Overpriced. Plain and simple. With the cost of food today- it's about value. Ordered a tuna salad bagel midway through asking to add a piece of cheese. $1.89 for one slice of cheese? That equaled 15% of the cost of the bagel and that's absurd. On top of that, I got a "whisper" of bland tuna salad- no value for the price. I've been here a few times now and my suggestion is stick to the breakfast menu but be warned they burn their bagels -a lot. No quality control here. It's a very popular place and the bagels are decent (so hard to find good bagels in SD) as is the cream cheese and lox but their sandwiches are not worth the price- no value and overpriced. I wanted to try the pastrami sandwich but not at $18! I'm not interested in a half pound (for $18 anyway) can you make a lighter version with a lighter cost? I get that this is a specialty meat but $18?? I want to like this place but most often feel ripped off with no value for what I pay for. With inflation I know costs are high but almost $2 for a slice of cheese? C'mon. Inflation is killing all of us- if you are going to charge those prices make it worth our while. If you want to try this place get the bagels and toast them at home. Unless you like burned bagels. read more

Ordered breakfast bagels after a friend raved about this place while we were visiting. We ordered online and waited only a short period of time to pick up our order when we got there. The bagels were big, fluffy and fresh. I was so excited to see sundried tomato cream cheese on the menu, and was not let down when i dug in to my bagel. The bacon on my sandwich was perfectly crisp. Second time went here just to give it another chance. The first time the service was slow and took a bit to get my bagel which is why I have not been in a rush to come back. 2nd time with nobody there nothing has changed. The vibe not very friendly and my experience felt like I walked into a fraternity. The music, lackadaisical effort, let's just say it seems like this place operates for the workers and their friends. The bagels once you actually get them are good..... They're fine. But the wait? The service? Not worth it. They hardly even look up so you have no chance to ask anyone anything. We have ordered a couple times and honestly on a Saturday Sunday.... Ordering online, we were stuck waiting an HOUR for plain bagels with cream cheese. The first time we came, they also made a mistake on our order and were like "well..... Is it OK or do you need us to change it?" Well, it wasn't what we ordered? I figured maybe it's the fluke, they were super busy....we will give them another chance..... second trip, worse than the first. Rude service. Literally 50+ minutes to get 1 sandwich and 4 plain bagels with CC. Idk why they also prioritize walk ins over online orders since you would think that would help cut down on the line outside but it's actually wild. I think that they like to move slow so they can look really busy so people think it's really good but 1000000% not worth the hype. I asked the girl working this am for a plain bagel with veggie cream cheese and a sausage patty on it and very lightly toasted I got home to eat it , I only live two blocks away. My bagel came out extra toasted to where it was so crusty it was brown and falling apart, my sausage patty was very cold. So she didn't cook the sausage which is odd and the bagel was not eatable. Love their branding. We've been to Notorious Burgers. Now this one and it's so fun to see they are coming up with a pizza extension. I saw someone post these bagels on IG so we thought to try them. FOOD Everything bagel w jalapeño and cream cheese - This was a solid bagel. Gave you the heat you needed but also had the cream cheese to cook it down. #2 - I probably would have liked the bacon to be a little more crisp but it was fine. This bagel shop will not disappoint but be ready to wait up to 20 minutes for your order. It was 10am on a Sunday morning and this first thing positive I noticed was it appeared to be a favorite for Carlsbad law enforcement. Good omen in my opinion. We order a sesame bagel with scrambled egg & bacon and a second was a #6 with cream cheese, lox, onion & tomato on everything bagel. Taste of both excellent and really nicely toasted. Loads of other choices on bagels. I am originally from NY and they wish to copy NY tasting bagels they need to make them a bit thicker to match them. My everything bagel had loads of seasonings on top . I also had a Mayan Mocha which great. No seating inside but there are public tables outside which we were very lucky to grab one. All in all it was a great breakfast but the wait I thought was long as I had almost finished my Mocha by the time the bagel order came out. Might be different on weekday so may try again? read more

The best bagels that I've had in a really long time. The service is excellent and the kids who work there are always professional. They tend to get very busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes to get your order if you are getting a sandwich. I just bought half a dozen bagels and froze some of them. Great name, great menu. They have good bagels and really nice bagel sandwiches. Call it a 4.5 but I'm rounding up. We tried a chocolate bagel with Nutella added (because why not?), a Shlemiel (egg, bacon, cheese, tomato, aioli on a bagel), and a Naches (lox, chive creamed cheese, tomato, lettuce, red onion, and capers). In Yiddish, a shlemiel is an unlucky person and naches means joy or love. All of the bagel sandwich creations have Yiddish names--I had to look up their meanings. The Shlemiel and the Naches were both very good and very filling. You're not going to leave hungry. The Naches is a sloppy mess, in a good way, and I'd only suggest losing the lettuce. It's weird and not necessary. But otherwise, the lox was fresh and everything tasted great. No complaints about the chocolate/Nutella bagel, either. There's really no seating inside but there are quite a few tables outside. The tables turn over pretty quickly so be patient. The inside of the shop is very clean and attractive. Are these the bagels in the world? Well, not necessarily, but they are big and fresh and very nice. This place is pretty popular and I'd come back anytime for their great bagel sandwiches. read more

I had to visit this site after it was featured on local news (Fox and CBS), and I was not disappointed. There are plenty of bagel sandwiches that I need to try, but I opted with the classic lox. Lox #7 Oy Vey! ($16.50): I chose the everything jalapeño bagel. This was a messy sandwich, but it was gratifying, 8/10 rating. I couldn't distinguish a NY bagel from the West Coast style, probably because of all the fixings. They are generous with the sandwich filings. My friend, who was born and raised in NY said the bagels are authentic here. Service was standard. There was always a line, but the wait was short. These bagels are worth trying. They are better quality than a chain bagel shop. The everything bagel was particularly good (lots of seasoning) and the mixed berry cream cheese was fun to try (light and fresh). We paid ~$60 for a dozen bagels and cream cheese, so it's definitely a splurge. The location is small and it gets crowded quick with a line out the door. The efficiency could improve with an adjusted system. We stood in the shop for about 10 mins while the entire staff had their backs turned working on the assembly line not addressing the line of people (I'm assuming for online takeout orders?). Delicious bagels. The guys running this shop are super friendly, pay attention to the details, and are offering some great bagels. I ordered an eggything bagel which is my favorite bagel of all time when it's on any shops's menu. It's an egg bagel with everything seasoning and I had it with chive cream cheese. First of all, the bagel had the perfect chew to it, a great mouth feel that made you work for the first bite but then was soft on the inside. The seasoning was superb; poopy, sesame, salt, onion, garlic all blended nicely and got stuck in my teeth as they should. Ordered two blueberry bagels at 10 am 7/15. Got in the car and both bagels were burnt and disguised with heavy cream cheese. They were disgusting. my child refused to eat it. What a waste of money. I have been here many times and when you order a sweet bagel, they use the same knife that they use on the savory garlic bagels so your sweet bagel ends up tasting like garlic. Gross. read more

Came today well after 12 noon. Not too many bagels left, as expected. Got a hellfire bagel to take home. I had some smoked salmon, tomatoes, cucumbers, and cream cheese to put on it. Toasted the bagel, and yes, even with the cheese, it toasted up nicely. Added my at home accompaniments and can I just say this bagel was amazing! It's my first visit and I will be back! This is by far the most expensive bagel shop I have been to. Roughly $20 for 6 bagels and cream cheese or a single lox bagel sandwich. Quality of bagels are good but you will have to run your eyes to see that the prices are real. Everything on the menu is 50-70% higher than any other shop. I stay ready to support small businesses! Came in for an everything bagel with butter and decided to upgrade to the Cheddar Jalapeño everything bagel, which is considered a premium. They also sell smears and bagel sandwiches, along with coffee. Bagel was good- the dough reminded me of sour dough bread. Jalapeños & cheese were melted onto the bread and flavorful =) I overheard just opened yesterday, 7/12/22, and I'm sure they will find their rhythm soon! It seems the service is better in the morning, she had to ask someone if they offer bags.
