The beers are not bad. But after all of these, how would YOU rate this experience? Would you ever go back? I wouldn't presume to "know better than you do". I am sure you guys have a business plan that you went over hundreds of times before opening your doors. I just think it's worth reading reviews like this one. And maybe adjusting a few things. They're as good as I remember, and they still have a great beer selection as usual. I got there right around when I was supposed to hop on a webinar so I didn't get a chance to chat with staff much but they were great in getting me anything I needed. I was in the usual buzz of a bar and music but I could actually hear the presenter perfectly. It made taking an otherwise boring work call way more pleasant. I keep coming back for these chips, but one of these days I'll update you with some actual food I finally get.

My wife got the other burger option, and had similar thoughts...it's just a burger. The cocktail menu is extensive, but too expensive to fully explore. Happy hour is limited to two cocktails, neither of which are on theme. Off the menu, cocktails go from $17-$30. That's egregious. None of them are worth that price point. I had one cocktail, that was gin and pineapple, but it tasted mostly like pineapple. They pretend to be a dive bar with the decor, but it's all just a grimy veneer on top of an overly expensive, slightly pretentious cocktail bar.
