A good, honest mechanic is priceless. All of the reviews here on yelp are completely accurate: Sean is the real deal. I've been taking both mine and my girlfriends cars here for the last year and we've had a good experience every time. The first thing that impressed me was when I called to bring my car in, they were all booked up and I had to make an appointment for the next day. This is the sign of an excellent shop- they are in demand. Sean personally looks at your car and is very personable and easy to understand when he explains what the problem is. This is a man you can trust. Besides, their waiting room has some really cool Escher/Dali artwork (as opposed to posters of babes leaning against Ferrari's or something) and it has a very classy clean feel to it. The first time I took my car here he looked at it, called me to give me the estimate and had the work done within an hour. I brought my girlfriends car in not long after and when the work was done he noticed the wiper blades were worn out- replaced them at no charge. In fact, we just bought a Toyota and a big reason we chose it was because it meant we could still go to ICS. Bottom line Sean is an excellent, honest mechanic with ridiculously reasonable rates. Sean is the man! I drive a Chrysler Crossfire and work in the Auto Mall. Neither the Mercedes or the Chrysler dealership would touch my car. Sean took on the tough job, he was upfront, honest, highly intelligent and able to diagnose and repair the problem. The dealerships attempted to refer me to a Crossfire expert who said it would be a minimum of 1200 just for parts. After finding this place on Yelp Sean got the job done for almost half that. I took my Volvo S60 thinking my brake pads must be replaced. Although I didn't make appointment before, this place took my repair request. And its service doesn't end there. They inspected over a hour and test drove and reported that my brake pads still have 60% remaining. At the end of day, I was very impressed with their thorough courtesy inspection and honest recommendation that I can wait longer for brake pads replacement. Import Car Specialists told me no charge at all and declined my offer to bring some Starbucks coffee as my appreciation and feeling bad to waste their time. Found myself away from home with a gas smell and oil leak so brought my car into Import Car Specialists. They fixed what was causing the gas smell at a very reasonable price and they told me what was causing the oil leak but that it could wait until I got home to my regular mechanic. I am not affiliated to this shop in anyway. Just a regular person who was looking for an honest shop to fix my son's car. I read the reviews for this shop so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Stuff is very helpful and easy to work with. Best of all, the repairs were done faster than I expected, which was very helpful. It saved me on rental car costs. I think the repair costs were very reasonable too. They went the extra mile as far as looking for parts that were not that expensive. I am definitely coming back to have any other mechanical work done on my cars. I would give it a five star rating but I think there is always room for improvement for any business. read more

Looking at all the five star ratings for ICS you might get suspicious, but I'm here to tell you that Yelp should be required to add a 6th star just for Sean and his business. I've been a customer of his for years, hooked the first time I had repairs to be done and took a chance on him even though he was the low bid by far from three or four different repair shops I'd contacted. I figured I needed to save as much money as I could, and if things didn't work out the repairs should at least get me to the point where I could get them redone if necessary. It was not necessary. Since the first repair with him I have recommended everyone I hear of that has an import car to him, unreservedly and enthusiastically. Price is one thing, but it's meaningless without quality behind it. I have never, and I repeat NEVER had a problem with any of Sean's repairs. As the other reviewers write, he is patient, an excellent listener, he explains your situation to you only after he's done a thorough exam of your vehicle's issues, and when he explains it you feel almost as though you could go into the repair bay and do the work yourself with the information he provides. He has never surprised me with an unexpected repair after he quoted me the work, and he has in fact on more than one occasion done a couple extra things he refused to charge me for. Not replacing an engine for free of course, but little things other places would nickel and dime you to death over. Stop reading now and call Sean, because your search is over. p.s. Don't ever bring your car to a dealership again! Sean is the man! My BMW was reading a very difficult code and I'm sure had I brought it to the dealership I would have been walking out with a bill over 2k. But after checking, double checking and triple checking the issue, Sean was able to decipher what was really going on in my engine. He and his team are rockstars. Later on, he also went out of his way to review another problem my son was having (timing chain) on a busy Saturday. This place is amazing. Silver Star Lexus said I needed my cv boots replaced (one was leaking) and quoted me $500. Based on these YELP reviews I decided to try ICS. The reviews, to be honest, seemed too good to me. I was dead wrong. Sean quoted me prices over the phone. I don't remember the quote but he actually broke it down to whether he had to replace one or both boots. The quote was a lot less than Silver Star, even if he had to replace both. Took my car in and later got a call from Sean. He said the one boot was installed askew and it had slipped off a little, leaking. He checked the joint and it was fine. He said he thought he could repack it and try to refasten the band. If he couldn't use the old band he informed me the price of a new band and labor, a nominal charge. He asked if that was okay to try and if it worked, it would only be a 1/2 hour labor charge. I let him try and it worked! You can bet Silver Star would have just replaced both boots and charged me $500! Sean charged me well under $100!!! Believe it, the reviews are legit and I will NEVER go to a stupid dealer again! After several negative experiences at other shops and dealers in the area, I tried Sean's Import Car Specialists on a recommendation from a friend. In the three years I have been bringing my 2009 BMW here, I have had nothing but outstanding service and workmanship on the car. I even brought the car in on one occasion because it was telling me that the brake pads needing replacing. After an initial inspection, Sean and his team determined that this was actually down to a faulty sensor and the pads were fine. They reset the sensor and didn't charge me a penny. This is in stark contrast to a local dealer who had previously insisted that not only did my pads need changing but I would need to replace the rotors at the same time because the pads were so low. I trust Sean and his team implicitly and cannot recommend them highly enough. read more

Gave them three chances...and that is two more times than I usually give. That is how much I wanted them to show me that they care about their customers... we had a car that required some work, when we brought it in, Sean advised that they could not get the original parts and would have to do after market parts. We left without fixing the car and Sean said he would price it out and get back to us. He never called, so we called a few weeks later and were advised that he would call back... once again he never did... we went somewhere else... had to. We were very loyal to this place.
