My wife and I both enjoyed the Swedish Crepes although some of the fruit sludge they had on top was excessive and had to be removed. After being sat and ignored for 10 minutes, finally asked to be served and a very angry hostess took my order, I couldn't help but to notice that she was scowling the whole time. As unfriendly her bedside manners were, it matched her service. Usually it's custom to offer creamer with coffee or straws for your beverages; not even that could she deliver. This location is alright. I prefer it over the Dennys down the street. We're always here for brunch and order the same stuff. Country fried steak and eggs and Swedish crepes with lingonberry butter. This review is on their hamburgers at IHOP restaurants I found that the burgers at IHOP are dry and tasteless versus the hamburgers sold at Denny's restaurant are extremely delicious juicy and worth 10 bucks. What a shitshow! Whoever runs this location should surrender being a manager. Okay, I did not have high hopes for IHOP but this was just a horrible experience. I think the theme of the night was "SORRY." I kept hearing the servers apologize to patrons yet nothing really seemed to get fixed. Whatever. Anyways, service was just all over the place. I felt I had to constantly wave down the server. My food came warm NOT hot. Who wants to eat cold pancakes and eggs at 12am? My friend was disgusted with his salad but then again why would anyone ever order a salad from IHOP... I haven't eaten at an IHOP in a long time- decades even. I typically don't like chain restaurants and I try to eat vegan so IHOP wasn't too promising. But I was traveling with a big group so I checked on a website that lists vegan options in chsin restaurants and this one had an option or two. I ended up getting something not vegan, but it was good. I mean it was actually good. Haven't been here for awhile, but we were in the vicinity and eager to eat. We arrived at about noon and the place was bustling. Greeters are waiting at the door and we were immediately seated. The waiter brought beverages swiftly and took our order. We decided on Tilapia. It took longer than we would have liked, but the restaurant was very busy and everybody was doing the best they could. The fish was very good and it came with broccoli flowerets which were just this side of not being overcooked. What is it with the ever present broccoli? Every restaurant is using it. I've come here a few times as our timeshare is just up the road. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the service is inconsistent. The first two experiences were great. Good waitress, fast service, family friendly and fresh ingridients. I have to say aside from our sour experiences of the food taking way too long at times it did always taste great which is a far cry from other I HOPS we have tried in the past specially compared to the horrible ones on the east coast. Amazing pancakes specially the stuffed french toast with strawberries on top. The children's menu is great and with many options, the menu is printed on a coloring/puzzle activity sheet that will keep your kids busy. Just make sure if your child is at an age where he or she can read the puzzle maybe inappropriate. It's real hard to offend me and I'm not sensitive over what my children will be exposed to growing up, I will control what I can but it's life. The Islamic and its religion based puzzle questions however I think is really inappropriate for kids and shouldn't serve a purpose certainly not something I want to explain to my child over breakfast... no disrespect but they will learn this stuff in school when time comes. Great manager! The young Hispanic manager of the restaurant was a real pro. We arrived on a busy Saturday morning with two families asking to sit together, but with separate checks. The waiter seemed to struggle a'bit and somehow our orders were submitted at different times. Part of our orders arrived, long before all of the others. The manager, noticing the issue swooped in, took control, marshaled the staff and got things rectified quickly. He basically became our waiter and brought us some pancakes while we waited for the rest of our order. You can't control mistakes from ever happening, but it's nice to see competent management staff that can recognize an issue and are willing to address it themselves when necessary. My girlfriend and I visit IHOP locations on a regular. I have to say this one is the worst by far. I took my girl friend after a movie a late night on her birthday, and the waiter refused to use her birthday coupon! What's the point of receiving email promotions if they won't even honor their own promotions??? I was polite and let him know it was strictly for that day, because of her birthday he said he couldn't! And suggested to come back a different day! Then said he could if I print it out, no where on the email did it state you had to print it out!(every other location just gets it of your phone) I requested to speak to the manager and he replied that he wasn't in and didn't know his number. Heard about the all-you-can-eat pancake promo on the Today show and decided to visit IHOP for first time since I was a kid. IHOP was hopping with capacity crowd of fellow consumers of tasty comfort carbs (be damned low carb New Year's diet resolution). Curiously the pancake promo is very stealth (no signage, no tell from server). We had to ask server about promo, which requires ordering from special menu (not the expansive menu given when seated), which had several breakfast combos of eggs+meat+hashbrowns along with stack of three pancakes or you could buy stack of 5 to start.before more steamin' stacks-o-cakes kick in. We were never asked if we wanted more pancakes....or had our water refilled but were given the check before being asked if everything ok. In fairness to server it was busy but we were there for quite awhile. We did finally get the stack. Bottom line: Good value and quality breakfast combos and pancakes with choice of 5 syrups (fave: butter pecan)...and the omelettes are delish. read more

Dinner here last night -- not my choice but they were paying, OK? BTW the map is wrong -- the pointer shows it on the east side of the street, when it's on the west side of Monterey, putting it in Rancho Mirage, not Palm Desert. I prefer the Cathedral City location, as mentioned in my previous review. Anyway, there are quite a lot of tempting choices. My last time at IHOP, I had the Pot Roast Melt sandwich on sourdough, which I found quite yummy. I decided to just get the pot roast on a plate this time, with mashed potatoes and corn. That's only 780 calories -- far less than a sandwich. For those who complain about the calories listed on the menu, I believe that is now some sort of state law. The servings are still way larger than anyone really needs to eat, but that's the restaurant business: "Come Hungry, Leave Happy" is more than just a slogan. Maybe "Come Hungry, Leave Stuffed" would be more accurate. Really, I should remember to tell them to halve the meal and put half in a box to take home. Most dinner entrees are $10.99, with a few a dollar or so more or less. But, I thought my roast was a bit dry; it could have used some gravy or au jus on it. It was good enough, anyway and I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Gluttony is acceptable if it is practiced in moderation. read more

I have never had a bad experience at IHOP until this evening. This IHOP is the absolute worst Iv ever been too. My mother in law ordered a Belgian waffle combo. Her over easy eggs weren't cooked at all and completely running and disgusting the egg white portion of it was completely slimy as well and her bacon was cold. Then to my father in laws meal. He got the sampler platter and the cheese and his quesadilla wasn't melted at all...and for the worst! My fiancés Philly cheese steak had some weird worm like thing inside the meat. We also had to move tables because there was little ant like bugs crawling up the wall and in the syrups. And our server was terrible. She didn't compensate us at all nor apologize for our horrible experience ! We will not be back ! And it's a shame because I hop is a regular go to spot for our family for breakfast read more

Me and my kids came to this ihop and he ordered chocolate milk and while he was drinking his chocolate milk he felt something crunchy in his mouth and when we saw it there was a piece of metal that came from the chocolate milk and showed it to the manager and all she did was took out the chocolate milk from our bill..
