I was lucky enough to get the chance to see ImprovCity when I was attending a school event. I was initially not too excited since I did not know what to expect from this Improv, as I have never seen it before. But soon enough, my attitude changed as the show started. After the cast finished the first game, they managed to get me laughing so hard to the point that I was almost crying. And the laughter didn't stop there. I laughed so much that by the end of the show I came out of the room with a semi-sore throat; the whole performance was too funny! The "players" were really great and naturally funny. I also loved how each of them committed to playing every ridiculous character (especially the guy who spoke in a bunch of accents) that was thrown out from the crowd, as they did ask for a lot of input from the audience, and completed all the bizarre actions with the utmost enthusiasm. Watching them running through the games and skits was the highlight of my week as I haven't laughed as much as I did in a long while. Because of their amazing performance, I now have more interest in watching Improv and Comedy Shows in the future. So thank you to ImprovCity and I hope you all keep doing what you do best! read more

So funny, great price, and great fun! There's not a whole lot of stuff like this I irvine and I was a bit hesitant about the location above the bowling alley and in a conference room, but the show was a full of laughs and the setting was intimate and you could hear and see the performers perfectly. Also, $11 for a comedy show is great! Especially in Orange County which can be fairly pricey. If you're looking for a fun and inexpensive night out Improv City is the place to go! A very fun night! So thankful for CLEAN comedy!!!!!!!!!! Who needs to hear the f-word every five minutes? Or be "amused" by an off color joke or sexual reference? Blech. I haven't found another comedy club that provides clean comedy, and because of that alone, I'd say "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" The players seem to enjoy what they do as well. Each show varies, of course, based on who is on the team; however, each performance provided me with plenty of laughs and smiles. What an awesome hilarious show!! I've been lucky enough to see ImprovCity twice now and both performances were nonstop laughs throughout. Seriously, once the show starts you are laughing straight there until the end. My first visit was part of a date night and we had such a blast the second time we brought eight of your friends with us. It is a great, fun, interactive out of the box experience for a date and it makes a fantastic outing with friends. That's assuming your friends enjoy laughing, that is. But who doesn't like laughing? ImprovCity is a far superior option that the run of the mill stand up that costs over 40 bucks plus two drink minimum because best case is the each stand up is actually funny and stand ups are always hit or miss. Each comedien at Improv City is extremely talented and with at least two on the stage at a time, the laughs come at you a mile a minute. Thank you for another great night ImprovCity! ImprovCity is a lot of fun for the whole family! The comedy is edgy enough for adults yet absent of the language and innuendos you might not want your kids to see (or if you go with my mother who hates the bad language). The show I saw was hosted by Lee while Devon, Leana, Gina, James, Nida and Amie all performed and quite hilariously. The show is over an hour long, about 1 1/2, so it's worth the money and the drive even if you live in the Los Angeles area like I do. They perform in an intimate room so you're close to the action. It's also above a bowling alley so a waitress will come take your food and drink orders, but there's no annoying '2 drink minimum' or anything to force you to spend money. read more

My boyfriend told me had a surprise for me and it was tickets to this show. I was so excited because i love to laugh. I didn't know what to expect, when he told me its going to be a show inside a buliding. Bowling area bulding? And it was you just have to walk upside to the end of the bowling alley to get to Improv city. The cast were delightful, and i loved that each person that their own spunk. It brings a lot to the table with a diverse group. The games they played were sooo much and i love when they allowed the audience to get involved. I was very pleasantly surprised! Good laughs, audience gets involved, & enough comedians with different styles that you will definitely find one you jive with! Come early or stay late to bowl. Grab a beer and some bar food downstairs, or don't! Get involved as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Everything is really up to you, and I love that! Either way, it's a great experience and I guarantee you you will not be able to make it through the show without laughing and wanting more. $10 for a 1.5 hour show (another nice surprise! They don't serve alcohol, but you can go downstairs to the bowling alley and get a drink and bring it back up to the comedy show. read more

We have been coming to these shows for few years. Our kids enjoy it too. Our youngest was 7. The humor is always clean. These guys and girls are so much fun! No two shows are the same. Sometimes you get to be on stage! Kids 10 and under are free with paying adult. read more

I yelped date night ideas at Yelp and then this came up. I was intrigued by this crew and I wasn't disappointed. I didn't tell my wonderful wife what was planned--I paid and walked down this long hallway, and nobody was there in the room. I was like, oh crap!!! It's gonna be 90 minutes of torture!!!! But it was amazing!!! I forgot that there was an audience of three because they performed like there was 3,000 people there. I admire this group for being so professional and for their willingness to work according to the best of their abilities--despite the size of the crowd. I asked my wife to rate our date on a scale of 1-10 and she said it was a solid 8. She's very honest-- a trait I greatly appreciate. :). I will come back on another night because I heard there is much more to experience!!! It was also fun that we were able to bowl after the show!!! read more

I found out about this improv show by searching up date nights. I didn't know what to expect at all, a comedy show just above a bowling alley sounds awesome right? Heck yes! This was something different not your typical big box office show and dinner date. I wanted to keep things intimate yet fun and this show had the vibe I was looking for my date this evening. This place is amazing. Came here for my birthday and it was a lot of fun. They're open on Thursday Friday and Saturday. And for 10 dollars it's totally worth it. I normally go to Aces comedy club in murrieta but I think I'm going to start coming here now. And it's in a bowling alley. Who wouldn't want that? The comedians all had their own different personality, choice of voices, and levels of experience that made the show so much better. Worth every penny, perfect location, and loads of fun. Recommended for going with friends, on a date, or for someone looking for a good laugh. It's humor for the whole family but that doesn't stop it from being hilarious. I can't really write a review to describe the incredible, fantastic-ness that is this show and the cast! I went to my first show a few months ago with no expectations whatsoever. I remember walking out feeling like I had just done crunches at the gym and was crying from laughing so hard. I was hooked. The next time I met the owner, Devin, who was beyond courteous and welcoming. Every show is different, which makes this hidden gem so unique. The smaller, more intimate setting makes it even funnier. If you've never experienced live improv (which is totally different but in my opinion 10 x better than standup), then I highly recommend! read more

My best friend and I decided to do something new on one of our hangout sessions so we decided to check out ImprovCity. It is located on the second floor of the bowling alley next to Boomers. We bought tickets for $10/person. They offer free admission for high school students with valid student ID. We brought in outside food and they were okay with that. They also offered a stamp card where you can get a free show after going back so many times. The show started shortly after we were seated and it was quite a hit! I have to say that the music went along well with every scene of the show. The whole show is just a group of comedians and people that are good with ad libs and what not playing games that the host picks out of the hat. And audience participation is quite often. They will often take suggestions from the audience so don't be scared to shout out your suggestions. My best friend and I were shy so all our suggestions were unheard of. Honestly, I think each show is unique and the funny factor varies based on the suggestions by the audience. If you are creative and give funny suggestions to the actors/comedians, then they will put on a good show for you. But if you give weird suggestions or boring ones, then obviously, it's hard for them to work with to make it funny. Overall, I think it was a good experience to check out. It was my first improv show and I am really glad my best friend dragged me out to go check it out. read more

Went to their family friendly early show for a Meetup for teens on the spectrum and was impressed with the format and class of the performers. I don't think they knew about the spectrum identified kiddos in the group when my daughter was chosen as a volunteer and when it became obvious during her turn, like true professionals, they improvised! It was wonderful! Everyone in the audience was laughing and having a great time throughout and my family is still giggling and quoting lines from the show. I don't usually write yelp reviews but I do use them when deciding on restaurants and new things to do. Here is an example of being totally bamboozled and misled by a listing. I went to this 'comedy' show with a friend the other night. Maybe it should have been a red flag that it took place in a conference room inside the bowling alley. But on yelp it got tons of good reviews... Very fishy. You can bring a drink purchased downstairs in the bowling alley lounge and carry it upstairs with you. Too bad there aren't any tables in the conference room. When my beer was gone, I had to put my glass on the floor by my feet. Annoying. The talent seemed to me like a group of improv enthusiasts getting in some practice in front of real people. Nice people, but really really green. I love the fact that they're practicing their craft, but it needs to be billed that way. Asking people to pay $10 for the sort of show we saw seems like outright robbery. We took our two sons (ages 11 and 13) to a Friday night 7 pm show. They liked it a lot. The humor for this show is more family oriented - and frankly a bit mild for my personal tastes but appropriate for families. The price is definitely right. The performers are generally very good but keep in mind they are not pros and some were definitely funnier than others. I'd rate this 4.5 stars if I had the option. What a fun and different date night! I love improv shows like this along the 'who's line is it anyway' lines. They get the audience involved and it's so entertaining and funny to watch the talent come up with stuff right then and there. I've been twice, once just my girlfriend and I and once with about 5 other people. Everyone that has gone with me loves it and we are making plans to go back. The show involves the audience a lot so every show is different and every show is fun. $10 admission, a waitress will bring cheap drinks from the bowling alley that is adjacent, it really is a lot of fun. It is a clean show (sometimes there will be kids there, sometimes not), and I honestly like dirty comedy, but the show is so fun because you are involved in it and the cast is very good. read more
