The place is a little Indian market and a restaurant at the same time. FANTASTIC Punjabi food. They used to be vegetarian only but by customer demand they now have meat dishes as well. Naan comes out fresh, made to order, and they also have a wide array of desserts, including several barfi flavors and the best gulab jamun. We love South Asian food and we were excited to find this place ..... especially with such good Yelp reviews. We tried the chicken biryani and found it disappointing. It was very greasy. We also didn't care for the yogurt sauce. It was too sweet. Based on this experience, we won't be back. We found it doesnt live up to the reviews, not even close. after passing by a few time in the pass, i finally went to india fresh. this place is a small market & a small indian food joint. the place is the average size a any liquor store. i was unsure of this place, its sort of a culture shock. but like its said, beneath the surface is a business that is family operated & its shown by the way the small children wave @ you. the food displayed is not, in the slightest way americanized. in my opinion, purely authentic; curry vegetables, ginger sweets & rice that taste like flower pedels. its a neat place to stop by, & they do have a hidden menu i didnt get to experience. although, india fresh can make improvement, i say, if youre brave, you should experience it. read more

I love this place! At first I was a little taken aback because the place is an Indian market with a little food stand set-up in the back. Once I tried the food I was hooked! The naan is made fresh to order and the menu rotates every day. Wednesdays are my favorite because of the delicious paneer tika masala. The combo to go is a great deal; about $7 for perfectly cooked jasmine rice, your choice of 2 of the vegetable dishes of the day (they have about 6 to choose from daily), garlic naan, and raita. Came because of other Yelp ratings. Arrived and saw it was a vegetarian Indian food. Hmmm! Wanted some chicken dish. Walked in, was greeted with a smile, asked if any chance there are meat dishes. "No meat dishes, but I will guarantee you will like!" Was given a sample of the assorted dishes and HUBBA HUBBA this food rocked! Thought I was not going to get full and I was! This places ROCKS! After reading the reviews on Yelp, I had to check this place out. I'm a HUGE fan of Indian food, and this place has some of the best I've had. Even if you're not a vegetarian (sorry, no meat here, fellow carnivores), you'll still like something here if you like Indian food. The place is located in a small little market, so if you're looking for some ingredients to cook Indian food while you're eating Indian food (XZibit, anyone?), than this is a great place to go to. The guy who helped me was super nice and helpful (didn't get his name, but he had a long beard and was wearing a headress). He let me try a little of everything they had, which was really nice, but made it difficult to decide because it all tasted so good! I opted to go for the 2 entree plate, which comes with rice, raita, and naan for a grand total of....wait for it....7 bucks. You read that right, only 7 bucks for what felt like 3 pounds of delicious goodness. You can't even get a curry for that price at most other Indian places. If I ever find myself in the area again (or if I ever get a craving for Indian), I will for sure be back. read more

The food here was okay. We had the two item meat combo. The lamb and chicken curry was decent and did leave me with a heavy food coma feeling. The rice was pretty terribad. Bland and tasteless (and if you know me, I LOVEEEE rice) so that was sort of a let down as I usually love basmanti rice. THe saving grace was the garlic naan! My boyfriend and I looove Indian food so we decided to try this place for dinner. They have vegetarian friendly options as well as meat options for the meat lovers. They have 6 vegetarian options and 2 meat options for combos. Tonight they had goat and chicken as meat options. I ordered the potato and cauliflower as well as the lentils with rice. They were all delicious!! I especially enjoyed the huge garlic naan. The owner (I'm assuming) is also incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning as it has replaced our go to Diamond Bar spot. read more

This place was so very bland. I had the curry and the dal. So sad...good thing it is a grocery store too so I picked up supplies to make my own Indian food. The fact that it's a relatively cheap grocery store is the only reason it got two stars. BTW the garlic naan was not buttery nor garlicky enough. Just because it was roasted on a fire doesn't make up for the lack of flavor. Seriously...try Bhanu market in San Gabriel. It will blow your mind. And they have meat selections! read more

This was an absolute treat! There aren't a ton of vegan options in this neighborhood, 4 out of 6 dishes were vegan here. And absolutely delicious. The clerk behind the counter was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the food and products offered and was very welcoming and warm when answering all of our questions. The store is full of awesome and interesting foods, tools and ingredients. I could have spent hours in there! Not one part of our visit to India Fresh was undesirable! It's hard to find a place where ALL of their food is good. And so far everything I've tried from their hot food is excellent. It is also a market and I recommend picking up some Jelly( especially the mixed fruit with banana). I put that s*** on everything like Greek yogurt, yum. And the owner is the best. This place is great! Little kitchen in the back of this supermarket/restaurant. They have about 6 side dishes to pair up with your jasmine rice and raita sauce. This place is fantastic. My boss and I would get lunch here at least once a week during my summer internship in Covina. They have six vegetarian options and two meat options every day in their "cafeteria" section. We would always get two options served with white rice and a side of naan bread (they also serve yogurt if you choose). I LOVE every eggplant dish, the vegetable dumplings, the jackfruit medley, and the squash combinations. If you can't identify a dish, just ask -- they'll happily explain it for you. I live in San Diego now and seriously miss this food. It's on my top 5 list of great vegetarian restaurants! Keep up the good work India Fresh! read more

Went here for the fresh food. It was delicious. I was still full from an earlier meal, but my wife got the tandoor meal. It's a ton of food at a really good price. The owner still gave me a little sample of rice with each different item on top so I could try. I regret not being hungry on this visit and will definitely come back many times. The set up is a bit weird and disorganised. It's a store and also a restaurant. However, don't let it dissuade you. The Indian food is AMAZING ! The food is fresh, delicious and REALLY cheap. Also, the service is excellent. The people are so friendly. As a plus, I bought an Indian overnight hair oil that leaves my hair sooo soft. I'm so glad I didn't judge a book by its cover.
