We loved talking with the owners, and the hamburgers were delicious. Be aware that right now, with the roadworks, it's confusing on how to get in. But we did it. The ambiance is not like a tasting room for a winery (my assumption) but more like a diner. The enormous sycamore tree on the small deck was a delight to sit by. Very sweet family. read more

Stopped here on a family trip to universal. I had to stop and eat at a restaurant that had perfect 5 star reviews across the board. Its unheard of lol! But It's all true! The owners are great! Food is great! The burger was excellent and the surf and turf burrito is an absolute home run!!!!! The wings are good but the sauce comes on the side which is fine bc you get the option to try different ones but I prefer it cooked on a little. I wish I had a stomach big enough to try the baskets too but I did get to eat the fries by themselves and they are also delish! Fortunately there's always a next time:) Their guacamole is awesome, But real quick back to the surf and turf burrito!! Just wowza!! I get what the hype is all about. Wish we could've tried this place. Came at 11:30am on a Sunday and doors were locked and nobody inside. Called the restaurant and voicemail said updated hours were 11:30am-8:30pm except Tuesdays. Not sure why nobody was there. They should leave a note or something on the door if they were scheduled to be closed- definitely recommend calling before you go as the posted hours online may not be accurate. read more

Such a hidden gem in Bishop!! We stopped for lunch and had the shrimp ceviche-- so fresh and flavorful! Just what we needed! The burger specials also sounded amazing. We'll definitely be back next time we're passing through Bishop. The owner was friendly and gave great service-- you can tell he cares about his customer and cares about his food. Our young daughter opted to order just chips and salsa, and after he brought it out he asked if she wanted him to make her a little quesadilla too. (So sweet and she loved it!) Before we left he asked if we had 2 more minutes to spare, the he went in the back and made us some fresh quesadillas with caramel sauce to take with us! Super good food and service! Had the caliente burger with added mushrooms, wings with garlic rub and mango habanero and bourbon dipping sauces, and the brown ale on tap. The chips and habanero salsa they start you off with might be the best I've had. Very fresh tasting with a good crunch from the chips and great flavor balance in the salsa. Wings were cracking. Good crispy fry and went well with the sauces. Burger was even better imo. Mushrooms were nailed. Only things I would have changed are de-stemming the jalapeños fully before putting it in the burger and the fries could have gone a minute longer but even with these small flaws still a dope meal. It's been a minute since my visits to Bishop have coincided with Fidel's hours! But today, I was blessed. Great lunch with my daughter @ Indiego. We both had burgers, cooked to perfection & preferences. A burger here is a lot of food. The Parmesan fries are to die for! All fresh & the love it is cooked with shines through. Super affordable. It was fairly empty when I picked up food and it likely had to do with the highway construction out front. But please give this place more business. Burger was cooked to order at medium and was wonderful with fries! The turkey club was amazing! So often you get lunch meat because it is cheaper, this was thick cut turkey breast! For being a part time resident of bishop, I'm sad I didn't come here earlier, but I'm glad I did now! I loved that they could make me a custom veggie quesadilla with tomato and jalapeño. You won't go hungry with the portions. The habanero salsa is hella good, almost so I could eat it by itself! They have a good assortment of burgers, wings, and salads. They have beer with a few local brews on draft. Vibe is laid back with some buzzy house playing overhead. But my favorite part were the guys who run the joint- so accommodating, sweet and friendly! Today there was two people working for lunch, and only one could take orders, make the food and cash people out. The other person was helpful, refilling drinks and grabbing silverware. We came here after backpacking cause it has outdoor seating where we could have my pup with us. Right off the bat, the outdoor tables were cleaned, we were brought ice cold water and a bowl of ice water for my pup. We were given menus, and told the specials. We opted for the burger specials and glad we did! I noticed later that the burgers were grilled on an old school coal grill outside. That's what gives it that good flavor. The habanero jam on it was just right on the heat and sweet. We came back the next day and got different burgers cause they were so good. We got side salads and the mix of greens, sweet onions, tomatoes and cucumbers cut in small pieces were refreshing. A mistake was made on my order, but they graciously fixed it and opted not to charge me. I wouldn't have had an issue paying, since, they caught the mistake and fixed it, but had an extra patty missing. They really went out of their way to do right. My pup was also happy cause they gave her ice water and bacon slices. Definitely recommend to stop by for a real coal grilled burger and hospitality that's beyond what we get these days! read more
