Everything was so delicious and the service was excellent! We were seated outside and it's beautifully decorated. We started with drinks and I got the peach Bellini which was very good. I ordered the crispy wrap which was so well made, and the perfect portion as well. Others in my group enjoyed their food and drinks as well. Our waiter was so friendly and always checking in on us. Overall it was a great meal and I would definitely come back!

Island kitchen is one of the best breakfast/Brunch spots on the island. My go to's are the Turkey Hash or the Clucker chicken sandwich! It's always busy so service is a little slow but everything is made to order from the smoothies to every dish. When in nantucket and hungry for an early Diner style breakfast this is the place to go. Also they have a pretty solid dinner menu as well.

Recently visited this restaurant on my first time to Nantucket and it was a wonderful to begin our trip and end it as well! You can only make reservations for dinner. The food is delicious and service is great. Some standout dishes for me was the Brussel sprouts, fried calamari (probably the best calamari we had that week, it was so tender) and the lobster pasta primavera. It was simple but so much flavor and I love the sautéed fresh veggies with the lobster. I finished every bite!! When we went for breakfast I enjoyed the panko crusted eggs Benedict which is certainly unique and I also liked the matcha I got with diced strawberries and almond milk. It was refreshing and lightly sweet. Someone in our party got some juice and it was ginger forward so they had it sent back and they remade it and it was much better. Just goes to show how good the service is and they appreciated our feedback as the juices were a newer thing. If you're looking for a place with good food at a price that won't break the bank this is it! Also very kid and large group friendly.

The Ackerol spritz was really good but the bloody Mary's weren't anything special. Food was good except for some slightly runny scrambled eggs and the sausage wasn't that good. But the waffle, huevos rancheros, bacon, omelettes, toast all very good! They give you a lot of food which is nice for the pricing. The service was pretty good as well our server was very nice and the food came out pretty fast

Food and atmosphere was amazing! Surprisingly got seated very quickly despite the line on a Sunday morning. Orange juice is worth the price! Home fries were excellent. I wish the French toast was cooked a little longer! (I'm picky about my French toast lol)

Create your own omelette with black beans and Portuguese muffin

A long walk from the Hy Line dock to the restaurant but it was well worth it. We got iced coffees then shared a waffle and create your own omelette. Opted for the black beans and the Portuguese muffin. Delicious omelette. Waffle was unique and crispy. Syrup was not watered down as some restaurants do. Excellent service Delightful outdoor seating.

A charming ambiance fit for a sunny or gray day. The team was very accommodating towards our group of 9 and the wait was very little. Solid brunch options, nothing ground breaking but the standouts include Crispy chicken wrap, Huevos rancheros and the panko crusted Benedict. Also the coffee mugs are the sweetest touch.

It is down a side road off the main drag. rather signage is week. I had trouble finding it but it was recommended. I ate at the counter but seating was available inside as well as outside. It was bright, well lit. A nice ambiance.. They had asparagus mushroom omelette which were out of this world. The next time I am in Nantucket I definitely am returning.

I've been here a few times over the years, and their menu always has something for my taste. Their drink selection seems to change although the other times I've been here I was underage so didn't drink. Had a few drinks this last time all of which were delicious. Now the food.... AMAZING! Chicken Milanese and Steak Frites were ordered by my party and both were so good. We sat outside which had nice lighting and plants around the seating area which gave a nice vibe for a romantic dinner. Out waiter was friendly as had always been my experience at Island Kitchen. Would 100% recommend to a friend visiting Nantucket.

Very sweet staff and atmosphere that makes you feel like you are at a friends home or on their back deck. We got to see a beautiful sunset outside! The tuna nachos were tasty but the chips (wontons) couldn't hold all the goodness of the nachos. I didn't love the shrimp cocktail, they tried two different sauces a play on traditional cocktail sauce that was much too thick and a hot sauce that was just not my favorite. My goat cheese and apple salad was fantastic as was my husband's veal which is identical to German schnitzel! They have an ice cream bar next door if you get tired of the juice bar lines!

My go-tos are The Animal for breakfast with a griddled blueberry muffin, their pulled pork and shrimp Caesar salad are my sneaky lunch favorites and their shrimp shumai as a dinner app is some of the best I've ever had! read more

Didn't have a great experience here last night. We were seated at 7:30 (our reservation time) and had to ask for a server at 7:55. The food was good (not great) but the service continued to be rough. Two items we ordered were not delivered to the table, had to ask multiple times for some items. Not a horrible experience but not what you would expect for the prices. With so many options on the island we won't be choosing Island Kitchen again. On a side note, the flowers around the table were beautiful!! read more

Outstanding. Clearly a local favorite based on the folks there. Had the spinach and goat cheese scramble with salmon while the wife had roasted turkey hash with panko crusted eggs. Both wonderful. The service was great as well, with a pleasant server who took a few moments to chat here and there. That just capped off the experience. The prices were right as well. Highly recommended. We'll be returning for breakfast a couple of more times before returning to the mainland. read more

Its as good as everyone says it is. Prices are reasonable for Nantucket and the food is great. Turkey hash, make your own cheese scramble are what we had, both very good. Service was nice and quick. Its a little fancified as compared with Fog House but quite well done. read more

LOVE this place!!! Have been for breakfast and dinner. The food is always fantastic, and the service is wonderful. For breakfast my husband really enjoys the moroccan egg dish. For dinner, the shrimp shumai are yummy. Really enjoy the quinoa chicken salad at dinner- crispy chicken atop quinoa and arugula with grilled veggies and a yummy sweet and sour sauce. SO delicious! read more

Late review but thought it was a great restaurant. I loved the bench seats and atmosphere. I ordered The Animal and was very pleased. I also enjoyed a beautiful mimosa. The Service was prompt and friendly. The prices were fairly expensive but I guess that's to be expected in Nantucket! read more

I can't believe anyone has anything bad to say about here. It's the no.1 breakfast spot on the island. The ambiance outside is lovely and the food is even better. I wouldn't go anywhere else to grab breakfast. Yes in the summer the wait is crazy, the service can be slow and the food takes a little longer, but that is everywhere in the summer. As anyone can see the kitchen is small so expectations should be accordingly. Staff is great and always are prompt to get us a seat! Love, love, island kitchen. Mainly breakfast, but lunch and dinner is great too! read more

We were on Nantucket for Fugawi weekend and had dinner at Island Kitchen. I had the steak which was cooked perfectly. The potato soup was absolutely delicious. After dinner, our group had drinks upstairs in the lounge which was a great time. The service could not have been better. Joe and the staff were truly top notch. read more

We went here twice during our stay in Nantucket (which is a lot for one restaurant). Both times were for breakfast. I absolutely loved the food, they had a great menu with lots of choices both traditional and creative. I would definitely suggest everyone come here. They have great outdoor seating, and also had great takeout. Our waiter was extremely helpful and nice and made the experience that much better. It was slightly busy but we never had a problem with the amount of people or with a wait. read more

I have been coming to Nantucket my entire life and have never been to Island Kitchen before. We stopped in today and had an excellent breakfast. I ordered the turkey hash which was incredible. Great breakfast. They get it. Shockingly weak coffee. They don't get it. Iced coffee should not be lighter in color than a glass of Pepsi filled with melted ice, and it should have a bit more flavor than tap water. read more

**Public service announcement** Breakfast connoisseurs on Nantucket, here's my advice to you.. Walk in, don't ask for menus, sit down, order an "animal"... This "animal" leads off with a flakey, homemade, rich, buttery, toasted to perfection brioche Bun, stuffed with thick cut maple brown sugar cured bacon, which was accompanied by a juicy full flavored sausage patty. What makes this breakfast sandwich are the 2 poached and Panko fried golden eggs, which were smothered in a creamy abundant amount of hollandaise sauce. They also use a sharp cheddar cheese to to keep all the "fixins" inside. This is one of the best twists I have seen on the classic eggs Benedict dish. I left full and with a smile on my face. Hands down the best breakfast entree on island. I also suggest adding a blubbery muffin and ask them to "grille it" you will thank me later... read more

Literally on of the best breakfast location on the island. I went there basically everyday during my 3 months staying on the island. Very personable staff. Always smiling and always ready to making sure your day can start in an amazing way. Food incredibly delicious. My favorite items on the menu are two: the BLT sandwich served with a high quality focaccia bread with a delicious aioli sauce is marvelous. The goat cheese and spinach scramble eggs with Salmon out of this world!!! Never disappointed.Never being mistreated. Never beside my last day on the island that i got there For my usual breakfast and I found a different waitress that i never saw before and clearly she didn't have any idea I spent everyday eating there... Well i had the worst service ever!!!she didn't even said her name when she approached the table and she started telling me about the specials. I was confused! I almost thought her name was waffles or scramble for a second . I wished my last shot to this place was better.... read more

Rudest waitress ever snapped at us and told us they were closed- perhaps a better response next time would be "I'm so sorry, we just closed- please come back another time". Or offer a suggestion on what might be open close by. It's called customer service. read more

We tried this new restaurant based on the Yelp review. We were so happy with our choice to go there. The menu is very diverse with specials that change all the time. The chef is very creative and he uses locally sourced food. During our week+ on the island, we ate two dinners and one breakfast at Island Kitchen. Every single item that we had was great. For breakfast, there was a BLT on herd focaccia and a blue cheese omelette with apples and bacon. We had different things for dinner that were all great: shrimp appetizers, steak with blue cheese, chicken florentine, wiener schnitzel, fluke and vegetarian. To top it off, the server that we had (Tracy) was great. She is very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Keep up the great work and we look forward going back next year. read more

We were on-island during restaurant week Fall 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed dinner at some of Nantucket's finest but our personal favorite was Island Kitchen. Lobster-asparagus omelets, Spicy Shrimp Scramble...my mouth is watering just writing this review. Staff was very sweet and attentive, plus the weather was nice enough to take advantage of their tastefully-appointed patio seating. What we valued most about Island Kitchen was their innovative approach to breakfast...not the usual pancakes and omelets. Next trip back you can bet we're starting out our first day at Island Kitchen, just a fifteen minute walk from downtown, by the rotary. read more

Opened at the end of May, the Island Kitchen is prepared to give Nantucket an ever changing culinary experience at reasonable prices sourced from the finest ingredients.

Meet the Business Owner: Patrick R.

Chef Patrick Ridge started his cooking career at the young age of 14, and was immediately drawn to the sense of community and camaraderie that exists within the kitchen. After receiving his formal training at the Culinary Institute of America, Chef Patrick went on to complete numerous apprenticeships at two and three Michelin starred restaurants both in the US and abroad. Previously, he was Head Chef of Le Languedoc and he oversaw the development of Pronto, a high-end store-to-table concept. To broaden his event and business experience, Chef Patrick began working for a prominent island family, and has been the driving force behind many high profile catered events on and off island. Chef Patrick has been featured at the Nantucket Food & Wine Festival and other noteworthy island events. When he's not cooking, Chef Patrick enjoys spending time with his wife, Nicole, and fishing on his old lobster boat with his dog Alma.

The takeout window has a special menu off to the right side of Caribbean curries and other dishes. We came back that night and were rewarded with some of the best food we had on the island. The chicken was so tender it fill off the bone, sauces were rich and flavorful without being too spicy. We tried Festival, which is a bread that is a little sweet, and found it good for dipping in the sauces. Everything was excellent. Give it a try, it is like a hidden secret on Nantucket.

Went to Island Kitchen with a family group last weekend. The renovated patio is beautiful. Too bad that the food and the service have slipped so badly! We used to love breakfast at this joint, but there was something wrong with everything we ordered... The tomatoes in the Breakfast BLT were pallid, pink, and what you'd expect in February not August, tasteless! The egg whites in my husband's breakfast were very undercooked--the WHITES, ugh. I could go on, but you get the point: no one in the kitchen is paying attention. And the service is SLOW and uncaring. No smiles. No one checked to see how our meal was. Just drop the food (wrong plates to the wrong people, but that's a small issue), and then drop the check. We won't be back. Too bad. read more

Went to the Island Kitchen for breakfast on Fathers Day. Our server, Claire, was very nice and knowledgable. Everything was fast and delicious. I highly reccommend the blueberry muffins, they were delicious. My mushroom and asparagus omelet was perfecty portioned and cooked. Great food, great service, very reasonable prices.
