Stopped by a few days ago (Saturday afternoon) and had excellent food and an excellent experience. I called in advance to see if they excepted dogs and they do. I was seated fairly quickly and the tables had good spacing. Plenty of room for my dog. They also brought a water bowl. We had a very nice bottle of wine and their tuna nachos. When In Rome.... Great waterfront place. Had a nice view of water & mangroves. Fresh seafood was great. We had a blackened mahi fish filet with a salad. Also a whole fried Hogfish snapper. They both were excellent. Key lime pie for desert since you have to have that while visiting the keys. Pie was good but not the very best. read more

Just stopped here after a day of snorkeling. Ordered the Tuna Nacho's and they were awesome! Very refreshing and filling. Our waitress Lala was very friendly and patient. The only thing when coming here just make sure you have a complete menu....mine was missing the page with drinks & desserts and my Hubby's was missing the page with all the sandwiches. I ordered the catch of day sandwich grilled - you can get it fried or blackened. The plate came out with this huge piece of fish covering the bun. I could smell how fresh the fish was. I decided to touch the bun and just eat the fish. So glad. You could tell it was caught this morning. So fresh. Seasoned lightly - all I did was add a squeeze of lemon provided. And the fries! Just that right crispy. Service was phenomenal. If I wasn't driving down to key west, I would sit here with a book and grab some drinks. Will come Back ! We were on our way back home from Key West and decided to stop here for lunch. The traffic on this road was at a standstill so what perfect time to enjoy a nice lunch on the water. The place was pretty big with outdoor seating on what looked like a man made beach. I was bummed because I didn't see that until after we were done with our lunch. We still had an awesome lunch indoors with the views of the water and people docking their boat. Fun fact: you can throw your leftovers over and you could see all the pretty fishes eating your food. The service was quick and friendly. We decided to order a cocktail and food. I ordered the conch fritters which were delicious. For my meal, I had their tuna nachos, which comes with Ahi grade tuna on a bed of sesame seaweed salad over crisp wontons and topped with wasabi drizzle, sesame seeds, sweet soy, sriracha and scallions. The food was fresh and it came out fast. We wished we lived closer because we love the island vibe and the tropical paradise this place embodies. I'll definitely be back! read more

Before the last hurricane hit, I ate here a lot. It was one of my favorites. I have not been back to the keys for almost 2 years. Came down today. Completely rebuilt. Then the trouble started. My wife ordered a fish dip with wontons. It came with crackers and tasted awful. Don't know how you can screw up fish dip. When my wife asked for wontons, we got a dirty look and came back with two Then my meal came. It was supposed to be a fish Reuben, with Swiss cheese and coleslaw. It came without Swiss cheese. When I asked about it, I was snidely told that she had to check the menu. Then she came back with two slices of cheese. I said the cheese should be melted in and was told it was too bad. Good place in Islamorada next to my family's home on the water. I didn't get to take any pictures but enjoyed my breakfast, the intracoastal views and had good service. I had a Greek omelette which was super filling and yummy. This place does a great Happy hour in their indoor bar. Andrea & Lexie (mother & daughter) are two of the best bartenders on the island. Very friendly and fun and give great service. If our glasses even got close to empty they would be right there asking if we wanted something else. They have killer drink and small plate food specials for happy from 3-6pm everyday. read more

Our server Lori was great. That was the best thing about the restaurant. We selected this place based on the menu selection. I ordered the Island Quesadilla with chicken. It was a tortilla with plain, unseasoned chicken and too much cheese. Served with guac, sour cream and pico. Flavorless meal! Tried the crab cake. The crab was chewy and did not appear fresh at all. It was the last night of our vacation and we decided to have a margarita. It tasted like water with a drop of lime in it. I sent it back. The location is wonderful and the place could be a success but unless some changes are made, I expect it will not last long. Big Bob salad and lobster roll were acceptable. The manager welcomed us but did not check on our experience. I would not recommend the Island Grill. read more

Had the blackened fish tacos and the deep fried whole hog fish - both were wonderfully cooked but wish the hog fish had just a bit more flavoring.. don't get me wrong, the skin was nice and crispy (which is what I enjoy from the a deep fried fish) but the actually meat inside tasted a little bland when eaten by itself. Service was wonderful, we sat at the bar because it was empty and didn't want to wait for a table. The water view was really cool, it just made me want to go kayaking Parking was good and plentiful for the time we were there but can't imagine how it might be when that place is packed. Bay side restaurants were packed at sunset so we went to Island Grill based on a recommendation from a friend. We say out on the beach which was nice and a hit with the kids. The sunset was subdued but still pretty. We had the famous tuna nachos which had tons of tuna on it although not too many nachos. We enjoyed it though and I would have chosen it for my dinner had I known what the dish would be like. My friend had the vegetarian pasta which was very doused in Pesto and not the best. I am from Ft Lauderdale (two hours away) and was doing a progressive meal with some girlfriends. We had just had Tuna Nachos at Marker 88, which were good, but had a minimal amount of tuna. I insisted we try the tuna nachos at Island Grill and they didn't disappoint. Literally three or four times times as much tuna as the other place! BUT my story doesn't end here.... When we walked out to the parking lot, I notice that my car is leaking some fluid all over the parking lot :-( We go back inside to the airconditioned bar to wait for roadside assistance. Dominica, who was behind the bar, was super sweet, and made us feel at home. When we explained the situation, and did not order... right away, she serves us water and chatted with us while we waited. Mike, the Manager, said he thought he noticed the fluid in the driveway and offered to look at my car! He actually laid down in the rock driveway with his phone flashlight and looked under the car to see if he could help us. He ultimately decided that it was best to to tow the car to a mechanic and approved our choice of a local mechanic. There is good food at many restaurants in the keys and overpriced food at a lot of restaurants. Island Grill not only ticks the good food and good value boxes, the staff are friendly, kind, HELPFUL and worthy of your business. Thanks Island Grill for stopping a bad situation from ruining our day. We'll be back for sure! read more

The island grill has a cute vibe and beautiful views for dinner and drinks. The serving staff was accommodating and nice. However, we had a less than ideal experience. We came at a group of 9 which is understandably more difficult but our food came out in two parts more than 20 minutes apart. The fish was bland except for one plate and a few orders came out incorrectly. After asking for my dish to be corrected I still wasn't brought the correct toppings.
