I'm so glad I finally made it to this bagel shop - it was fantastic! I didn't know a lot going in and Nathan was so helpful explaining their different offerings. I wasn't sure what I wanted and he took his time asking me flavor profiles I like etc and honestly I'm so glad because I love what we landed on! Something different I've never tried (Angry Everything bagel - 3/10 spicy level) with chive cream cheese to balance it. It was so delicious!! There were so many options! I went with a cinnamon raisin bagel with honey walnut schmear and it was absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering as I write this review. I also purchased a bag of their day old bagels and a tub of the habanero schmear. The bagels were still great the day later, though I wasn't sure what flavors they were. The habanero schmear was SO spicy, with visible chunks of habanero. I would go back just for that. The folks working were super friendly and quick. I've been here a couple times now and overall here's my take - If you are looking for a super spicy bagel you can't find anywhere else, this is the place for you. Anything else, you can probably go to any bagel shop. The HELLFIRE BAGEL is incredible. the best bagel i have ever had, but not because of the actual bagel lol more the toppings and flavor choice. It has habanero peppers and habanero pepper jack cheese. I opted to add the habanero cream cheese as well - another thing I've never seen before. 100/10, will come again because of that bagel. At the same time, I tried the Angry Everything and was severely disappointed. It had little to no taste, minimal spice if any at all, and was so bland I threw it away. My 5 year old daughter loves the Everything bagels, but the seasoning falls off anywhere she touches so it ends being mostly a plain bagel. Agree with the reviews that they tend to have several burnt batches of bagels, and will serve as is. Parking is easy, staff are friendly and efficient, and the inside is very clean considering how many people are in and out. No bathroom for customers that I could see, but I haven't asked. Absolutely delicious. From the moment I walked in, everything on the menu sounded so good it was hard to choose, and the person working was incredibly nice and genuinely generous, which made the experience even better. One thing I loved is that they actually call their cream cheeses schmears--something I've rarely seen in California--and the variety of flavors was amazing. I ordered a breakfast bagel with all the classic breakfast toppings plus their special that includes a hash brown, and I added the roasted garlic schmear. It was incredible. The bagel itself was toasted perfectly, not hard at all, and every bite was so flavorful. Service was super quick, and this place seriously deserves more recognition because it's that good. It sounds like they got a rush of orders and they were behind. You can tell a lot about someone from how they respond to a stressful situation (ie frustrated customers who don't like to wait). We are loyal customers and that's why as my only Mother's Day request I wanted my favorite bagel sandwich. I ordered ahead for 10am pick up, so it would be easy for my husband. He came at 10 and they said they were 15 mins behind, he checked after 15 and the man working there said he could cancel if he didn't want to wait. 15 more minutes and guess what? They had lost our order. They refunded and made it right away, but handed us the wrong bagel. Thankfully my husband checked, but they were out of the correct bagel. I've really been trying to give this place a chance, but the last few times I've gone have been really disappointing. It's an extremely big let down when you wait in line for 10 minutes... see the bagels you'd like to get only to be told it's not available even though there's still 4 showing in the baskets. There obviously NEEDS to be a better system in place so that customers DON'T waste their time. I stopped off here to grab a surprise breakfast for my partner who works nearby recently and enjoyed my experience. The bagels are fresh and flaky but soft and chewy on the inside it's lovely. I've been to this bagel shop more than once now and it still is one of my favorite bagel spots to go to on my way to San Diego. The line is always massive and usually they sell out of bagels if you go too late, the line wasn't too long today. It was almost out the door and the service was so quick. I placed my order and within 5 to 10 minutes I had gotten my bagel. It was really fast. The bagel I got was the jalapeño cheddar bagel with mustard, cheese, bacon, sausage, and aïoli sauce. Delicious bagels and a fun name! There's quite the menu of bagel sandwiches here and they aren't cheap, but they do sound delish. I opted for a simple bacon, egg and cheese on an egg bagel. The plain & everything bagels are big, fluffy and chewy but some of the other bagels lack the same volume and texture. Ordered the oy vey on a plain bagel, basically a lox sandwich with the works and it was quite good! The lox portion was quite generous. The price was a bit expensive around $17 which was the only downside. Overall 8.5/10. Also got the shlub, which is a basic egg sandwich on a bagel. The egg lacked flavor, but the cheddar was good. 6/10 probably would not order again. Additionally, got a cheddar jalapeno bagel with veggie cream cheese. 8/10, the jalapeños were very fresh and veggie cream cheese was better than most. "For the one that just got back from a New York trip" I got recommended this place as a spot for "authentic NY bagels" and it did not disappoint. First off, props to the guy behind the counter cause he hooked me up with his favorite sandwich that he makes. He asked me if I trusted him and I'm glad I did. The bagel was toasted crispy and perfectly chewy. I could see they had some big barrels in the back for boiling bagels so it seemed very legit. Now the toppings...BOY GET OUTTA HERE. He gave me something of a variation on the Groisser Hentel: taylor ham, cheddar, hashbrowns, caramelized onions, aoili all on a plain bagel. It was everything you want in food: salty, fatty, sweet, savory and some crunch. I downed the thing in 5 min. On top of that, the whole shop had a chill vibe for meet ups or studying. If you've seen some of my reviews, you know finding the best bagel sandwich around is something I do everywhere I go. The bagel itself was decent. The bacon was overcooked. My friends and I did a mini bagel crawl today at several spots (everything bagel + veggie cream cheese) and this was our unanimous favorite. Bagels have a good crust, well balanced interior mouthfeel between fluffy and doughy, small central bagel hole, and well-topped (toppings on both top and bottom. Slice!). This was also our favorite veggie cream cheese that we tried since it actually had small bits of crunchy veggies in it. Service was super friendly despite it being near closing (be wary that they might run out of certain flavors near closing). They even gave me a small side of chive cream cheese since I wanted to try it :) It's a cute, small store with some seating inside and out. Different bagel options are displayed in a typical glass case with bins at the front. My friend from New York said this was the closest to a New York bagel she's had in SD so far. I was so hyped to try this place, my wife found a write up for it in a AAA magazine, and as folks who just love us some bagels, we hit this place up and tried a few of their bagel sandwiches. Even more exciting to see that they had Taylor ham on the menu! We ordered a Putz (Taylor Ham, Egg scramble, cheese, ketchup) on an everything bagel, and an Oy Vey! (Premium Acme Lox, chive schmear, capers, sliced tomato, pickled onion, salted cucumbers, sprouts, fresh dill). We each shared half of the Putz and Oy Vey! I have to say this was highly underwhelming. I understand that this place gets busy, and did not mind waiting for quite some time to get our order, but I expected the Putz to be hot and it was not. The Taylor ham was hardly cooked, while I guess this is a personal preference, I enjoy frying it as it's supposed to be! The Oy Vey! was very sloppy, the lox was not very tasty but did not taste "off". Both sandwiches were very light on the protein which would be more forgivable if the bagels themselves were delicious, they just were not. Overall, I think that the price point is high for what you get here, and there are better bagel spots not too far away. I really expected a lot more from this place. read more

I had the ham, Swiss and egg on the angry everything bagel and it was so good I can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu. I dont know how they cook the egg but I like the tenderness. After today: Extremely disappointing breakfast bagel sandwiches for our group of 4. Spinach bagels are usually my fave but not here or at least not today. I suggest management try the spinach bagels at 101 in Oceanside and compare it to what they are serving. The sausage patty wasn't anything special and neither was the latke. I think it was supposed to have chipotle aioli but I didn't see or taste any. It was also supposed to come with peppers and onions and there were no peppers and one little onion slice. I will definitely be hesitant to come back after such drastically different experiences but maybe someday. read more
