Doesn't look like much when you walk in but the pizza is incredible. Looks like more of a take out place and had very limited seating. Kids had a pepperoni pizza and said they thought it was the best they ever had. My wife and I had the Lombardi which has pancetta, Gorgonzola & walnuts. Maybe the best pizza we ever had. Also had a Greek salad which was big enough to share. Nice panini menu as well. Would highly recommend. read more

Has to be the best pizza in Baltimore. The small space and location make it a a "hole in the wall" restaurant, but it's well worth it! My favorite is the pizza with prosciutto, ( Stratto ). It's amazing and they slice the prosciutto to order! Really authentic and actual Italian employes. read more

We walked over to take a break from a full day of National Aquarium/Visionary Arts/Inner Harbor; Isabella's is only about 10 minutes by foot from National Aquarium. It's small -- only 3 tables, mostly take-out, but one of the tables was free so we sat down. A huge variety of sandwiches and pizzas, we had a chicken pesto sandwich and a sausage sandwich, both on long rolls. Both were very tasty, with good quality ingredients. read more

This place was awesome. Went in at around 130 and bought a pepperoni pizza for myself and a chicken Parmesan for my girl. The pizza was delicious the perfect amount of sauce, cheese overflowing and not skimping on the pepperoni. I normally don't eat crust but the pizza was so light and delicious that I couldn't help myself. My girl loved her sandwich as well. Get there before or after the rush because they have limited seating, other than that pretty awesome. read more

My favorite pizza spot in Baltimore thanks to their Sarceno pizza (italian meats, garlic, feta). Their crust is always nice, crispy, and also moist enough so that you can eat an entire pizza in one sitting without feeling dry or thirsty at the end (yes, it has happened before!). They're consistently delicious. Only downside is that they don't deliver, but they're easily worth the drive for pick-up. read more

The pizza was delicious! Fresh ingredients. Only down side was minimal seating, so it's more of a grab and go kinda place. Still worth it!

We came in around 8 o'clock and it was nice to see that we were the only people there. I don't mind a quiet restaurant. We ordered a chicken Parm sandwich and a margarita pizza. My mistake I didn't see that they use grilled chicken on the chicken Parm sandwich which in my opinion should be illegal, but still tasted disgusting - it was nothing but oregano and barely any cheese. How can you omit the breaded chicken cutlet???? The Margherita pizza was made with raw sliced tomatoes (not good quality prob for cold sandwiches), extremely bland cheese and sauce, the dough was decent but not as crispy as we asked for. We had to ask for salt- practically a crime in my opinion. They also don't have plain parmigiano cheese, it's a sketchy blend of spices and cheese- very strange. Like sawdust. How could they put such a nice pizza oven to waste??? I eat pizza everywhere I go, I would NEVER go back or tell anybody to eat there. read more

Friendly as can be when we walked in. Very authentic & perfect for lunch or a quick sandwich to go. I was shocked how good the sauce tasted and there was a definite distinction between the pizza sauce and marinara-as there should be. This pizza is so very good! My other half is from new jersey and is a total pizza snob and even he raves about this place. The crust- authentic thin crust is to die for! You can buy dough here and make your own if you like but the best is half cooked, take it home and indulge. We travel a long way for this pizza but it is worth it. Loved it. The sandwiches were fresh, big (even the small), and the bread was delicious. The hubby got the chicken parm, while I got the verde. I wasn't excited about the veggie options, but somehow it all came together in a super-tasty format. Quick and friendly service, and somehow we thought ahead and got some bread and dough to go. I grew up in Baltimore, but now live in Chicago. Whenever I fly into BWI, I'll stop in and pick up some sandwiches before heading North to visit my family. This is generally my favorite part of the trip. This is the best sandwich I've had in all of Maryland. I think it's the bread that makes it so good. We get food from here at least once every two weeks. It is by far the best brick oven pizza in Baltimore. Their subs are also fresh and the bread is amazing. Their Italian Cold Cuts are amazing, and their vegetarian subs are great because their mozz is made in house. This place is a must try for people who visit Baltimore. read more

Wonderful pizza in Little Italy. First time in several years in Baltimore and it was 100 degrees and although we walked to Vaccarros for cappuccino ...too hot. Needed late lunch. Split the margherita pizza and it was perfect! Fresh basil perfect sauce, crust was great. Went back to get our daughter a plain cheese pizza the next night...busy Saturday night at 7. Wonderful pizza, had one with garlic, rapini, and soppressata which was sliced right before going on the pie. Lots of credit for actually giving the crust some char, although a little bit too much cheese weighed down the pizza and changed the crusts' texture by the end. We will be back! read more

Just visited Baltimore for the first time and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite and header over to the Italian section. I tried to go to Joe Benny's but they were closed so headed over to Isabella's and got a chicken parm sandwich. I was very disappointed and ended up throwing most of the sandwich away. Having lived and spent 20+ years in Boston and a lot of time in the North End, I've had some great Italian food. This was far from great! This was grilled chicken that had been prepped earlier so it was cold. They sliced it up and put cold sauce on it and then put it on a pretty generic hero roll and warmed it up. Not only that but it wasn't even warmed up enough because most of the sauce was still code. So you had a generic roll, reheated chicken (which in of itself is foul), and cold sauce = FAIL! read more

I make trips to Baltimore from Harrisburg just to visit Isabella's, because they make the best pizza I've ever had! Everything is made fresh with high-quality ingredients, some of which are also available for purchase in the small shop they have onsite. And unless you find yourself in line behind several others, you don't have to wait long for your pizza either. I always order either the Stuarto (prosciutto with a traditional red sauce and mozzarella) or the Saraceno (white pizza with sopressata and capicolla). The crust is crispy with a nice slightly charred look and taste from the brick oven, and all the ingredients come together in gooey but never soggy bliss. Sitting on every table is a bottle of quality olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette - you can twist the top to pour pure olive oil, pure balsamic, or mix the two at whatever level you want. It's great for dipping the crust. The subs look amazing but the family and I love our pizzas so much we never order anything else! Service is always friendly. The only issue is that it's a small shop so there's barely any seating inside, but the food is so good it's worth the gamble - if it's all full (which has never actually happened to us), you could go find someplace outside to enjoy your meal if it's warm enough, or if you're local simply order a pie to go. My suggestion for my fellow out-of-towners: Eat your pizza or sub, walk it off for a couple hours, then stop by Vaccaro's for some awesome dessert. read more

Isabella's is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. They have a wide variety of delicious sandwiches. Each one that I try is better than the last. The restaurant is authentic Italian and they only use the best ingredients. Their pizza is amazing too. They catered an event for the company I work for and everyone was very impressed with the quality of the food. It's one of the first restaurants that I recommend to people when they come to Baltimore. read more

Visiting from out of town and saw the reviews on Yelp. My hotel was within 5 minutes walking distance. Called and ordered the 12" Meatball Chub. Before I was able to even walk there the sandwich was ready. Very friendly staff. The sandwich was a slice of heaven. Not as messy as many I have had. Good amount of very flavorful sauce and parmasean. The bread is toasted with garlic butter. The meatballs are big and firm and fantastic. I am here for a few more days and might have to eat here every night. Who needs crab cakes when you can eat in Little Italy? read more

Got takeout from Isabella's, the menu looked great and was enticed by the positive reviews, but the food was a disappointment. The Eggplant Parmesan sub we ordered was described as "Breaded Eggplant, Marinara, Fontina Cheese baked in the Brick Oven" -- but there was no cheese, the eggplant was clearly pre-cooked and flavorless, and the bread it came on was cold so the sub was definitely not oven baked. There are plenty of better Italian places in Baltimore, would not go back here. read more
