We came for happy hour on a Thursday, the place was quiet but we got to sit right by the huge windows with an amazing view and watch a storm rolling through, along with a couple of sea lions. I have dined at several establishments in this area that were recommended by foodies, none have compared to this new tapas bar. The staff is dedicated, professional, and friendly. The decor hits it's mark with an interesting blend of 1950's-60's Era lounge kitsch and piracy while the cocktails and infused liquors hearken back to the Golden Age of mixed drinks. Food prices and drink prices are quite reasonable; furthermore, the owner has enough confidence in his culinary staff to simply leave salt and pepper off the tables entirely. This lounge makes excellent drinks. They are pricey but so worth it. We got a giant Bloody Mary with all of the fixins in it and a really fantastic rosemary lemon drop martini. I would go back again and again for that martini! Also, this is truly a lounge as the name suggests. Dim lighting, sexy, older music (at least when we went). This place is great! The vibe is unique, but still has an Astoria feel. My husband and I talked to the owner and he's been a bartender in town for years. He succeeded in creating a brat pack Vegas meets Astoria. The view is amazing and so are the drinks. read more

I read a lot of positive things about the different macaronis, but my husband and I were both really unimpressed. Everything else we had was decent, but nothing special. Service was amazing, drinks were amazing - between the 4 of us we had the red vine vodka drink, the peanut butter martini, their version of a dark stormy, some hot drink I don't remember the name of but next time I am sick I might have to drive all the way to Astoria to get it, and a few others but I don't recall. Personally my favorite was the red vine drink and their version of the dark and stormy. I loved the decor and the music, kind of made me feel like I was in New Orleans. Best thing about this place: the staff. Our waiter was superb. Being on the beautiful water didn't hurt either. Unfortunately the food wasn't out of this world. My wife and I loved this place, and we ended up there by accident. First we went to the Rouge Public House and it was disappointing to say the least, Fort George had a line out the door so we decided to try out the Inferno Lounge. I was extremely impressed by the amount of care this staff puts into each dish and drink. Their infused spirits are incredible, they even gave me a sample flight for free. Their food is amazing, and from the sausage on the pizza to the pepper flakes you sprinkle on it, it's all made in house. The manager took the time to come out and thank us for coming. The Inferno was the best dining experience we have had in Astoria, and in general. We won't be wasting our time with Rouge or Fort George again, if you want amazing food and drinks with high quality and great customer service, go to Inferno. read more

Astoria was an overnight stop during our business / leisure roadtrip trip from San Francisco to Seattle. We arrived late in the night and were in search of late night grubs and drinks to unwind. We were pleasantly surprised with the ambience, the look, the vibe and the layout of the lounge. I dig the gourmet food options and I highly the recommend the shrimp tacos. Rat Pack Vibe with a water view. we found Inferno quite by accident. At first glance the sign announcing " open til 2:00 AM caused us to think grungy dance club. but the door was open and a peak inside said " our kind of place". Reminiscent of night clubs in Vegas Inferno has a classic feel. Dark wood, red accents, small tables , beautiful back bar, a few circular booths and Sinatra playing. We opted for pre dinner cocktails as we had a previously made dinner reservation. There were several unique infused cocktails...a great lemon drop among them. Martinis served up, large and perfect...and a very nice Bourbon Manhattan. Prices are reasonable, about $8 each for these drinks.
