I was really hoping this was going to be a wonderful place due to the proximity to my house unfortunately it wasn't. I ordered Ají de Gallina. The Ají de Gallina was not good at all, the chicken was chopped in very small pieces and it didn't have a good flavor. I won't go back! The lady who served us was really nice so this review is strictly for the food.

We enjoyed an excellent meal. Both of our dishes came out piping hot. My husband's fish was light and crispy. My chow mein was very flavorful and the portion was large. I brought home leftovers.

Truly authentic Peruvian food. Delicious and an absolute must-try! We will be back to try the rest of the menu over the coming weeks.

Interesting experience. Don't know if I'll be back to this particular Peruvian restaurant as I have yet to try the many others. I'm definitely impressed by their offerings and service. I was particularly interested in their ceviche and it did not disappoint.

Learned this place recently opened so we went to give it a try and we were quite happy with the food. It's attached to a small little gift shop and grocery store. Everything on the menu was available to buy, spice wise it seems, at the store next door. They have a menu but also a QR code to their online menu with photos. They also have a QR code to pay through your phone and use Apple Pay to make it easy. We really enjoyed their food and will be back to try other things on the menu.

I don't remember the name of the dish.

Minutes after eating my food I went straight to the bathroom with a loose stomach. Maybe the chicken wasn't cooked all the way. Be careful and check your food.

My husband & i were getting our flat tire fixed & came across this super cute store where they sell peruvian ingredients on the other side connecting, is their cafe! My husband had the Lomo saltado-beef & it was delicious.! Very clean and great ambiance! The owner was present greeting everyone which was amazing to see! The chef in the kitchen is Peruvian also.! We had an amazing time here and we are so blessed to have come across this place! It is a must try!

Terrible food and even worse service. If I could give them -10 stars, I would! We were on a family road trip, and after driving for 3 hours, we decided to stop at the first Peruvian restaurant we crossed paths with. Unfortunately, it was the worst mistake. The food was awful:The Tallarín Saltado: The noodles were completely overcooked, mushy, and tasteless. The Papa a la Huancaína: The potatoes were hard as rocks, and the Huancaína sauce had absolutely no flavor. We politely and respectfully informed the waiter about the food. He kindly offered to either change the dishes or give us a refund. We asked to switch to "tallarines verdes," but the waiter himself warned us it would be the exact same issue since they used the same overcooked noodles. So, we asked for a refund for just those two dishes, making it clear we would pay for the rest. Two minutes later, the owner started arguing loudly with the waiter, saying he wouldn't refund anything. He then approached our table and was incredibly disrespectful to us. I was with my family, and my two young daughters were terrified by the owner's aggressive behavior. The situation got so bad that we had to call the police, though they told us they couldn't do anything about a financial dispute. In the end, we spent about $120, and out of the 5 dishes we ordered, we only ate the ceviche. My daughters went hungry because I had to get them out of that place immediately. This restaurant serves anything but authentic Peruvian food. Do not eat here!

My first time trying Peruvian food and wow!!…read more The Lomo Saltado was so tender and flavorful. The fried fish tacos were perfectly battered and fried, I liked the onions on top as it helps cut through the friedness of it all. Yucca fries were delish, dip it in the green sauce and it's perfection. The ceviche was fresh and bright. Love the citrusy sauce at the bottom, yum! The corn is not like the regular corn we have at the grocery store. It has a bit more bite to it in terms of texture like it's not soft. Passion fruit juice was absolutely needed after all day on the beach. The cake has swirls of dulce de leche, very tasty. I would come back just for the lomo saltado alone! Service was friendly and fast. They have a few tables inside and a few outside. Right on the Venice boardwalk so if you dine outside, you also get a show with your meal.

The location turned out to be El Huarique Peruvian Kitchen! What a delicious find that turns up the flavor and definitely the heat! Be careful what you ask for! Haha! Fish Ceviche | Yes, please! Now, at first bite, for some odd reason, I thought the dish was going to be hot, but it was cold and absolutely delicious! Taking our server Mauricio's advice, I tried each item separately on my plate and then mixed it up... Yummy! New flavors had my taste buds doing a happy dance over and over again! Haha! I would absolutely 100% get this dish again! The flavors were electric once combined! Turn up the Heat | Our server Mauricio asked my spice level and I confidently said spicy! He asked if I was sure and I told him the story about me being in India, requesting a spicier version of a dish & the Chef coming out to take a look at me, because he couldn't believe I wanted spicier! Haha! Comedy Hour | I was enjoying every flavorful bite of the Fish Ceviche, when all of a sudden my body started to heat up! I was like, I can handle a bit of spice... And then suddenly my tongue got really warm and I could hardly feel it... Then my eyes started to water... And suddenly I lost focus in the conversation I was having with my friend & the traveler! I could hardly talk, because it was honestly that spicy! Haha! I bet it was also the sneaky little red onions, in addition to the other spices! Help, Please | I spotted Mauricio and asked him if he had any bread or yogurt, because my mouth was on fire! He didn't! He recommended water, which I had already tried! My friend, she recommended plantains, which I had also tried! The traveler ended up recommending the lettuce on my plate, which ended up helping for sure! After a while, my mouth started to cool down, thank goodness! Eye Spot Spice | Just when my mouth started to cool down, my friend accidentally touched her eye, which must have had spice on it! The girl at the next table, dining with her significant other, immediately came to her rescue! I asked our server Mauricio for a cup of water so she could flush out her eye! The girl at the next table told her to rub her eye with her hair... Which oddly helped! Plantains | I can always appreciate plantains, as I love them! They arrived at our table and quite plentiful! I appreciated that the flavor was just the right amount of sweet and savory... Perfect! As conversation flowed easily between me, my friend, and the traveler! I invited him to enjoy the plantains with us, which he did! Fried Rice | My friend, ordered this dish and invited me to share it with her! OMG! I highly recommend, so flavorful and definitely shareable! I happily enjoyed every bite that I put onto my plate! Customer Service | Mauricio was top-tier! He was patient, kind and so much fun to explore the menu with! He really wanted us to have the Peruvian experience, considering it was both me and my friends first time having Peruvian food... as far as I know! Seating | Both inside and outside! We sat on the outside patio! Happy Meeting | While waiting for my friend to arrive at the restaurant, a friendly worldwide traveler, who was currently in town, helped me with the menu! Though his meal included chicken, a dish he frequently orders when he's in town, he invited me to explore the veggie part of the menu and mentioned that the food was really good here! Something made me trust his recommendation and I'm glad I did! We had fun chatting with the friendly traveler! Overall | Oh my goodness! Hahaha! Between the flavorful Fish Ceviche that was too hot to handle, sweet and savory Plantains, the customer service via Mauricio, an extension of me and my friends spa day, & other friendly customers, made for a memorable evening! I'm excited to do it again, definitely turning down the spice level and exploring more of the menu! Thanks again, Mauricio & the friendly traveler! We shall all meet again! Let's go!!

It's been around for over 20 years and is currently in a newer space than it was before; featuring more parking and a larger space. Ambiance: The interior has a relaxed feel with beachy surfer themed decor. It has a clean modern feel with a bunch of tables featuring accent colored chairs. There is music in the background and a TV on the wall featuring surfing videos. Service: You order at the counter, they ring you up and you get the food brought out. You can see the kitchen as it's open. It was my first time and it was a simple and easy experience. Everything came out in a timely fashion. Food: Some of their specialities include the 20+variations of fried empanadas (meats, chicken, pork, veggie, dessert) that come in both savory and sweet types, as well as their speciality plates such as their Korean-style flat iron steak skewers and chicken satay. The sauces they serve with their empanadas are incredible and some of the best I've ever had such as their chimmi-churri, basil-aioli and sweet & sour Thai. I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink. I chose beef and Kailua pig empanadas; both were great, empanadas didn't break apart and were crispy, everything was seasoned well; the filling of the beef was a bit more than the Kailua pig however. Drinks: They have various drinks such as lemonade, juices, sodas/soft drinks, and some beers on tap. Parking: The lot is large and has ample parking depending on the day and time. Prices: Prices are to the times that we're in...so not too great. Ala carte empanadas are $5+ but as you order more (4, 12) the prices come down a slight bit.
