I know servers are supposed to be friendly and half of them try and half of them don't. Then there are the ones who are authentic, charismatic, and elevate the room with life. Vickie is that person. Visiting my brother at TGICU and this has been our go to place during our stay. Yesterday I was craving some protein and I ordered the steak tips and eggs and holy moly it was just what I needed. Juicy tips with sauteed onions and mushrooms. I opted for the English muffins which were delicious and buttery. Today I ordered the mushroom and spinach omelette added bacon and I was so not disappointed!! Large amount of food, I couldn't hardly finish it. I got the pancakes and used the butter pecan syrup and it was divine! We don't have Ihop where we live so it's a treat. Definitely puts Dennys to shame in my opinion. We've actually had the same server both days and she's amazing. Friendly, fast service, and the fact she remembered us from our last meal was a nice touch of hospitality. But by that time I have forgotten how terrible I hope usually is and then once I go I am disappointed all over again. We tried to get a late meal at this location on Sunday evening. We arrived at 9:03 pm. We specifically checked the website and Yelp to confirm that the restaurant would be open to serve us. We had a very stressful evening at a local hospital, hence the need for a late meal. We arrived and were greeted by a young man who told that we would not be able to dine at the restaurant. We pointed to the times posted on the door which specifically stated open until 10pm. We had driven across town to be able to de-stress over a late meal. The young man could not give us a convincing reason why they couldn't serve us other than the kitchen wanted to clean up and go home. We felt this was highly inappropriate given that the website, Yelp and the hours posted on the door were that the place was open until 10 pm. read more

Our recent trip to IHOP was kind of a letdown. We popped in on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, with just a handful of tables taken. But right off the bat, we noticed the floor was super sticky under our table, not exactly a great start for cleanliness. Our server didn't seem too thrilled about serving us and had this kind of "meh" attitude the whole time. Even though they were doing free short stacks that day, we decided to grab an appetizer too. But as soon as our food was delivered by the manager, our server was asking if we were ready to pay. We'd barely been there 15 minutes, and hadn't taken a bite of food yet. When I tried to explain that we weren't done yet and wanted to use some points on the app to order another item. she brushed me off with a "I have nothing to do with the app" and walked away. Pretty frustrating, especially since the digital coupon clearly said to show it to our server. The manager was checking on the tables asking how everything was going, so I found it a perfect time to ask about the coupon. But he just told me to tell our server. Talk about feeling brushed off again. Finally, when our server came back, I mentioned what the manager said, and she just told us to "wait until the end." It made me feel like I was bothering her or something. We did eventually get to use the points and our item came, but honestly, it was more about the disappointing service than the food. The server was super sweet but the first cup of coffee I got still had someone's lipstick stain on it. I ordered the 55+ rise and shine and the scrambled eggs portion was extremely small. Also I only received one slice of bacon and one sausage link. I requested two more slices of bacon and two more sausage links and was charged for 4 pieces of bacon at $4.99! Went there on March 4th. Has not been open very long. It was clean. My server I believe she said Katie she was amazing. Very polite and attentive. Order was right. The hash browns were not real hot. They were good. The rest of the food was good. So my server placed me in a booth, if you are really small that's fine but they need to make the setting a little bit bigger. I could have asked for a table but didn't want to get there seating order all messed up. I have been in food service before. I'm not sure who thought it was good to make them that small, but this is America with the majority being regular size not pettie. Over all ihop does need to improve there over all style. There were two things that I would like the manager to be aware of. First the restaurant smelled slightly sour, this is the result of not using clean mops ane bar rags. It will only get worse with time so it should be addressed ASAP. The second thing is that the tea in the cute little carafe tasted like old stale coffee. Ok I understand this location is new and hasn't found it's rhythm yet. This does not negate the fact that you are easily paying for food out of a plastic bag that are priced the same as say, Shaka bra the wife ordered an omelette with blueberry pancakes. I ordered the split decision, and my daughter had the mini pancakes. I might be alone in this thought, but I prefer eggs cracked from a shell as well as not being able to see the light through my bacon nor does my wife appreciate almost rubber blueberries we went Saturday morning, so it was busy. Food took 30 minutes to get to us after we ordered the plates were hot which meant that it was sitting under a heat lamp for far too long and the noise level due to the shape of the building drowned out any conversation my wife and child and I had. on a sidenote my kid has ADHD, and this place was far too much for her to handle so if you have sensitivities towards sound or cramped spaces do not come here during busy times. The only positive I can attest to is there French toast is thick and cooked perfectly and the staff was very pleasant and apologetic towards how long everything took.
