This place has the best milk shakes, burgers, and fries for a fast food restaurant that I can think of. The service is quick with a drive thru that always seems to get the order perfect and is able to anticipate the needs like certain condiments or specific questions to ask. I will definitely go back there for a late night burger or a quick meal because I am never disappointed. I would say the prices are average, probably a little bit more expensive than whataburger or wendy's, but well worth it. read more

The great news is that In N Out burger is making its way east, the bad news is that they are not quite to North Carolina yet. A guy can still dream though. I will say that this In N Out experience had a slightly different feel than the west coast, but food was still awesome and up to the usual standards that I have become accustomed to from In No Out. The only negative is that you pretty much have to be an in and out insider to know all the special ways you can order your burger and fries. We don't have a location in my state so while traveling through Plano I had to see what the hype was about. It was around midnight when I ordered with a fairly long line which was expected. The burger I ordered was a little cold and tasted ok. The fries were nice and hot but I didn't enjoy the taste. However I went with several people who loved the fries. The vanilla milkshake I ordered was sweet and delicious. I will stick with SmashBurger from now on as far as chains. For the price and service I think it's worth a go! read more

We've heard so much about In-n-Out Burger and thought we'd have to go to CA to try one -- was thrilled to find them in TX. Stopped for lunch on our way out of town and was not disappointed. They have a limited menu -- no chicken, no fish, just burgers. I had the single cheeseburger and fries. Husband had the single burger and fries. We both enjoyed our food. I'm usually not a fan of fast food especially because there aren't many vegetarian options, but In-N-Out is delicious. The vegetarian option is the grilled cheese! It's basically the same thing as their burgers just without the patty. And it is delicious. If you like their spread, get it animal style!! For a fastfood place, this was not that bad. Menu is small, so it limits mistakes. Staff was friendly and was in proper attire, not sloppy. Restaurant was well-lit and had plenty of windows to watch the kitchen make the food. Kitchen was clean. Not much else to say about a quick eats burger place other than the food. Friends have boasted about this place for years, so I decided to try an IN & OUT. Burger was not bad, but I will try animal style next time. I sat at the window for almost ten minutes before getting my food. They kept coming back to the window asking me if I wanted ketchup (3 to 4 times). Simple menu with an average burger that you crave once in a while. From a native Texan's perspective they are pretty small. The fries are not that great, but if you do get them I recommend eating them first(not during or after) but before the burger because the longer they just sit the more cardboardy they taste. Also I recommend getting the spicy little peppers they got. Bite one open and squeeze it onto your ketchup or mouth while you eat your burger or fries and it makes it 3 times better, you won't regret it. I went to In N Out because I was craving their burgers last night. I ordered two burgers for my friend and I. Unfortunately, my burger had a long strand of hair in it and it got stuck on the back of my throat while eating. How disgusting is that? - I literally had to pull out someone's hair from my mouth. New to Texas and first time trying In N Out Burger. I heard about it online, social media. I was not impressed. I ordered the #3, the hamburger combo. I really wanted to try the special sauce. It was very basic. Nothing special about the hamburger or fries. Not sure what the hype is about. I guess if it's late and you're hungry it would be the place to go as they are open until 1:30a I think. I would rather have a burger from Sonic or WhatABurger. In N Out is one of the best managed fast food chains in the DFW area. I want to say that this is a good location but I can't remember ever visiting one that wasn't. If you've never had them, here's the concept: it's a 50s style just the basics burger place with all fresh quality ingredients. If you could time travel a few decades back and visit McDonald's, it's like that. The burgers are have thin patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. That's it. No mushrooms or bacon or fried eggs or anything exotic. You can get the onions raw or grilled. The French fries are cut fresh in house and the potato flavor is good but they're not quite crisp enough unless you ask for well done and they're never as good as McDonald's fries. They have Coke products, lemonade, and three flavors of shakes. The shakes are made with real ice cream and taste great but aren't frozen thick enough for my liking. There's a secret menu that isn't secret at all. The animal style burger is worth trying but I just can't get down with that much thousand island glopped on animal fries. The real thing to know is about this place is for basic fast food cheeseburgers, the balance is just perfect. And they are solidly consistent. Great every time. read more

Probably my best In-N-Out experience in terms of wait time for food. Arrived around 11:30 on a Thursday and had no wait in line. That part is not unique. The part that was unique was that the food didn't take 15 minutes after that. Two of us ordered separately, and somebody clearly noticed that we were together because they called our orders as complete at the same time maybe 5 minutes after we ordered. Burger (Double Double Animal style) was typically excellent. Fries were well salted but had a very cardboard/waxy texture to them. I need to quit expecting the fries to not be like that I guess. I grew up in Southern California in the 80s, In-N-Out was a big part of my youth. I remember the fries were kinda dirty looking because fresh cut fries get a brown tinge, unlike treated or frozen fries that are processed to stay yellow. Man those fries were good. The hamburger, they'd make the patty right there the old fashioned way - grab a bunch of ground meat with your hand and shape it! They always asked - do you want your onions grilled or fresh? They were nothing but a drive-through booth! In-N-Out was description, not just a name! Delicious, fresh, all American no frills burgers. So, I've been putting off coming to In-N-Out when it finally arrived in Texas - one, there was so much hype the lines were always ridiculous, and two - I was scared that it had changed, and it would mire my childhood memories. When I finally tried it, I found to my disappointment I was correct on both counts. The place looked so...franchised? Glitzed? Chained? Nothing In-N-Out, it wanted to keep you there. That's wrong. Dine in? WRONG. That large building could not be mistaken for a booth type dedicated drive-thru. And then, while I did NOT have much of a line (two cars in front of me) - it took forever! There was no assembly line focused precision that I remembered. I could see through the window someone was prepping the potatoes - a mass amount of them. Um, I remember they sliced the potato moments before serving to you in the past. That might explain why they were a perfect golden yellow with nary a stain - so, not fresh cut, dirty potatoes. The fries had an off taste - pasty? NOT crispy. Maybe the oil wasn't hot enough, maybe they weren't in the frier long enough, but they were awful. I said a burger with everything - they asked if I wanted onions, I said yes. But I guess they no longer ask you fresh or grilled. The burger was ok, but the onion was overwhelming - a full, thick non-pulled apart slice of onion. I had to strip out about half of the ring circles so I could taste burger and not just a mouthful of onion. I won't go back. I'll hold onto my memories. read more
