Repairs that would cost thousands and never be done right elsewhere would be done here for hundreds and be done right. There's no BS, no hustling or hassle. They even go out of their way giving customers the occasional ride or other favors above and beyond normal service. Sean is amazing, and the most honest mechanic I've ever met in my life. I am so grateful to have found Sean & his Team. My sister and I both own Toyota's, and are true FANS of Sean & his excellent customer service. My sister found ICS on Yelp, and was thrilled with Sean's follow up & customer service. I took her there to pick up her car, and told Sean that I had a heater core issue that hadn't been properly fixed (after 3 attempts) from Enterprise Import Service, in Canoga. A few weeks later, I took my Celica into Sean and he FINALLY fixed my heater core - finally, the AC was working properly, and the heater core was properly responding to my hot/cold/warm adjustments. Previously, the air was coming out too hot or cold. This week, I took my car back in and gave Sean a shopping list of issues. He addressed each item and gave me referrals for the items he couldn't fix. I truly appreciate how he walks through each item and explains what the fix is, and if aftermarket or OEM parts are avail. We've been taking our cars here for several years now. My husband, who is very capable of doing quite a bit of the mechanical work himself (outside of the computerized elements these fancy new cars all have), is very skeptical of most mechanics. That being said, he feels very comfortable bringing our cars to Sean and the staff at Import Specialists. They lead with honesty and have excellent communication. Most recently I brought my 2015 Outback in for an exhaust leak. He gave me a couple options, one full replacement price, a less expensive fix. Shortly after, he called us again, having realized with the year of my car, it may be fully covered to be replaced by the dealership. He even went ahead and called the dealership a couple times to discuss it with them, for me. Sure enough, a full replacement was covered in full at the Subaru dealership, and I paid nothing out of pocket. That quick catch saved us close to $1500! I wouldn't really recommend these guys. After getting my car fixed there, my airbag light is always on and never shuts off. I went in twice and had to rent a car both times to get this problem that they created fixed and they just can't seem to fix it. I thought they repaired my brakes but a year later, I'm looking for a place to re-repair my brakes. Personally, I think they should have paid for my rental car at the very least after I had to go back in over and over again. I thought about giving them another chance but I just don't have time to keep going in if they don't fix it this time or they create a new unsolvable issue. read more

They're super friendly, knowledgeable and always have your best interests in mind. They break down exactly what is wrong with your car, how they gonna fix it, what it will cost and provide recommendations on what else should be serviced soon. I brought my car in today for them to change the battery on my Toyota Camry Hybrid. Turns out even the auxiliary battery for hybrids are expensive and I was trying not to spend too much money. The dealership quoted me around $80 to just install the battery, not to mention the $350 the battery costs. Sean first suggested he simply try to charge the battery to see if in fact it would hold a charge. I thought this was amazing because he could easily have just put in the new battery and charged me for labor. I liked that he suggested something that would have potentially saved me a ton of money. Turns out it needed a new battery and he quickly installed it and I was on my way. They seem very honest and as a new person to the area this is always key for me to find. I plan on coming back not only for my car, but for my wife's Nissan. read more

I am a professional shopper (I literally get paid to get bids for a wide variety of services). When it comes to ICS, I do not need to seek out competitive bids or get a second opinion. They are honest, trustworthy, and super friendly. Sean and JP have worked on my Audi A4, Audi S5, and an Acura RDX and I've been going to them for over 10 years after a recommendation from a colleague who brought his diesel Benz here for ages. If you take your vehicle to a dealer, you are sadly wasting you money (unless you like hundreds of dollars for a bottle of water, a muffin, a cup of coffee and a car wash). ICS has coffee and lounge with WiFi for you while you wait, but no car wash (there's one around the corner). They are really good about after hours vehicle drop offs too. I highly recommend this shop. We have been taking all our cars here for maintenance for many years. They are reasonably priced, do good work, and are honest. We recently took my wife's car into Range Rover dealer to get her sunroof repaired. It would no longer open. They looked at it and said it would cost over 2K to replace motor. The car is only 4 years old and we rarely used the sunroof. I told them forget the repair. They said they would leave the sunroof closed but told us to never open it because it would get stuck open. We went to Sean for a service maintenance and asked him if he would also take a look at the sunroof and give me an idea what it would cost to repair. He said would probably be an hour labor to take it apart to see what was wrong. He later called and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it as they opened and closed it many many times. He didn't charge us anything! He could have easily said we invested an hour of labor looking into this but they are very honest it was free. This and several other instances is why they are our mechanic. read more

I was in Thousand Oaks an hour away from home and got stuck. We looked on Yelp and found incredible reviews for this place. I thought no way is someone going all the way from Pasadena to this place. I now know I'm wrong. They were extremely helpful and way cheaper than I thought. I had many repairs which I thought would cost around $2000 considering one part was $475.00 he gave me half off labor and no labor for putting on the parts I already had. Explained everything thoroughly. So honest and fair. $811 was what Sean charged me. I will definitely be traveling to Thousand Oaks for all my repairs!! Great staff great price great service!!
