This place is a phenomenal neighborhood bar! Great Italian food with good portions, a fantastic bartender and the best fun ambiance especially at the bar! Hard to get a seat, but so worth it! There's occasional live music and the pizza is awesome too!

Our newest find (thanks to our friends Teri and Jimmy who already were coming here). We adore this place, cannot believe we never knew about it, but now we do and we have been here every weekend since! The best description is it is an old school local Italian joint...That means they share the love in every way you can imagine. Now we love eating at the bar and meeting everyone, getting to know the bartender, getting recommendation's about the menu etc. We have made it our mission to work through the menu one dish at a time! I have to say we have been doing a great job as we have tried multiple dishes over the last 4 visits so far. The extra virgin olive oil made into their house dipping oil with their herbs etc is off the charts with the hot fresh bread they serve. There is always a specials list which makes it even harder to choose what to order. They offer some homemade pastas one of which is their homemade raviolis...YUM... we have had their 1/2 order and full order of these. Love that they offer some dishes as a half order or full so you can have a little of this and that! We have definitely gone this route a few times because we love a fabulous leftover later in the night at home. Plus you gotta leave room for their dessert! Fave so far is the chocolate mousse cake! We have had pastas, chicken, fish, steak and veal dishes so far. Enjoyed each and every one. We saw someone have the pizza last week and boy did that look great so maybe next visit. Listen, the food is delicious, the service is phenomenal, the bartenders just terrific, service with a big smile, make a great cocktail and make you feel very welcome. The owner Steve is always here checking in on everyone's happiness from start to finish. It is simply a home away from home atmosphere, very fair prices on everything including the drinks (try to find that anywhere else down the shore!) Again we love the staff, shout out to Chrissy who we met our very first time here and she has worked most nights we have been back so far. We have also had Chris and we can't say enough great things about either of them. The basics, TRY IT, you will LOVE IT. You will become a regular like we are becoming... Our thanks for the memorable meals, date nights and laughs. Licia & Rich Here are just a few pics for now...

The food was magnificent! The service was great. We sat outside and a nice September night. You must come and try. The food is outstanding. Reasonable prices.

It's well lubricated with plenty of Italian dressing and is always the started for our meal at Vic's. For an entry my wife had Baked cheese ravioli and a side of meatballs. The meal came with plenty of sauce with cheese on top. The side of meatballs came wit two meatballs of a generous size. What was more surprising was the cost of 2 meatballs was only $2.75. A real side bargain if you ask me. For my dinner I had the Seafood linguini. This was a plate of linguini with a pile of seafood on top. Fish, clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari in a spicy marinara sauce. The sauce was a bit thinner and saltier then typical but that's from what came out of all the sea food. And while they said it was spicy this was nothing to worry about as I didn't find it to the point where my wife wouldn't eat it. Service from Barbara was right on point as she had all the answers on menu questions and drinks were refilled in a timely manner. It was also wonderful that we got there before 5:00 pm and had a table in minutes unlike showing up at the same time in the summer. This is a very laid back restaurant with seating for couples, families and mega-families. Tonight we had a seat across from the bar and was forced to watch some football. Love this for a great Italian meal and you will never be disappointed once you suffer from a wait that might be longer then you had hoped!

We came, we saw, and my husband conquered :) A few things to note about Pete & Elda's..they don't take reservations. This is an incredibly popular spot, especially in the summer months, so if this is on your Jersey summer list..block out some time for this experience. They do offer to-go if time isn't of the essence, but I do feel like if you have the opportunity to have the full experience, take it. We've never done a food challenge before, but essentially the challenge is for (1) person, 30minute time frame, conquer a full pie, receive a t-shirt and of course, bragging rights. As we were seated, we noticed several other tables had at least one or more people taking the challenge, which was super fun to see and root on. Also in the parking lot there were people taking pictures with the iconic Pete & Elda's sign with their t-shirt and friends. The pizza is like a cracker-thin crust, super yummy and shareable for large groups. We had the cheese, and others at the table ordered sausage/onions, and pepperoni. We also ordered breaded mushrooms (an NJ shore classic) and zucchini sticks for the table, a Caesar salad, and macaroni and cheese for the kiddo. FYI, the macaroni and cheese was pretty fire! I've been eating a lot of kiddo meal leftovers on this trip, and this was a standout. I love the bar atmosphere of this place too, and learned you can actually also order "bar pies" at the (bar only). Great beer selection! There are other food classics on the menu as well if pizza isn't your thing like chicken parm, stuffed shells, veal, seafood, chowder soup(s), burgers, cheesesteaks, and more. All in all, my husband got the t-shirt, finished the challenge in 19 minutes, took the picture, and we all have fun memories of this day. This seems like a spot that holds a lot of memories for families coming to the Shore, and spending summers eating pie and enjoying tradition and celebration. Can't wait to do the same next summer :)

We came in a busy Saturday night this time so did have to wait, but the hostess was spot on with the quoted wait time. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon in June. The taproom felt spacious with natural light, and was well decorated with off-white walls and interesting plant decor. Definitely a relaxing and welcoming vibe. The place was decently crowded but not overwhelmingly so for most of our time there. We love dogs and they had a ton of dogs inside, so we were in heaven. 10 beers on tap, plus one seltzer, and a nice variety in the list. I liked that the list was broken down by types of beers (easy drinking and crisp, hoppy and hazy, dark and strong), and each beer had a detailed description next to it. This should honestly be the norm for breweries. We each had a flight so we were able to sample most of the menu. The beer was pretty good. We enjoyed all that we had, but nothing stood out to us as super memorable. We live on the other side of NJ, so we can't be regulars, but we would definitely stop by again the next time we're in the area.
