Ordered through the app and they failed to deliver my order twice. It is also hard to reach them by phone at this store.

Buttercream of my dreams, absolutely delicious. I did a cake decorating class here and spent the…read moreweek nibbling away at my cake and just knowing it would soon come to an end sO I ran back in to give a couple cupcakes and their Lucky Matcha a try and they really don't miss, everything shmacked. The sunrise cupcake was divine, super bright with lemon zest and their cakes and cupcakes are kind of dense but suuuper moist, very decadent treats. My matcha was love at first sip, I foolishly ordered the small but I could have chugged a large (and I will, next visit) Can't wait to go back and try any of their huge cinnamon rolls. Also, you can order just buttercream by the pound and lordy I might just eat it by the spoonful or make some grown up dunkaroos with the buttercream and some thin cookies.

I ordered a red velvet graduation cake from Buttercream Bakery in San Antonio for my nephew's…read moregraduation celebration. The cake was beautifully decorated and looked exactly like something you'd be excited to serve at a special event. Unfortunately, the taste was a completely different story. When the cake was cut, the red velvet layers appeared discolored and uneven in color, with some sections looking dull and brownish rather than the rich red color you would expect. The cake itself had an off flavor that was difficult to ignore, lacking the classic mild cocoa and tangy notes of red velvet. It was not velvety at all. It tasted OVERLY salty and left an unpleasant aftertaste. The frosting looked fine and had a smooth texture, but it was also noticeably salty and did not have the creamy, slightly tangy flavor typically associated with cream cheese frosting. Multiple guests commented on the SALTY flavor, and several people did not finish their slices. One thing I've always appreciated about Gordon Ramsay's approach to food is his reminder that presentation means very little if the food doesn't taste good. A chef or baker should taste what they're serving. A beautiful cake can impress people for a moment, but flavor is what people remember. Graduation is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone, and I was disappointed that the cake became a topic of conversation for the wrong reasons. The appearance was excellent, but the taste did not meet expectations. I hope Buttercream Bakery takes this feedback seriously and places as much emphasis on flavor as they do on presentation. I paid over $200 for this cake. They offered me an e-gift card of $100. I don't live in San Antonio. I could give it away to my family here, but I made the payment!

This is a cute little shop in a little strip of other random places -- I'm not native to San…read moreAntonio and am unfamiliar with the area. They have new treats every week based on popularity or season/holidays or whatever is just being made that week. I got the game day cookie for Super Bowl which was filled with a bunch of random stuff like chocolate chips and butterfinger and pretzels and potato chips and m&ms and then a vanilla bean scone. It totaled $10, pretty typical for gluten free (more expensive side). I had the scone that day, it has slight crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside and wasn't too sweet. It was huge and I greatly enjoyed it and isn't something I could replicate on my own. The cookie I was hesitant to get at first because I can make my own cookies but this was unique and the other items didn't pique my interest as much. I had this the next day and split it with my family. Warmed it up and definitely better warmed up - gooey on the inside, cooked well on the outside, nice combo of flavors although the sweet definitely overpowered any saltiness. Family liked it! You order and pay and then you're on your way. No room to sit.

But honestly the real gem is the biscuit. I am writing this review about 12 hrs after purchasing these treats. While I eat "just one more nibble" of the biscuit (at 10:30pm). It is dense as a biscuit should be, however it almost feels like a pound cake with a decadent crust. The texture is amazing. The flavor is amazing. This is just all around a wonderful treat. Please also note. Sprinkles and spoons does not serve coffee. So, plan on bringing your own or take your cookie to the park and get a lemonade like I did.
