2 stars for the TERRIBLE customer service. Two bad experiences: 1) called one night at 830pm asking if I could still place a to-go order since they close at 9pm. The guy said yes. I hung up, looked at the menu and called back 5 mins later. I called TEN TIMES until about 850pm. Nobody answered each time! What the hell?! 2) the one time I actually did pick up food, I asked for a couple extra green sauces on the side for the 2 entrees I ordered. I got the EVIL EYE. She said I could buy a bottle... Met up with old co-worker whom I used to work with. We used to come here once a week for lunch when we work around here. Looks like the strip mall has a few new tenants. I see the gentleman's club has been replaced with Buffalo Wild Wings, Wahoo is gone now, there's Peppino, etc. I was glad that Inka is still around and surprised to find that the food is still good. I had lunch with some co-workers after my buddy said that it was authentic . I ordered the pollo saltado. It was like $14 and all ONIONS!!!! They should call it the onion Plate. It was mainly all onions , a few fries, and like 4 pieces of chicken. Th green sauce was ok. The chicken was decent but there wasn't enough of it. Fine so I'm being taken for less food - no big deal. But the reason for the shitty revues is what happened next: We split the bill and my portion was like $14 and change and that is what is given to me by receipt BUT I Get text messages after every transaction and THE SERVER ADDED $5 TO MY ORDER WITHOUT SAYING ANYTHING. That shit was shady . The server was a Latina lady wearing black tight pants. I approach her and tell her that by bill was for $14 but the actual charge was exactly $5 more . She says that she miscalculated and I told her why wasn't I informed? She attempted to give me a receipt but I already had lost trust in her . Stayed at Springhill Suites for a week which is in the same strip as Inka Grill. I must have ordered Inka for lunch or dinner on a daily basis! Their chicken soup was so so good, such a unique taste with cilantro in there. Also really loved their 1/2 chicken combo with rice and beans. Oh! Their maduros and empanadas were great too. Dining in the service was a bit slow despite not many people being there. However the food was great and the employees were very kind. Would definitely go back! read more

This review is based on multiple visits. This is a nice little Peruvian restaurant. The service is friendly and the food comes out pretty fast. I most recently visited with a colleague from work. I tried Nicole's pasta before (Alfredo Style with meat) and most recently tried the spinach basil spaghetti with Milanesa Beef (lightly coated and pan seared) with a diet coke. My colleague ordered the same meal. The sauce on the spinach basil spaghetti was very runny and did not have much texture to it. I have had better here before. That cost me $16 before tax and tip. There's not many Peruvian spots around so it's hard to compare. I had the saltado with filet mignon and it was pretty good. I wouldn't say it was as amazing as Vox Kitchen but not too bad. The meat was tender and soft and the fries that were sauteed in was bomb. I wish there were more of both the meat and fries though...kinda felt like there was too much onions. The sauce was average....Vox is better. The rice wasn't cooked very well...super dry but my attention is more on the meat. Vox is Asian Peruvian fusion though so idk...I just feel like the saltado at Vox was more flavorful and had more meat and potatoes. No idea how this place isn't ranked higher. I've been to the location in Newport Beach/Costa Mesa a couple times before and am in love with their food. I have reason to believe there is crack in their house sauce because it is legitimately addicting. I put it on their bread rolls, my rice, and all over the chicken Saltado (literally the only thing I've ever ordered here...so delicious). I've been tempted to take shots of it. I has the Picante shrimp and it was salty, NOT spicy, and they chopped up a lotnof cilantro and put it in the sauce, which was weird cause the cilantro was crunchy, and it overpowered the bland, salty sauce. I got "Raul's Macho Fish" - pan fried fish, diced shrimp, calamari, green onions, two big slices of potato, in a tomato-garlic reduction, served with rice and salad. The salad made me really turn this review down. It was, like, only a couple ripped pieces of green lettuce, smaller than the size of the rice mound. I was just like, "Really? Skimping on lettuce?" Otherwise, the crisp fish, flavorful just enough spicy sauce, and not-too-chewy calamari was yummy. My aunt got the "Parihuela" - Fisherman's stew - with halibut and seafood. It was a good, warm, spicy stew with lots of veggies and lots of seafood. She asked for salad instead of rice. Fresh lettuce with diced cucumbers, carrots, and tomatoes and those green kidney-shaped beans. Tried a little spoon, kinda tasted like my dish with a slight difference. My aunt said it was good, but just three stars when I asked her again. Everything, overall, was just average, though, hence the 3 stars. The food itself is super hearty and if you enjoy red onions, cilantro, a hint of soy sauce, and a whole lot of carbs you will enjoy this place too! I've had their curry dish, lomo saltado, seafood paella, and the macho fish. All were pretty good, although I'd definitely recommend the seafood paella and lomo saltado. I come here for 2 main reasons: 1) Chowder-Chupe. It's soup. I come to Inka Grill because I get cravings for specifically this dish. The price ranges depending on if you order it with Chicken, Shrimp, Beef, Clams, Fish, etc. It's a little spicy, not as much as the green sauce for the bread. It gives whiffs of garlic, cilantro, and oregano. It doesn't taste like New England clam chowder. It has kind of a Ramen-type texture. It's not ridiculously creamy, but it's very rich and extermely savory for sure. It is not a light soup; it will fill you up. You'll want to dip those complimentary bread rolls into it, despite the fact there is rice and potato in it. You'll be pleasantly surprised to discover a soft boiled egg floating around somewhere. I've had it with clams (I got 9), fish and mussels. So far I like fish the most, and I plan to try every option (even vegetarian) by the end of the year. 2) Green Sauce. It's the best I've had... I haven't been to many Peruvian establishments though so... Spicier than some places, but there's some kind of weird buttery quality to it. My gut biome can't handle spicy food, yet I overdo with green sauce anyways because it tastes good. It gives me heart burn, however, for me it's worth it. Bread + Butter + Green Sauce = over 9000, meaning it's very good. Put it on everything. It even goes well with the Chupe. I wouldn't mind coming in here for happy hour to get a Peruvian cocktail(they have a few) and just eat the bread and sauce. I bought a bottle of the green sauce for I think ~$7. Bear in mind that 1 bottle is a lot of sauce and it might go bad before you manage to finish it. It would be fantastic to bring to party! Sauce and bread: there's your potluck contribution. Restroom Review - 4/5 There is one single occupant restroom. It has a cozy, homey feel to it. Decent size. The walls are bright yellow with several art pieces to stare at if you're there for a while. No urinal, just a commode. It's been well kept every time I've gone in there, with no weird smells. I never feel like I want to get out of there as soon as possible, which is always a good sign for a restroom. There is a narrow corridor that leads to it, and I earnestly enjoy the journey, as it is also paved with eye catching, what I asuume is, Peruvian art. read more
