We were driving on Interstate 10 towards Florida nothing around and we found this IHOP which was awesome the servers were prepared food was prepared quick and we were in and out rather quickly. My experience was a lot better than others here. It may have to do with the fact that we were the only ones there at 11pm. I ordered the California scrambled which is very delish. I would stay away from the iced coffee. I had to get that replaced as it was nasty but my waitress did so without issue. read more

I almost always enjoy the food at IHOP but always find it to be very overpriced. This visit was no exception. My smoked sausage and egg plate was over $9.00 for two pieces of sausage two eggs hash browns and two pancakes. Their food cost should be incredibly low. I am an out of state visitor in Kerrville since November 2018 and enjoy a weekly breakfast with my son. The Kerrville IHOP continues to be a disappointment. Extremely poorly managed. Long wait to be seated. Long wait to be served. Long wait to get check. Long wait to pay your bill. Food served cold. Orders are delivered wrong. Staff argues with each other. Mass confusion. All of these are very consistent. IHOP corporate needs to come in and re-educate the entire staff. read more

Our waiter was respectful and accommodating. We ordered two dinners with a 2 for one coupon. My spouse had the pot roast dinner and I had the chicken fried steak, which comes with broccoli. When I remarked to the waiter that I thought it was strange that broccoli was the side for the chicken fried steak, he said I could change out the vegetable if I wished. This place is a JOKE! It took an hour to get our food and once we did get it my order was wrong. I sent it back to get them to fix it but all they did was change the bread. There was dressing all over the lettuce that turned the bread a pink color..they forgot my side of fruit too. While waiting for our food I heard the waitresses very loudly say douche bag TWICE! I've got 3 kids less than 10 feet from them during this conversation! Me and my husband laughed about how big of a joke this place was and I wasn't going to leave a review until we were going to pay. We had the best service at IHOP today. We were greeted with smiles upon arrival and seated really fast. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful and we never had an empty cup. Worst customer service. I had to ask for the manger 3 times before someone went to go get her. I also had a sweet tea and the spoon in the tea had dried old egg on the spoon. I have never had a worst experience at any restaurant as I went to this location. My husband, two grandchildren and I arrived at this IHOP, around 7 minutes later a group of five did it, and 20 minutes after, a couple also arrived. 45 minutes later the two groups that arrived after us had their food already set on their tables and we were still without a single plate. My grandchildren were starving. We left the IHOP after asking an explanation to the waitress. She said that the other waitress has put the order first than hers, when I asked her about the couple that had arrived 20 minutes later than us she couldn't answer anything. If I could give less than one star, I would! Have been there a couple of times in the past, however it has been several years since the last visit. I wish poor service was the only problem. If it were a waitstaff or cook issue, that could be addressed and corrected. I believe the problem is with poor management/ownership. We were seating quickly and even greeted fairly fast. After the order was taken, we waited fourth minutes before anyone acknowledged that we were there. It was another ten minutes, everyone who came in after us had been served, we decided to leave. I would have spoken to a manager or even my waiter, however neither could be found so we just left. I have been in the hospitality business for several years, but it didn't take an expert to see what the issue was with this particular location. My Sister and I went to this IHop location on Sunday, April 16th and it was very busy but the wait time was quick. At first, we thought oh how lucky, this will move really quick and we'll be back on the road heading to Houston. That was my first mistake, thinking that just because we were seated relatively fast, did not mean we would be serviced in the same manner. After approximately 10/12mins, someone finally came over to ask if any one had taken our order yet, answer...ah no. So, at that time the waiter took our drink order, now we're thinking that he was our server, but just as he finished taking that drink order, a young lady approaches the table and introduces herself as our server, she apologized to him first for him having to take the order then to us for having to wait so long. Now you would think it would be the other way around but, not! His response to her was no problem we cover each other, whereas my thought was no, no, no, let him serve as our waiter, but I remained respectful, because in the corner of my eye I could read my Sister's thoughts, please don't start, so I held my tongue. Well, I guess she met the waiter in the back somewhere because she returned with the drink order and asked if we were ready to place our order, we were, so she took it and said she'll be back shortly. All we ordered was a stack of blueberry pancakes an egg and hash browns for my Sister, and a stack of buttermilk pancakes, soft scramble egg, and hash browns for me. Tell me why she came back with all of my Sister's order and just a hard scrambled egg and hash browns for me with an explanation that she's waiting on the cook to finish my pancakes? I couldn't understand why she would return with an incomplete order and why not just leave it all in the back under the light so that it could at least stay warm? Well, in case you didn't guess it, 15mins later I'm still waiting on those pancakes, so now here come the pancakes, and you guessed it, eggs like rubber and hash browns colder than ice. I told the waitress take it ALL back, tell the cook start from scratch and everything had better be hot when she returns. I guess I must have had stupid written on my forehead, because I'm looking at the same eggs, hard, stiff, dry looking, the hash browns are now dried out with a dull hue about them, and the pancakes got this BIG lump of butter sitting on top. I flagged down the waiter that took our drink order and demanded to see the Manager, Within seconds the Manager (Ms Darla) was at our table and she was asking if there was anything she could do? I gave her the entire scenario of what my experience there had been so far with the waitress and obviously the cook as well. I asked her to just take a look at what I had been served and that this was their second attempt at trying to make it right, who brings out hash browns and eggs from and order that included pancakes but don't return in a timely manner with the pancakes? I told her I know that what they did was to pop the order in the microwave, she smile (embarrassed) that I would know that. She apologized profusely and asked me if she prepared the order herself would I consider giving it another chance, I told her only if she did it herself would I accept the offer. She promised she would, and within maybe 7/10 mins. she returned with my order, she even asked if that was the way I wanted my eggs, soft scrambled, yes, I replied, and thank you so much for your compassion, for being considerate and for understanding. I explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but since I'm paying for this order it should be the way I ordered it. She replied she understood, and hoped I enjoy my breakfast. Well, by now I'm eating alone because my Sister had long finished her meal, so she order another drink until I finished mine. However, before I could even take one bite the waitress returned to drop off our meal ticket, the nerve of her, she did nothing, that I felt was worthy of her even returning to my table, and on top of that she returned twice to ask if there was anything else I needed. Chic, if I needed anything else, you would never be the person I ask, instead I'd do without. So, after all that I'd described above, why did I give this IHop a (5) star? THE MANAGER!!! THE MANAGER!!!! THE MANAGER!!!!! SHE MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THIS REVIEW, AND IS SHE THAT I GAVE MY TIP OF APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE TO. Would I return to this IHop in the future? Everything was good until we ordered our drinks. The waitress did not offer refills until we asked. Flys everywhere, ants all around the tables and our waitress wasn't very attentive. We were being patient with her since she stated she "was new" but she placed our order wrong, and obviously did not know how to work the register because she did not put the right order on our ticket after multiple times. We keep giving IHOP chances. The food isn't bad but the people they hire make eating there a not-so-good experience. There's a woman there about three days older than dirt working the cash register and that's ALL she has to do but she goes wandering off, talking non-stop to other employees, she can't be found when the ticket is to be paid, some other waitress had to do it for her. She's rude and thankfully, someone took her fly swatter away, she'd go around killing flies with feet of where folks were still eating. I would give this location zero stars if it was available. We had a table of 6 that they had to put two tables together for and while we waited another group of 6 arrived. The restaurant almost seated the second group before us if I had not stepped up and said something. The waitress started off fairly prompt when she took our drink order, but that changed as soon as the drinks arrived. She took forever to take our order and did not inform us until after we waited 45 minutes to get our food that the kitchen was behind 20 minutes (which we found out only after asking about the status of our order). The food arrived cold or maybe lukewarm at best. Terrible service combined with the cold food netted them zero tip. I will not return. Not a good experience. Our problem was with service. Party of 4. Two ordered teas one water and other ordered coffee. Zero refills on water and tea even after asking waitress...she was in the kitchen when I asked for more drinks. But that was the last time we saw her until check time.
