The food and service were good. We came at 8:30 am. We ordered the hamburgers which came with fries and a drink. We ordered iced tea and coffee for our drinks. When we went to pay the bill we were charged for the coffee. When we questioned the cashier about it she said in an officious and rude manner that coffee wasn't included. She should not be working with the public. She was absolutely not customer friendly at all. Also IHOP should change their policy regarding drinks (and screen personnel better!) My order was wrong and my kids had got their food already so I said never mind that I would not be ordering anything else, and I said this nicely, yet I still got an attitude from the waitresses. It's not the messed up food that made me want to leave a bad review, but the lack of good customer service. They couldn't even bother to offer a discount.... Definitely one star based on the absence of service. It seems the staff avoid eye contact and seem to purposely ignore customers. Food served hot but no condiments or settings at booth. Basically a Denny's with staff more concerned about talking with each other rather than the customers. read more

As soon as I walked in, the restaurant smelled sour. The eggs are rubbery, hash browns taste like a cheap frozen variety. The corn flakes on the French toast is hard to chew. The coffee wasn't even great. I really prefer Maxcys in Palm Springs. read more

Just left there. Ordered basic 2x2x2. Eggs and sausage arrived without pancakes. Pancakes arrived 20 minutes later only after we asked about them. No manager on duty. Jesus the kid behind the register said the chef was doing his job and he was doing his and couldn't help. Server was clueless. Really??? We go there often but won't go back after the bad attitude and really poor service. Server didn't have a clue. They removed the cost of that food although we did not ask. Food was good. Service on the other hand not so much. For a Sunday afternoon I feel like there should have been more staff. Plenty of people in the waiting area with plenty of open booths and no one was moving. Our waitress was nice yet our food was served to us after another booth that was seated 15 minutes after us. IHOP is really too expensive for what you get. It should be priced more like Denny's, because it's not really any better. It was really busy, but our food took a long time to come out. And then they didn't bring all the food at the same time, one coming out at least 5 minutes after the other. I love eating at IHOP. But was very disappointed with the IHOP where I live in La Quinta. So we took the drive to Rancho Mirage. The Food was delicious and fresh. Our waitress "Juana" was great!! Tipped her well. The restaurant is nice, cool and clean feels fresh. With a relaxed atmosphere. Oh and a major plus with their clean Restrooms. Seriously? charging almost $3 for 1 cup of coffee. And I mean plain black coffee, no fancy latte' or mocha. I don't want or need a carafe. Always feel "rushed" when here. Servers don't give you their full attention when taking your order. They are too quick to try to remove plates even if food is still on them. Most of us senior citizens like to "relax" during meals, and we don't plow through our food & some of us need to take the time to let our food digest a little. But man the servers will come up and put their hand on your plate to life it up and rudely ask ARE YOU DONE??? WHEN I AM FINISHED YOU WILL KNOW AND WON'T NEED TO ASK!! Anyway the portions of food are large, usually enough to share a meal. Noting 'special' about the food, gotta remember it's a chain and their is no creativity in preparing it. Not sure why this place has such a bad rating. My boyfriend and I stopped by for a quick brunch before heading out on the road back to LA. Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. I didn't want bacon or sausage with my food, being a vegetarian and all, and she quickly suggested that I get a cup of fresh fruit instead. Awesome! Our food came out pretty quickly (especially given how busy it was), and it even came out with a little extra food (got an extra thing of hashbrowns and fruit). The food was good-- actually much better than some fancy French cafe we went to the day before. Gotta love the consistency of IHOP's food. I go to IHOP for brunch (it sounded good!), they were quite busy. No problem. I don't have anything pressing to do and am not in any kind of rush... for anything! It took a bit longer than it should have to receive my breakfast and the waitress told me they weren't going to charge me for my coffee. Told her to not worry about it, I understand the delay. Finishing up with my breakfast, I asked her for my bill. She said, "don't worry about it. We're really busy and we don't want to have you pay because we couldn't serve you in a timely manner." Even though I insisted, she said "nope", and kindly walked away. After speaking with the manager, and still insisting to pay. He wouldn't let me either. So, she received a pretty fat tip!!! This IHOP is one of the best ones in the valley. I went the other night with my mom and i had an amazing time. Our server Jesus was amazing. He was all by himself and still managed to take care of us and the rest of his tables mainly when it was packed. Props to the manager and staff. Really well trained. The service sucks. I've had 3 bad experiences already. All the servers have a look on their face that they don't want to be there. My first bad experience was they brought my food late.. My parents were done eating and the waiter brought my food and it was cold like if it was in the frig the whole time, I told the waiter I didn't want it anymore and she still charged it and gave me attitude. The second and third experiences I never received my food. And never got my drink and it wasn't even busy. I would tell the waiter and she would say "be right there" yeah right the restaurant is so quiet and you can hear them in the kitchen talking and laughing. read more
